    i feel naked without it

    • Written by from Whitby

I owned the second generation of the UP and the UP24 is much better. Sleep monitoring is much better on this one.

We all know that you can't trust an iPhone to wake you up. it's just not reliable. But the UP24 is very reliable. And woke wake up your wife sleeping next to you who doesn't have to get up for another 2 hrs (and has been up with the baby 4 times last night).

There is also a feature that vibrates if you have been idling too long... just reminds you to move around. Highly recommend this product!

    Actually impressed

    • Written by from Bagsværd

Happy I got the UP24 rather than the UP. The Bluetooth sync works well. I have been using the band for a bit more than 2 weeks and I really enjoy the statistics, the small useful comments, and the positive change it has helped bring into my lifestyle. I would love if I did not have to remember to tell the band when I shall sleep and when I woke up as well as take it off when I go swimming (it's splash-proof though). Why they made a special charger I have no idea and it's annoying. I have come to miss it when it needs recharging every 7 days. I love this generation but really look forward for the next. ;-)

    Fails after 58 days

    • Written by from Den Burg

I was really exiting about my Up24. Really liked design and also menu, but after 58 days, stopped working.

Also first damage occurs, one end of the band scratches all the time against one side. Now it is already damaged. My wife has the Fitbit, she is much more happy with it.

Compliments however for the App Store. After my complained, they immediately sent of a new one. I hope I don't have to pay the postmen.

In all, I honestly cant recommend this article.

PS sent a mail to Jawbone, still waiting for the answer.

Just great - would buy again

    • Written by from Salem

Love the fit, do not even know I am wearing anything. Daytime activity tracker easily shows daily progress or let's you know you could be doing a little more.. Sleep tracker shows amount of time in "sound" vs "light" sleep as well as times woke up, trends, and more. Automatic sync with ipad when open Up24 app, nothing to do. Alert given when needs battery recharge, takes 80 minutes in USB slot. More features and support from Jawbone such as emails and alerts on goals you can set and progress or lack of progress. Very pleased with wristband and would give it as a gift.

Now a few other notes and personal insights. Other's negative reviews caused some anxiety, but I decided to get it anyway and would return it quickly if it had problems. The first few days had a few "quirks" and raised some alarms. So I decided to read the instructions on the website and look at the FAQ's. The results were that after I did what I was supposed to as per the instructions, everything is just fine. Thought the battery was dead in 1 day - IT WAS NOT. Thought the sync didn't work - IT DID. Thought sleep button didn't work - IT DID. And a few other things as well - BUT EVERYTHING WORKED AND WORKED WELL, once I took the time to understand a couple of little things about it. In summary, took ME some time to figure it out because I did not read instructions or FAQ's before trying to use it. To repeat, I'm more than pleased with what it does and that it is all pretty much automatic by pressing the button when going to sleep and upon awakening, and by simply opening up the app the sync is automatic with info uploaded, analyzed, and then summarized for you to use as you wish.

Just got an UP24 reminder/alert that I should increase my activity if I wish to achieve "almost average" status. :) So these comments are finished, must go for a walk now!

Cool product but quality is poor

    • Written by from Halifax

The device is fashionable and the app is great, however my first device failed within 2 weeks, this was quickly replaced by the manufacturer...however they failed to tell me of the shipping and duty ($40)...now my second device has failed after ~3 months.

I bought the jawbone 3 months ago, mainly to record my sleep as I had issues. I must say that I'm surprised with the result and had none of the issues that plagued the earlier versions.

    Good, but not 100% great.

    • Written by from Bacliff

I've had to upgrade from a medium to a large, which wasn't a problem. Seamlessly swapped between the two which was great for me. The only "problem" I have, which is keeping this from becoming a 5 ★ rating, is that the Jawbone Updater ver 2.2.3 says I have an update available, yet there isn't any link to update. Had to search the forums for Jawbone to find an external link to the Jawbone UP Updater app. Haven't had any other problems, and would recommend this to anyone who's pretty serious about tracking their daily life. I do have one suggestion for anyone reading the reviews, try it for yourself. I've noticed a trend on Apple reviews that a majority call the UP24 an epic fail, yet I've had no problems. I've also had to problems with my iPhone 5S. Anyway, the UP24 is a pretty good piece of hardware, I like it. Try it for yourself and don't let other's judge for you.

Absolute junk - failed in two weeks

    • Written by from Suwanee

I read not to get the UP wet, only charge from my Mac Book Pro ports etc and treated it very carefully, exactly as directed. After one week it started waking me up at midnight each night with an alert that it could no longer sync to the app, to please open the app. Each time the app was already open but the band refused to communicate for ten minutes at midnight.
Then it randomly refused to connect via Bluetooth and ignored my switch to night mode so that it was daytime mode (and somehow counting steps when I slept!) all the time.
Reviews ARE RIGHT! This product is a serious lemon. Why is Apple selling something with such overwhelmingly poor reviews both here and on Amazon and Jawbones own forums?
We tried soft resets and hard to zero success. We removed the app and tried everything. It didn't solve a single issue.

    Best product on market today

    • Written by from Chicago

I had the FitBit and several of my colleagues have the Nike Fuel Band, but the third generation JawBone is the best out right now. My wife and I just each got one and we love ours. A couple of our good friends also have them and love them.

Agree with other reviewer that previous generations did have issues, but they have been fixed in latest generation.

    Do not buy this product!

    • Written by from Aurora

When it works it is a reasonable product. The problem is it doesn't work. I am still within the one year warranty period and I am on my fourth band. The company requires that I pay for postage to send the defective band back each time, including the last band that didn't work out of the package.

Too much money for a product that does not work. If you visit their support forum you will find it is a common issue. I am surprised Apple is still selling his product. Very disappointing!

Performed Like a "beta" Product in Development

    • Written by from Highland Park

This band worked well with the UP app but did not connect with other apps as claimed. The band also does not sync with computers as their website indicates. The stopwatch function does not work nor does the calibration feature. Overall it seems like a "beta" version of a product that hasn't resolved all the issues. Jawbone's Customer Support seemed eager to help but completely unqualified.

    Great Product

    • Written by from Gilbert

The UP24 (which is Gen3) was released in Nov 2013 and I purchased mine shortly thereafter. If you're not reviewing this product and complaining about the first two gens of the band, what's the point? Pay no attention to the reviews regarding the original versions of the UP prior to Nov 2013, which did have quality issues and lack of wireless sync, as they skew this product which is infinitely improved. I also considered the Fitbit Flex/Force, but the app and integration with Strava and IFTTT (and other apps) made the UP24 a no brainer for me. Works flawlessly and does exactly what I need it to do...

    Broke within 3 days

    • Written by from Ramona

I first bought the Flex, which broke the first day. I exchanged it for the UP24 and was really happy with the device and App. I actually love the app. I started to have problems with the battery on the second day. I called the customer service line and had the issue resolved. I went to bed that night with the device working and when I woke up the next morning the device wouldn't work at all. I'm waiting until the "iWatch" comes out from Apple before I buy another fitness band.

I have the original Up Band and this is a terrible product. In one year I have had 5 replacement bands. I think the concept is a great idea jawbone has just done a bad job designing it. I am going to try the nike band. One star for this product on design five star on concept.
