Good idea with some huge drawbacks

    • Written by from lakeport

I bought this and installing the film was easy. However the number tabs on the film are cheap paper and ripped up and left paper and glue residue on the both of my films. All attempts to use class cleaner and rubbing alcohol further ruined both of my films and both films needed up in the trash. These tabs need to be made of high quality plastic with a non-glue stick. This ruined both of my films and a total waste of money.

Awesome Product!!!! Just one minor thing...

    • Written by from Austin

I got this case today, it was VERY EASY to install. Had no bubble or Dust underneath my screen protector because I followed the steps as directed... I would totally recommend this product to anyone who don't wanna waste money on other screen protectors. I would recomend whoever buy this product , to take the time to clean the screen and get all the DUST out before applying the product to the iPhone. IF you follow each step as directed, your end result should be a positive one. I was hesistant at first, but the price was good and it came with two film. One thing I didn't like was that, the sticker that came to get the dust off the iPhone, it seemed like the glue on the sticker was dried out or something, because when I peeled it off, it didn't come off. It was a defective dust film sticker thing that I got when I purchase the product. But luckily I had tape laying around so I got that instead. But I would totally recommend this product to people who don't wanna waste their money on other screen protectors. GET THIS PRODUCT AND FOLLOW EACH STEP AS DIRECTED! I'm giving it 4 Full Star because of the Sticker Dust Removal being defective.

Terrible -- why is this is the Apple Store's only option?

    • Written by from Vancouver

I bought the Belkin Iris for iPhone 5 / 5s several months ago at my local Apple Store. It was the only non-"privacy" screen protector they carried, so I thought it would be decent... but it was not. It claims to be anti-glare, but I found it to be about as susceptible to glare as an unprotected screen. Worse, however, the protector scratched very easily -- much more so than similar products I've had for my previous iPhones.

It stayed bubble-free for several months, but eventually spontaneously developed a set of bubbles about an inch from the edge of the screen that refused to go away, via squeegee or anything else I tried. When the scratches and bubbles became too much and I finally decided to replace it with a different screen protector, it left about two-thirds of my screen covered in a sticky residue after I peeled it off -- again, something I've never seen a screen protector do over the span of six years and four models of iPhone.

Terrible. Not recommended. Apple should stop selling these.

By Far the Best Screen Protector I have Ever Used

    • Written by from Schwenksville

I received this screen protector for free at the Apple Store because I had received a DOA 5s (within 24 hours) and I was told that they could do nothing about the screen protector I had just installed on the DOA phone. But, after a very brief conversation with a manager, she returned with this screen protector (for FREE).

I immediately figured that you get what you pay for but it was better than nothing.

Upon reading the box, I discovered that there was an "Easy Install Frame" and I thought that was interesting. Believe me, it is not a bullet proof install because I did need to tweak the alignment a bit after the frame was removed but it was not a big deal.

Lastly, bubbles were non existent but the ever present dust that happens no matter what was there. Over the years I have discovered that using scotch tape to lift carefully and also to slip under and get the dust is the only way to get it PERFECT! So, after about 5 minutes total, the screen protector was on and looked PERFECT!

I actually like the cuts and the open bottom by the Home Button as I think it makes the fingerprint sensor easier to use and the top cuts are very precise. It also says Anti-Glare which usually means it is opaque but it is Crystal Clear.

I am VERY HAPPY with it!

    Don't Even Try This

    • Written by from Calgary

This application system is garbage. Honestly don't even trick yourself into thinking its a good idea. Maybe it fits better on the 5s but I went through both of my films and now have to go buy a different brand due to the fact that dust was allowed to recollect from the lifting the film (tab 1) and an unbelievable amount of bubbles formed from laying the film (tab 2).

    Wow! Awesome.

I've always hated applying film protectors in the past. How fast and easy was this? Took about 5 minutes. ONLY issue? So flawless that I seriously couldn't tell whether I had applied it. Thought maybe I'd screwed up and that the film hadn't attached to screen. Nope. It's there, and it's incredible.

    Believe the Bad Reviews

    • Written by from WAYNE

I bought a new iPhone 5S yesterday and bought the Belkin film in the Apple store on the recommendation of their employee. I stumbled through the installation of the first film, and I now have air bubbles all over the screen. The only instructions were 7 confusing pictures, and in end I never did figure out how to use the "Easy Install Frame." Why didn't Belkin invest a few pennies and provide written instructions? Terrible. Back to the store I go to get an employee to install the film after wasting the first film.

