Does just what I need it to.

    • Written by from Charotte

I had shopped around for a while before I finally broke down and bought this keyboard cover at the apple store. I wasn't too impressed with the price. However, I wanted to keep my macbook pro retina 15" protected and looking new. It took a while to feel more comfortable typing with it, but I consider that neither a pro or a con, since the keyboard isn't going to function the same with a cover on it, regardless.

    Pros:
    Fits great--stays in place
    Looks great
Does exactly what it needs to -- protect the keys
    Keyboard backlight does show through

    Cons:
Price. A bit steep at 24.95 from the Apple store
Occasionally gets caught under the arrow keys if I hit the button a certain way.
On a few keys the text does not match up with the text on the keyboard. This is only affecting the keys with words like Enter, Shift, CapsLock.

    Fairly good.

    • Written by from Burnaby

Very well-made; fits the keys fairly tightly. Snug fit. Feels a bit weird to type on; the edges remain rigid while the centre of the key is depressed. My typing speed's dropped from 120WPM to about 90WPM, but part of it's due to adapting to the softer, more cushiony feel.

Be sure to massage the protector onto the keys. Running your fingers in-between the keys works well.

Blocks the backlighting a little - it's still visible underneath the protector. The backlight on the characters on the keys are faint, but it's functionally not an issue as ambient light from the monitor's good enough to see the keys.

Had the same issue with bottom row keys sticking (i.e. Control, Command, Spacebar, etc). For me it's the left Command key that sticks - seems to happen if I hit it too close to the lower edge or too hard. Seems to be caused by the lower edge of the key remaining rigid and falling down with the key instead of bending inward. I seem to have fixed it by gently massaging/stretching the silicone covering the key. Manufacturer might be able to alleviate problem by lengthening the bottom edge of the protector itself.

    sticky, not fit. BAD.

    • Written by from Hong Kong

This protector is really bad. I love the color. It matches really nicely with the shell for my new mac. However, the protector doesn't fit that well to the computer. The texture of the plastic is also to sticky. I feel like it is stuck to my hands when im typing. I typed so much slower with that protector. After 2 days, I couldnt stand it. I picked out the old protector from my old mac. I have used that protector for 5 years. I would rather use that. so much better.

I guess I don't care to have a colorful keyboard or not. It is frustrating to use when the protector impede my ability to type.

I bought this for my 13 inch MacBook Pro and I love it! It was very easy to install and it types very smoothly. I would recommend this product!

    More cons than Pros

    • Written by from Berkeley

I bought this on impulse for my 15" macbook pro retina.

    It looks beautiful
It adheres nicely to the keys

    But,

the protector edge keeps catching under the lower edge of the spacebar, no matter how I hit it. (occasionally other bottom row keys also)
    it obscures the backlighting
it is reducing my typing accuracy
LBNL does the keyboard really need protecting? I think not

    So, cons>pros. Its going back.

    love it!

    • Written by from WESTMINSTER

Wow, amazed by all the negative reviews. We bought it for the 15" Macbook Pro, it fits beautifully. I have a 17" Macbook Pro and it fits perfectly too. I came on line to order a second one for the the old 17" as it's clear one is worn out and this one fits perfect. Have been using it for 2 days and it is amazing, no issues at all. Question what everyone is talking about as the Macbook keyboards are all the same size and configuration? You just unroll it and drop it on and go??

    Pop-up Protector

    • Written by from Okotoks

The keyboard protector would continuously pop-up as whenever I would press down a key near the outside which is clearly due to a lack in flexibility. It also couldn't fully settle down over the keyboard and just lay on top making key pressing annoying. I would not recommend this to a friend or family member.

    Returning

    • Written by from White Lake

I used it for a few days and it degrades keystrokes causing what we would call "fat finger" mistakes. But my biggest complaint is that it nullifies the lighted keys, it's not a clear membrane but solid colors.

    Great Product!

    • Written by from Savage

I thought I would chime in and offer my opinion since the reviews aren't that favorable for this product. I have been 100 percent satisfied with my MarBlue keyboard cover after 4 months of use. It is really nice to be able to take it off clean, it up with some soap and water, let it dry and put it back on. As far as the comments about the fit, I found it to fit fine and not cause any issues with my typing. The tactile feel of the silicone cover does take some getting used to, but overall it was an easy adjustment. I do appreciate the fact that the cover deadens the clicking sound of the keyboard as you type since I tend to use my Macbook Pro when I travel.

    Wanted it to Work

    • Written by from Flower Mound

I gave this at least two stars because of aesthetics and function of keeping the keys clean/protected. What you gain with the other aspects, you lose in keyboard functionality. It is really difficult to type on and sticks all over the place. I like the feel of the keyboard so much better with it off. Don't waste your money unless you want a clean, cool looking keyboard that stinks to type on.

Works Great on Unibody Macbook 2010

    • Written by from Overland Park

I have one of the old Macbooks - the one with the while plastic body that I bought in August 2010. I chanced buying this cover for the keyboard because my old one was a cheap one off Amazon that got oily UNDERNEATH the cover and didn't fit well. This fit my laptop perfectly, which might be why several reviews don't think it fits the new laptops as well. I love the color and feel and how the cover stays put while typing. I highly recommend if you have an older Macbook.

The Good, The Bad & The Ugly

    • Written by from LOWER SACKVILLE

The Good: It cuts down on key type noise, it feels nice and the colour looks good.
The Bad: It doesn't fit perfectly, especially around the space bar and command key
The Ugly: It does protect your keys from getting dirt in them but the oil from your fingers will make it's way to the screen every time you close your laptop. I don't have scratches on my screen but if you don't mind an oily imprint of your keys covering your screen go for it.

It does what they say it will.

    • Written by from Peace River

First off, you would be surprised how much dirt and debris gets into your keyboard.
After installing (dropping in place) and a few days of use i was blown away by just how much dirt/dust this thing catches.
Well worth the money a few bucks can keep the guts of your laptop dandruff, dirt, hair, and crumb free.
Yes I can see how this could slow typing down a tiny bit as it brings keys a slight bit closer together but after a few hours you get used to it.
Yes I can see how every cover might not fit perfectly, silicone isn't 100% flawless.
Yes the letters look a wee tiny bit off.
BUT! It saves your keyboard and looks pretty cool in the process.
    Overall good product.

    Bad.

    • Written by from Poughkeepsie

I thought this was the cutest thing ever and I still do. but 1. it doesn't fit right - its made for 13in but its almost too big the way that it moves around. 2. It is so uncomfortable, it slows down my typing ability a whole lot with the material of the texture. Given my issues I wouldn't say its worth it; but some people may find it better! Good luck

Difficult and uncomfortable to type but it looks great.

    • Written by from Montreal

I've been trying to use this protector for 3 months, but I'm giving up. It fits my Macbook Air keyboard and my Apple keyboard perfectly and looks great (I have the blue gradient model) but when a key is pressed, there's a little ridge round it. Because of the ridge, I have to lift my fingers higher to type and hit the keys harder and close to the centre. My typing is slower and is full of typos, and my fingers ache. Also, sometimes the cover over the space bar stays slightly depressed (like me when I use this product), and the cursor runs off all by itself. All in all, the product looks great but is horrible to use.

Doesn't fit right on the keyboard

    • Written by from Greenville

This thing does not fit perfectly on the keyboard, especially the space bar. It slips and moves, especially the edges. It will keep dust out of it. Not worth the price I paid for it.
