    Wiggle Room, Easily Fixed

    • Written by from Chicago

Great case. Love the feel, the fact that you can see it is solid woven material. It did have a slight bit of wiggle room initially, which drove me crazy. I simply used some black electrical tape, on the inside of the case and taped it directly on the back, two pieces. And in each corner since after taping the back it still slid slightly up and down. Now it fits like a glove! Love it. Of course would be great if it fit like a glove out of the box but I believe the nature of the case being the woven materials is where the challenge lies.

    Fantastic case

    • Written by from Edmonton

I prefer the minimalist approach to cases and have tried several different brands. Most have been a disappointment and either developed cracks or had coatings that scratched easily or started to peel. I checked out the Evutec Karbon S and what a breath of fresh air! Absolutely thin and light but it is tough as nails and offers good protection even for a thin case.

I finally got a chance to try it's protection capabilities yesterday as I watched my 5s in slow motion falling towards a concrete sidewalk. Not a single dent or scratch on my phone after the impact! Scuffed some of the corners up a bit on the Karbon S but that was it. I didn't think it was possible to have any "real" protection from a case this thin but boy was I wrong.

The case is actual carbon fibre so the colour goes right through (no coatings to peel off) and it has an ever so slightly rubberized surface that exponentially improves the grip on my 5s without adding any bulk. As previously mentioned, when my phone hit the ground the corners scuffed a bit and turned a little grey from the exposed carbon fibre (and imbedded concrete dust) but a black sharpie fixed that good as new.

I'm so pleased with this case that I'm now patiently waiting on their new version for the iPad Mini Retina which Evutek says is coming shortly. If you appreciate the minimal approach to cases but still want some protection, this one is a no brainer. Cheers!

Looks nice but poor fit and slippery!

    • Written by from LOS ANGELES

When I first saw this case in the Apple Store I was impressed. The carbon-fiber pattern is gorgeous and the case weighs almost nothing. I normally prefer something a little more protective, but I recently bought a speaker with lightning dock and I have been on a mission to find a good minimalist case with an open bottom to allow docking. This case works great with the dock, and I'm sure the woven Kevlar fibers offer better protection than a simple poly carbonate or plastic clip-on case. Unfortunately this case has two fatal flaws...first the one I got fits rather loose. The phone can actually slide a millimeter or so up and down the case lengthwise which annoys me no end. Looking at other reviews, it seems that some fit perfectly and others are loose. Such variance should be unacceptable to a case manufacturer. I shouldn't have the "try on" several cases at the store to find one that fits. Incidentally, it fits the same on both my personal iPhone 5 as well as my work 5S. Second, while the material feels great in the hand it is extremely slippery. I'm not sure how anyone could consider it "grippy". It's smooth as silk and if I'm not gripping it tightly, it pretty much just oozes out of my fingers. Sadly, as cool as this case is it's going back.

    Great looking case. Few issues

Great looking case. Very slim and feels protective. Almost a 5/5 but many of the aftermarket accessories (apple approved) do not work with it, including the 30 pin adaptor (with cable). Disappointed to say the least. Other than hat nice looking case.

Adds no bulk but collects dust

    • Written by from Lansdale

This case adds no bulk to the phone; you can barely feel it on there. The phone has survived many drops that I thought would have cause damage. Where this case falls about is protection from scratches. The ends of the case are open so the phone collects nicks, and there is a small gap between the back of the phone and the inside of the case that collects all sorts of dust and particles. I clean it regularly but took it off today to find the back of the phone scratched all over, especially at the edges.

    Military Grade For The Minimalist

    • Written by from Danville

Evutec has held up better than any case I've ever owned. I barely notice it is even in my pocket, and the few time's I've dropped it, it's saved my phone. I used other snap cases that fell off when my phone dropped in the past, but the edges on this case brace for impact while maintaining strength.

    Fantastic

I broke my Apple-made iPhone 5S case today and went searching for a new one. I found this at the Apple store, tried it out, and instantly was sold. It is amazingly light and thin, and provides a little bit of friction with my hand, which is exactly what I need.

Regarding the phone moving around a little inside the case - I had this issue as well. However, I took a little bit of tape - the kind you use to keep rugs from sliding around on a hardwood floor - placed it inside, and now the phone fits perfectly inside.

It's like it is part of the phone!

