    Buy this case!

    • Written by from El Paso

I went through two Speck cases before I purchased this one. The Tech 21 case looks great, feels great, protects my MB Air and has lasted over a year without showing any wear.

    Expensive but Impressive

    • Written by from Thornwood

I felt like I should write a review for anyone on the fence about this product. For the longest time I debated about getting this device for my MacBook Pro 15" and finally pulled the trigger. I am so happy I picked this up, it makes my laptop feel so secure and makes it look twice as nice.

Unlike a Speck case, the impact technology on this thing is actually designed to protect the machine. Have not dropped it yet and surly hope I don't but knowing it's on gives me a peace of mind knowing that I have invested in my machines preservation.

I use my machine with products like Avid MC & the Adobe Suit and really keep in mind overheating and as far as I am concerned that should not be an issue. I have not done longer edits then 2 hours at a time but I have a feeling that with the lower cutouts for the bottom vents along with the mesh that separates the laptop with the exterior plastic there is room for breathing.

If you think you would like this case you will! Go out and invest in your expensive machine.

Does not fit MacBook Air (13-inch, Early 2015)

    • Written by from Brookline

Just (03.25.2015) returned one of these to the store. The case seems awesome but it does not fit on a MacBook Air (13-inch, Early 2015). The top cover snaps on perfectly; but the bottom half remains loose and does not snap on the back(hinge axis).

    Good not great

    • Written by from Windsor

I purchased this after breaking two cheaper cases in three months. When comparing this to the previous
cases it is so similar in apparent quality it is tough to say for sure it will be any better; for the money it had better.I would feel more comfortable if it had a limited lifetime warranty rather than the one year.

The top and bottom fit securely and the tabs holding them on seem considerably stronger than my past cases. The feet are also good scratch resistant rubber. The rubber liner is a neat addition but I think the claims of extra protection are dubious but who want to test it out on a thousand dollar computer?

All in all the case is good but without a lifetime warranty or a lower price it is not great.

    Too heavy

    • Written by from Fort Myers

Just received the case in the mail, and while I'm happy with the fit, quality and aesthetics, I'm not happy with the weight. I didn't realize just how heavy this thing actually is. The case weights .827 pounds, which increases the overall weight of the computer (13" Air) by 28%--that's a lot, at least too much for me.

If weight is not a concern of yours, then this case seems like a winner. However, because you own an Air, I presume weight is a concern...

Love the look, but not so great after all.

    • Written by from Coppell

This case was great until my laptop fell, with the case on, a whopping 3 feet from the ground. The case cracked and so did my new retina display 13 inch MacBook Pro. Then after about two weeks the screen pixels started to die. Luckily my university provides an extended warranty for my computer and Tech21 has a 1 year warranty on the case, so it ended up costing me only $400 out of my warranty. I'll be sending this back to the company shortly to take advantage of the warranty, but beware if you're prone to dropping things or want something that actually might protect your device.

    I'm happy with this purchase

First I would like to state that I have never tried any other laptop case. I read reviews on several other cases and they all raised concerns about durability. The reviews for the Tech21 case were the only ones that all reviews were positive. Granted, there were only 5 reviews but they all were positive. I only have a few things I would like to say about this case.
    1) The fit is good, there is no slipping of the computer in the case.
    2) The feel is good, this seems to be a well manufactured case with a non-slip feel to the case.
    3) The Apple logo shows through the case when the computer is turned on, this was not important to me but it was to my wife.
The price is substantial but if you want a good, durable case then I think it is worth the cost.

To all reading this review.... BUY THIS CASE RIGHT NOW! It is so worth the money. I thought the same thing you all thought, "$100.00 dollars?? No thanks!" WRONG ANSWER!! This case is a perfect fit right out of the box and looks sleek and fantastic on my MacBook Air! Like the other reviews say, the Apple logo looks great because it shines through the back of the case! I absolutely love this case and you will too! Protection and style? I'll pay $100.00 for that!

I had three concerns about the Tech 21 Snap Case prior to buying it.
    1. Would it add an unacceptable amount of bulk to my very thin MacBook Air 11 inch computer. Answer: No, the case itself is very thin and after I installed it, I realized it added protection and gave better purchase - it provides a very secure grip. I could retain a grip even with moisture on the case.
    2. Does it fit well. Answer: Perfectly. Easy to install but still form-fitted to the MacBook Air. Their is no room between the Tech 21 and computer. It snaps in place and stays there.
    3. Will it protect my computer. I've banged my computer a few times getting it out of my bag and the case obviously protects from scratches and dings. I haven't dropped the computer, and don't intend to. But a friend who owns a MacBook and has a Tech 21 case has accidentally dropped her computer from waist level to the concrete floor in her garage with no damage done.

For bonus points, the Tech 21 is very stylish and the purple is eye-catching. Additionally, the computer, with the Tech 21 case still fits in a Roo neoprene slip case. And yes, the Tech 21 is a little expensive, but I liked the case so much I bought a Tech 21 case for my iPhone. Excellent product.

    WOW....this is a great cover

I have purchased numerous cases for my Mac Air and many of them never seem to hold up without cracking in the corners. I thought I would try this Tech21 case to see how well it would perform. I just got it and put it on my laptop and couldn't be happier! You can tell this is a substantially better made case than the Speck cases. The price is higher but it's cheaper than having to replace the case every 6 months. The case is still lightweight but fits so snugly around my laptop without any movement at all! This is THE best case to purchase to protect your laptop. Apple got it right with this one........

    GO BUY NOW!!!

    • Written by from Orange

So, originally I had purchased the Speck 13" Satin Case for my MacBook Air because I wanted to protect my laptop from random scratches, but unfortunately after going through three different exchanges, I ended up returning it because the pieces never snapped onto my laptop quite right. As I was leaving the store after my return, I noticed this case. I didn't even know that Tech21 made a snap case for my Macbook Air. Since my entire family uses Tech21 cases for our iPhones and my brother's motorcycle gear uses D30 impact material, this purchase was a no-brainer. Yeah, $100 is a little steep for a snap case, but if you really think about, it's really not too much to protect your investment of $1,000+. Anyway, the case fits perfectly right out of the box, my computer does not over heat with the case on, it now has impact protection (unlike the Speck case), the matte black looks super cool, and yes, you can still see the Apple Logo through it. I definitely recommend this case to everyone. Go buy it now!
