    The "New Yorker" Review

    • Written by from Nashville

If you are searching for a pair of everyday in-ear headphones that fit comfortably, do not fall out, sound amazing, and are so deafeningly insulated from random strangers asking for directions that they become enraged at your irresponsiveness and attempt to fight you, look no further than the Bowers & Wilkins C5.

Most comfortable earbuds on the market

    • Written by from Brooklyn

It's the comfort that makes the C5 shine. They don't go in your ear at all. They gently rest at the entrance of your ear canal, forming a perfect seal that isn't fussy in the least. These headphones will never fall out or start to hurt. I've had mine for over a year.

    Big B&W fan

    • Written by from Jersey City

I've owned P5,s and the P7 as well as these C5's. I have to say in general the sound and build quality of B&W headphones are second to none. However, the C5's are an exception to that general rule. There is most definetly a recurring wiring flaw on these headphones. When the C5's worked they were terrific in terms of sound quality. The problem is that after a very short period of time, about 5 weeks, the right earbud started to cut in and out and eventually died. I contacted B&W customer service and they were terrific, sending me out a new set of C5's. Again great sound and enjoyed wearing them, but after 4 weeks I encountered the exact same issue - right ear bud cutting out and then dying completely.
This is obviously not an isolated incident, judging by the reviews here. If B&W can fix the problem I'd have no problem in giving these headphones 5 Stars and recommending them to friends. As it stands I can't recommend them.

    Disappointed

For the price, I was expecting a smarter build. The inline remote is too round and it takes a while to find the correct side to press when changing volume. The center barely has enough of a different thickness. I find myself looking down at it every time I want to use it. The loop is certainly creative, but it feels like it changes the shape of my ear and is not too comfortable. The sound quality is good and they block a lot of outside noise.

Good sound quality, poor component quality

    • Written by from Abbotsford

I have adored these headphones for 3 years. And in that time, I've gone through 3 pairs!! The sound is lush and deep, the headphones are as pretty as can be, but the components are extremely prone to break down. The first pair kept cutting out in the right earbud. The second pair gave me intense static shock whenever I took them out walking. The third pair is dying like the first - cutting out in the right earbud with the issue at the point where the earphone wires connect. B&W customer service is fantastic in that they've been understanding and fast with replacements whenever I've had an issue. But every single pair I've laid hands on is a lemon. 3/3 is leading me to believe there is a consistent flaw in production or design - other reviews seem to corroborate this. Fix it B&W! I can't live without these headphones (when they work.)

These are my favorites for the price

I have tried at least a dozen or so in-ear headphones, including the beats, Bose 20i, two different Logitech, Harman Kardon‎ and various RHA to name a few. For the price I believe these are the best sounding bang for your buck. I actually liked the sound better than any of the others that I have tried for under $300.

I would strongly suggest trying the fit on these before you buy... they have a very unique built-in loop that I could see some people not being comfortable with. For me they fit well and help keep the headphones in my ears.

    Disappointed

I was amazed by the sound quality when I received this product, truly amazing.
However it felt like it couldn't fit properly in my ears. I have big ears and even though you can reduce the size of the loop, you can't increase it. It's always falling off and changing the ear tips doesn't help.
I lost the phone function after few weeks (it felt by itself).
After few months, the left ear will stop working (volume really low) after few minutes of utilization.

    I wouldn't recommend this product.

    AMAZING HEADPHONES

I recently purchased a pair of Bowers & Wilkins C5, and yes at first I messed around trying to figure out just how that loop stays in my ear, in my case my ears are small I guess and I had to just adjust the loop down a size. Once in They are the most comfortable set of headphones I have ever personally owned, much more comfortable that apples own headphones. I also own a pair of Harmon Kardon AE headphones which fall in line with the pricing of the Bowers & Wilkins C5 for comparison. The Harmon Kardon sound great, however after listening to Ultra on the Bowers, there is a noticeable difference in smooth sound quality. These Headphones are definitely worth every cent if you listen to music a lot and care for quality. Just a side note I use them at the gym on the machines and have had no issues yet, and if you order a pair of Comply foam tips for them, its the perfect match!

    Not well made

I really like B+W products. The sound quality on these are great, typical B+W. Healthy base, but not overdone. Unfortunately 3 weeks after buying them the phone function broke down. I still held on to them, loving the sound. but 5 months in the left ear started crackling/cutting out. Lots of bad wiring.