    • Written by from Chantilly

I just bought this case today and love it! It is by far the sturdiest, sleekest, thinnest case I have ever had for any phone. It really seems like it is part of the phone and not a separate case. The iPhone fits extremely tight in the case, almost too tight. It took me a couple of times to get it out of the case the way the instructions say to do it (which is to push on the camera area on the back and kind of pull the one side) but once I did it, I again see how well designed and tough this case is. I would highly recommend to anyone who wants a rugged, slim case at a good price.

    Finally someone got it right.

    • Written by from Woodbridge

Ever since I switched to iPhone 5 i have been looking for a perfect case that doesn't double the size of the phone. I tried so many brands that worked with iPhone 4, but they were either too bulky, or not durable at all. This case seems to be a perfection of what I like in cases.

I only had it for a week so a test of time is still due. But it seems like this case is really going to last.

Super Slim, Stiff, Durable, Good looking

    • Written by from Santa Barbara

Great looking. Extremely thin yet very Stiff. Unlike those cheap plastic thin cases, once it snaps on, you're gonna really need some effort to take it off. The mat finish seems durable. I've been using this for about 2 months now. Not a sign of wear. Very happy with the purchase.

    Masterpiece.

    • Written by from Albuquerque

I've been through every "slim" case out there and I've never found anything remotely strong or stylish as this case. Most carbon fiber look alike cases are cheap plastic but this thing is legit fiber woven. It's got that gorgeous look that is minimalist enough to seep right into the phones design. It's so durable, I even dropped my phone first day with this case on hard tile floor and noticed not even a mark on the case itself. I honestly prefer this phone naked however this has caused multiple marks on the device, so this case really helps me feel that natural feel the phone has yet protects the heck out of it. Please don't buy this case, I'd like it to be a rarity because it's so unique and awesome!

case has a sharp bur in it

    • Written by from Grants Pass

I love my new case it is slim and looks nice. The only problem I have with it is there is a bur on the back of the case that catches when I slid it in my pocket. I hope it wheres down after time but it it continues or gets worse in the next few weeks I will return it.

    Slim, handsome case

    • Written by from Mountain View

Mine fit like a glove. Feels super light, and the kevlar sticks well in the hand. Super nice case, love it! Can't wait to witness a big drop (like I usually do every once in a while) and see how well it survives. My last cheap plastic case was breaking apart.

    tough, grippy, lightweight, thin, elegant

    • Written by from Springfield

It is grippy, thank cod. I was concerned about that. So I went to the apple store, where it turns out the Evutek cases are in boxes that can be opened so you can directly inspect the product and even try it out on your iPhone. So I did that, although i stupidly put it on my phone upside down with the volume buttons covered - sigh. It is incredibly hard to remove it from the iPhone, which is going to be a problem for me when I need to change the SIM card when traveling outside the US. Hopefully, with practice it will get easier. Anyway, I immediately fell in love with the light weight, thinness, feel, and overall aesthetics of the case. So I bought it, and really love it. I also checked out the Karbon SP, but it just seemed too bulky and heavy in comparison (although not in comparison to other similarly protective cases, and no doubt it offers better protection for drops).

Best iPhone case I've ever used

    • Written by from Dublin

I usually hate having any type of case on my gadgets, they always make it too bulky and take away from the overall feel and design of the device. I've tried most of the cases Apple has available and none of them have met my expectations... until I saw the Evutec Karbon S. This case is different. Incredibly light, adds ZERO bulk to my iPhone and protects it better than any of the other "slim" cases I've used. Fantastic design also, really love the feel of the kevlar. I've dropped my phone multiple times since buying this and its come out 100% fine every time. Finally Apple has a case that complements the iPhone perfectly.

    A little wiggle room

    • Written by from Sherman Oaks

Beautiful case, extremely light and thin. And I buy into the whole Kevlar thing about it providing strength and protection. But there's a little end-to-end wiggle room between the case and iPhone. It's not a glove-tight fit all the way around. So I put the thin film that covers the back of the iPhone 5S into the case and that helped quite a bit. There's still a minute bit of "play" in the case. My friend picked up a much less expensive case and it's very snug. Maybe Kevlar can't be machined like other materials; maybe it was designed for the iPhone 5; or maybe I got a case that should have been a second. It does look great and has a nice feel.
