This is a trash product. I started flying it and it was fun until it randomly slammed into my ceiling and broke. I returned it, got a new one, and this one was working fine until my phone said full charge and the drone wouldn't even get off the ground because the real charge was so low. I left it plugged in for 3 days and it did the same thing. Trash product. DO NOT BUY

    Battery Life Poor

    • Written by from Fairview Heights

Charged it to 100% (only reflected 97%) and after 30 seconds it was down to 61%. Had it down to 0% in 2 minutes. This is worse than the helicopters you plug into the remote control and charge via AA batteries. Do not buy.

    Huge disappointment

    • Written by from Crawley Down

My son saved up his pocket money and bought one of these in dutyfree - on second use the drone took off and never came back, despite hitting the landing / emergency button! Total waste of money - further the instructions utterly useless / lacking in instructing how to fly. A very sad boy!

    That battery again!

    • Written by from Brooklyn

This wouldn't charge after the first use. I tried taking out and putting in the battery a dozen times. I eased the USB link in and out to try and make it connect better. Nothing worked. It seems like this a very poor product and not at all worth the $100 cost. It's a shame to see Apple selling rubbish like this. I guess they don't care about their reputation anymore.

The battery lasted 7 seconds and we sent it away, they replaced the battery, it now last for about 3 minutes flying time. One of the propellers has gone stiff and wont turn by the motor, it will turn if you use your finger though!

    Battery issue FIX

    • Written by from Swift current

    Step 1 calm down
Step 2 remove battery from unit
Step 3 take a thin long flat screwdriver in one hand and the mini drone in the other hand
Step 4 locate the battery connector pins
Step 5 gently push the outside 2 pins inward slightly so that they make better contact with the battery terminals
Step 6 reconnect and fully charge battery (1 hour min.)
step 7 update FreeFlight 3 software
Step 8 update Parrot mini drone firmware
    Step 9 enjoy

    Software problem with battery life

    • Written by from Givat schmoel

I also massive problem with the battery. After full charge you have less than 1 min autonomy.
But i think the problem is related to the soft.
I have also the JumpingSumo (which is amazing btw), which use the same battery, after 1 min in my Rolling Spider (and pretend battery out) i take off the battery and put it in my JumpingSumo, and surprisingly i have 90% battery and the Robot works for 20min.

So i advise to not buy until they have a solution for this bug, which i am sure is related to the software

Outside this it is a very cool Drone

    A disaster

    • Written by from Key Biscayne

The drone looks really cool, but as soon as I tried to fly it it went up until I lost signal and came down so fast that it broke. The drone only lasted less than 15 seconds. A waste of your money. I really regret buying this product.

    Do not fly outside

    • Written by from JBER

Had this thing for about three days and felt that I had the controls down pat. I decided to take it outside, huge mistake. Once the drone got out of range of my phone it did whatever it wanted. The drone literally flew so high that I could no longer see it; probably went 350 to 400 feet in the air. Who ever programmed this thing did not think it through at all! Seems pretty simple and common sense to to me, when it goes out of range make it land. Instead, these idiots programmed it take off; it flew even higher and even more out of range. The emergency button nor the land button would work because it was too far out of range. I even had the default setting set so it wasn't supposed to fly too high. Needless to say, it's gone. Huge waste of $100. Don't waste your money. I am severely disappointed.

    Battery is horrible

    • Written by from Cedar Park

I went in and bought the drone thinking it would be awesome. Flew it for 3 days just fine with some battery problem indoors and then fourth day it wouldn't even last in the air for 5 seconds. If you want to get a drone DO NOT buy this $100 piece of junk. Still trying to return the one I bought

    Battery life problem

    • Written by from El Paso

After about a dozen flights, the battery life suddenly decreased to about 20 seconds. Downloaded and installed the most recent version of firmware from the Parrot website, but this did not fix the problem. Sent a message to Parrot support, and they are working on the problem. Now only about 3 seconds of flight time.

    Battery problem!

    • Written by from Orange Park

Battery works well only first 4 flights. Now battery last only for few second, even after full charge. Also Parrot support doesn't answer my question. There is many mini quadrcopter for lower prices with better reliability. I won't recommend to buy this one.

    Problems from get go

    • Written by from Jerome

If they have found a fix to the running for 5 seconds problem I apologize, if not then its a total waste of money . I give it 1 star because it was fun for the hour it worked at 15 minutes between charges.. .Oh found a website that guaranteed a fix ,$47.00 for a week, Over a $100.00 for a year. I'm thinking of a second mortgage so I can maybe fly my Mini Drone for another 15 minutes. Fairly easy to maneuver, good pictures. Would love it if could run it.

    problem with photo retrieval...

    • Written by from Tracy

I love this thing and I had this for about a month now... The battery is holding off quite well, and I really like it's performance. One thing I'd like is for the drone to come with some extra propellers, but other than that, it's pretty well presented. After about two weeks or so, I noticed that when I try to retrieve the pictures I took, it won't do it; all it does is stay in the 'retrieving photos' stage. I don't know if it's a problem from the app, or if it's the drone, but until I figure it out, I can't collect the pictures I took. Other than that, the drone actually holds out really well. I have crashed it a bit, and the propellers hold out pretty well. I don't really mind about the charge time, but it would be nice if there was a longer-lasting battery type. It flies for a good amount of time still. I really like the Rolling Spider, and I would really recommend it to beginners. Grant that its a bit pricy, but once it's flown, it's really worth it. It's very stable, has a pretty average flight time for quadcopter drones, and is very easy to control. I would just warn to keep a look out for the glitch in the photo retrieval.

    • Written by from Manchester

If and when it decided to link with the software on the phone / iPad it will fly for about 20 seconds and then the battery is flat, plug it in for 1.5 hours and then enjoy anther 20 seconds of flight! Don't waste your money and buy a £20 remote control helicopter you will have much more fun.

    What a disappointment

    • Written by from Tampa

Coming from someone who owns a parrot ar drone 1.0 and 2.0, has a pair of zik headphones, and preordered the bebop drone online, this product is terrible. I'm sorry if anyone from parrot is reading this but it has to be said. I love parrot and all of their products. But this one isn't very good. AT ALL!
For starters I own both mini drones and I got them as a holiday gift from some of my relatives and I expected much more. The controls are fine and easy and it has excellent stability, not to mention the technology that went in to this this could be a great product. Except it's not. This drone if I can call this a drone has terrible range, a really bad camera, zero durability, and the battery oohh.. Boy. The drone has a range of 20 meters which isn't much but it's okay. The camera which only takes still images instead of streaming live video is 300,000 pixels but it looks way worse than its advertised. It can't take many crashes because it's cheaply made. And the battery says 8 minutes I counted 6:47 seconds, but after about 4 flights it won't fly. It will take off for 5 seconds but afterwards your done. Now that I have had this drone for about a month now the only thing I use it for is for the extra battery for my JumpingSumo which suprisingly is great. Parrot either send me my money back or fix this issue.
