    Why so many bad reviews?

I will grant you, it isn't the "easiest" shell to apply. Just take your time. Pay attention to where the grip points are on the case so you know exactly where to apply pressure. Again, go slow. You'll click one side in and another part might pop out. That's ok! You'll get the hang of how to get them all clicked and covering the computer. Once they're on, it's the perfect shell for the Air. You never have to worry about all those incidental scratches that make the soft aluminum look terrible over time. The rubberized feet give it the perfect amount of lift for typing.

I do NOT work for Speck, btw. My college-age daughter has had one for a while. I read all these reviews, asked her if it was bad, and she said she loves it. I do too.

    Works great, looks great!

I purchased this case to protect my MacBook Air and not only does it give me piece of mind when traveling, but it also looks and feels wonderful. The soft satin touch isn't like the regular plastic shells, it's a more textured feel which give me better grip on my computer when holding it. It's also protective, and I feel my computer is safe from everyday bumps and knocks because this case is literally always covering it. Add all that to the sleek black look which is still transparent enough to see the Apple logo light up, and this is probably one of the best cases I've ever purchased!

    Works like a charm

I bought the glossy hard case for my first macbook and it lasted for years. Second time around I went with this satin case and I like the grippy feel. It snaps on easily and does what it's supposed to, nothing broke but then again; I do not plan to take my case off and on. I only wish they made a clear-satin case.
