Terrible headphones enjoyed by the ignorant masses

    • Written by from Denver

I guess ignorance truly is bliss because all of the overwhelmingly positive reviews of these headphones indicate that none of the people purchasing them have any idea what good audio or balance in a soundstage actually means. I believe if you were to have these individuals compare Bose cube speakers vs some honest high quality towers by the likes of Magnepan or Paradigm, even B&W... They'd believe that Bose was a bargain and that the other speakers had no right costing so much more. Absolutely hilarious.

Beats Studio 2.0 versus Sennheiser Momentum

    • Written by from Vancouver

I own the Sennheiser Momentum and Beats Studio 2.0 headphones. The Sennheisers are super for home listening. They have a natural sound that balances bass and treble beautifully. They are also incredibly light for an over-the-ear headphone. And they look great, without being flashy. I bought the Beats for their active noise cancelling function as I travel a lot. They are also great - especially their ability to remove the drone of air travel - but are a little bass-heavy. The design is a little shout for me (look at me, I bought beats!!). They also weigh 70% more the the Sennheisers, which can be fatigueing. Bottom line, if you are shopping for a $300 over-the-ear headphone then either of these will be good for you. Just decide if you need noise cancelling.

    Earpads pulling apart

    • Written by from San Francisco

Sounds great, much better in all ways than the original. However. After six months, the earpads have been coming apart at the seams. Beats Support tells me you can't get new earpads, you need a whole new unit. They'll be happy to replace my Beats, but it will involve me shipping my current unit to them and then waiting for the replacement to be sent to me. It'll take a month of turnaround. All for an earpad whose seam should never come part to begin with.

I was hesitant at first at buying these bc of the hefty price tag, but I broke down and got em anyway. These headphones sound amazing. They are comfortable. They're just great. Best headphones I've ever owner. I'm a college student, so I am always on the go and they are always around my neck. They're not too big or bulky.
If you have the money or are considering these as a gift, I would say get them. Excellent headphones.

    A Must Have!

    • Written by from Denver

I am not exactly a headphone buff, just a normal guy who appreciates good quality and functionality. With that said, I absolutely cannot imagine any kind of headphone being able to surpass these. The sound clarity is phenominal, have excellent noise cancellation, and they can definitely be listened to at high volume with no noticable distortion (trust me ive tried). They are lightweight with a sleek design (I got mine in red), and easy to pack up or carry around. They charge up quickly, and, as far as I can tell so far have great battery life once charged. I honestly cant wait until my next long flight to really put these to use! Highly recommended!

    Beats studio headphones

    • Written by from pueblo

At one point in my life I considered myself a little bit of an audiophile. I read reviews and looked for the latest and greatest products for great sound quality. As I grew older and started having children my need for new equipment changed. Recently I decided that I wanted to get a new set of headphones. I feel like I have had many different pairs throughout the years. I have had everything from Bose to whatever was being sold at the airport because mine some how broke (kids). Before commiting to the Beats I tried a lot of different headphone. I believe the Beats Studio Headphones are the best product out there. The noise concelation is awesome. I love the ability to recharge them and not rely on batteries. I really like the red color, it makes it very easy to find. The sound quality is GREAT! I reccomend these headphones to any and everyone looking for headphones!

    Better than before!

    • Written by from Gatineau

Maybe like many people who bought the Beats Studio, I was amazed by the very stylish look of it. My first pair of headphone was the old Beats Studio, and at that time and still now, it's one of the most stylish headphones on the market!

That's been said. As for the sound quality, my first impression of the old and new beats is the same: They do NOT worth the money for the sound. The lows are very impressive, but the mids and highs are not very good.

This new beats has definitely improved over the old ones. It can pick out all the major details (NOT ALL) as it claims but then boost the sound of every detail up so you can hear it "clearly". The result is a big chaos in music, no layers, no depth, unnatural and harsh on the eardrums.

So, I would say, Beats Studios are for those who like heavy bass music and influenced by its heavy marketing. Otherwise I would highly recommend the Sennheiser Momentum which has a far better sound quality but lacks of bass (By the way, it's German!).

These beats are a must have. The sound quality is amazing and they are incredibly comfortable. Plus, the design is beautiful and you just feel great wearing them. Now, if I can only keep them away from my kids who keep taking them. Looks like I know what to get them for Christmas!

I'm pretty impressed with the beats. My dad got them for me about a month ago and they sound great. They work great for gaming and they have a mic too, All you need to do to speak into the computer is buy a small $7 adapter. I hear sounds I never heard before with the beats. The Noise Cancellation is pretty awesome and they look really cool too!

    Top Notch Headphones

    • Written by from Corona Del Mar

These new beats are the best headphones I have owned. They are sleeker than other headphones (including older beats) and the rechargeable feature is cool too. But most importantly they offer the highest sound quality and the best noise cancellation technology of any headphones I have tried. I also like the cool packaging and how light they feel even when you have them on for hours. Highly Recommended!

I am very impressed by these headphones. Great sound fidelity, all around. Nice selection of accessories (cables, USB charger, case). Love the fact that they are rechargeable and the battery meter is sleek and easy to read.

I was especially surprised by how good the noise cancelling is. Neighbor was mowing the lawn and I didn't even notice.

    Great job Dre!