Had an in-store employee apply the film

    • Written by from Beaufort

Tried a staples brand film and had to return it due to both user error and faulty directions. Had an apple employee install this one and it's actually pretty great, see a lot of negative reviews but they are all user errors. I highly suggest allowing someone with experience to do this ad it took almost no time and the methods he used to clear the bubbles were extremely impressive. Also getting two films for under 20$ isn't bad at all and the texture is actually more comfortable than the glass without it. After previewing this I do realize it sounds fake but honestly it's a great cover

Great in theory, poor in execution

    • Written by from Scottsdale

ON the face of it, this appears to be a solid product. A bit pricy, but it would seem they have made advancements in how the film is applied, which is great and welcome. The problem is that out of the box, one of the films had clear damage, which I tried to cut off, only to find that this created other problems. The second film had a black spec, which sort of looked like a micro bead under the film, and upon trying to remove it, the film was scratched. Very easily I might add. I was surprised by the fragility of this product!

Anyway, next was to call Belkin, and after 3 attempts, couldn't get through. Thanks for a mediocre product backed by mediocre service and support.

Find another anti-glare product, save some money, and hope for the best. This product really doesn't cut it.

I HATE THIS PRODUCT. It is absolutely terrible. The easy frame is totally non-sensical. The directions on the box were not helpful in any way, shape, or form. I finally got it to work and there were bubbles on the screen that I could not get off. Terrible product. If possible, I would give this thing negative stars.

    Anti-Glare Easy Frame

    • Written by from Victoria

This is bar none the best screen protector on the market. If you take the time (and PATIENCE) to get it on correctly, you can't even tell it's there. If you don't have patience for working with little adjustments, don't even attempt to put on a screen protector, any of them, not just this one. You'll get frustrated and give up leaving bubbles. The trick to the Belkin screen applicator is if you get bubbles (dirt) trapped underneath on first/second/third..... etc try, then use the adhesive patch they give you to A) remove the layer you just put down and B) USE IT TO REMOVE THE DIRT OFF THE SCREEN PROTECTOR!!! Nobody should have to use their second applicator, if you get dirt/dust underneath, remove, sticky the dirt off, and place back on.

    Nice quality screen protector

    • Written by from Chicago

I have read some reviews and see a pretty consistent message with dissatisfaction. I however had a fairly trouble free experience. Directions seemed clear to me as you pop on the frame, remove film labeled one, lay protector down from top to bottom, squish out bubbles, and remove plastic film labeled two. Now what I do is I keep a can of compressed air by me to blow all dust away prior to and during install because the plastic protectors are statically charged and naturally attract dust. The green application frame I thought was genius because I didn't have to worry about trying to line this thing up straight. My first one went on trouble free with no bubbles, or blemishes. The other trick is scotch tape. If you do get bubbles, don't worry. Take two pieces of scotch tape, place one on corner of screen protector about half inch on and half off, use this to lift the screen protector up off he phone. Don't lift it off completely, just enough to expose where your trapped dust got stuck to the screen protector. Now take the second piece of tape turned upside down and stick the sticky side of tape to sticky side of raised screen protector where dust got stuck. When you peel the tape away the dust will stick to step leaving the screen protector dust free. Now you can lay the screen protector back down free of dust bubbles. You can do this with any brand screen protector. Some even come with pieces of tape to use this technique in the event dust gets trapped between the screen and screen protector. Hope this helps.

THE most pathetic screen cover I've ever seen

    • Written by from Knoxville

Wish I could rate this 0 stars. The pack comes with two screen covers and both were wasted in the application process. They also both had scratches on the film that was there previous to opening the package. There are incredibly vague illustrated instructions with no words whatsoever. There is a sticker on the screen protector with enough adhesive to hold a building together that will not come off. Even if you try to scratch it off, the screen cover will be ruined because of the scratch marks and bending the cover in the process. This is the biggest waste of $20 I've spent in a while. DO NOT BUY. BE ASHAMED BELKIN.

Worthless. Use a credit card, like the old days.

    • Written by from Allendale

Directions consist of rotten pictures and no words. It laid out a layer of dust on my pristine phone. A piece of junk. The first pack I purchased had a wadded-up film tucked in the box. I thought it was just teenagers fooling with it. Now I know it was an irate customer slapping it back on the display. What a waste of money. DO NOT BUY.

This product does not even come close to being effective.
it does not adhere correctly, leaves many air pockets. the number tab 2 does not come off the film clean, leaves paper and adhesive on film

    Avoid...Here's Why:

    • Written by from Las Vegas

    My experience with this product:

    1. Use enclosed sticky piece to remove all dust from the iPhone
    2. Click on "easy guide" to set up putting on the film
    3. Carefully following the steps, remove the adhesive covering from the film and put onto iPhone.
    4. Realize that using the frame and it's adhesive covering according to the directions puts even more dust on to the iPhone face when you lower your new anti-glare film to it.

Yes, applying as directed put fresh dust on the iPhone to the point where the film was not usable. I tried again with the second film, wiping the phone again to get off dust and it didn't help. I got ripped off for $20 including tax. I'm very unhappy about that and think that Belkin should be ashamed for scamming customers this way.
