    Nothing like it!

I've been looking for a "slim" bag to carry my tech around. I travel a lot so I didn't want anything too bulky. This bag fits perfectly under the seat in front of me on the plane and with the built-in Grid everything I need is at my finger tips. LOVE IT!!!

    Best backpack I've ever owned

    • Written by from Hewlett

I've had this backpack since early July and LOVE it. Even with a laptop and iPad and all my items in the front GridIt pocket, it remains thin, easy to carry, and easy to find my stuff. The exterior material adequately protects the insides from the elements, and the back padding + straps are very comfortable.

    Highly recommended.

One of the best backpacks ever!

    • Written by from Canton

I use this for school, so that means I have a calculator, six folders, my iPad, a notebook, and occasionally my Macbook Pro. It fits everything great and stays slim!

The bands are great organizers and it lets you stand out at school :D

It hasn't leaked yet and nothing seems to be breaking, so sweet :D

Slim, efficient, perfect size, and superbly designed

I have been looking for a pack that would hold my 15" Macbook Pro and iPad for a long time. There are of course many packs, messenger bags, and brief cases that can do this. However, my criteria are as follows:
    1. it should be a pack because this presents the least strain for carrying it.
    2. it must be able to fit and organize the accessories for the two devices
    3. it should be small so that one is not tempted to put too much other stuff
    4. it should be tough to withstands the rigors of traveling around the world.
    5. it should look good enough so that one doesn't look like one is going camping

The cocoon fit all these criteria. It is a pack. It has a flat compartment where you can organize and fit all your accessories in a way that you can see and get to everything quickly. It is very compact, about 4 inches thick when zipped. It is quite tough. Finally, it looks good enough to go into a boardroom or a lecture hall, without straps and other paraphernalia that afflict mountain climbing packs. It fits under all airplane seats with room to spare for a second small bag.

    Best pack I've ever onwned!

    • Written by from Ste-Marthe-sur-le-lac

I take a commuter train to work everyday and wanted a pack I could put on my lap and then put my MBP on top for me to type on. I was then looking for something slim and as flat as possible.

This pack caught my eye but just looking at it on the web was not enough for me to make sure it would fit the bill. I went to my local Apple Store and was delighted to see they had it in stock. As soon as I had it in my hands I knew I had a winner.

The pack is light and the materials top notch. The interior is made of a very soft faux suede that will not scratch your tech. There is a compartment for your laptop and one for your iPad. Another is available for a magazine or some docs.

The grid compartment is incredibly useful. You can organize all your stuff the way you want and nothing will move during transport.

Get this pack, you will be happy you did.

    Compact little backpack

    • Written by from Amherst

The backpack is about 0.5 lbs heavier than is typical of other bags. This is probably attributable to the material used in the Grid system. However, the additional weight is goes unnoticed once the backpack is donned, probably because of its slim profile enabling it to maintain your current center of gravity.
One negative of the bag is caused by its most attractive feature: its slim profile. The slimness of the bag prevents placing anything in the bag of a modicum of girth. For example, I could barely fit a bottle in the bag. It could only fit at the top.
One positive aspect of the extreme tightness of the bag is that it isn't necessary to zip it up all the way to keep ones belongings secure. I can keep the top open for quick access without worrying about anything falling-out.

VERY BAD quality. What a disappointment!!

    • Written by from Davis

I bought this on October last year. I wanted to invest money in a good quality product to protect my also expensive Macbook Pro. The zippers started having troubles after the first month of use. A month ago, one of them simply would not work anymore at all, causing me to lose my wallet, since one of the pockets opened just like that. Don't buy it! Invest in good quality elsewhere. I wish I could return or exchange it now.

The perfect case for a 15" MBPr & iPad Air

    • Written by from Nashville

This backpack is absolutely phenomenal. Lappy and tablet fit very nicely in their compartment and the accessory grid space is perfect for cables, external drive, and whatnot that becomes giant rats nests in other bags. The ONLY concern I have found: one of the product photos suggest placing the power block in a pocket in the laptop compartment. I felt that would exert pressure on the lappy and tablet. But they include a nice velcro strap that integrates into the grid on the other side. I use that to wrap up the power block and it doesn't push on the hardware at all. As the title suggests, I have recently upgraded all my gear. Lots of fun, new, shiny things but this backpack may be my favorite part. If I could give it six stars, I would.

    Perfect bag for tech professionals

    • Written by from Palo Alto

This is a really cool backpack. It's very comfortable, very slim and quite stylish. (reminds me of an older TUMI bag I have which is 3x the price). The best part is the integrated grid-it in the entire front pocket. I've bought 3 different sized Grid-Its before to use in my other bags but the grid inside this backpack is just so much better designed because is it not only very large but the layout of the rubber bands make it very easy to organize both big and small items. The only downside is there isn't very much room to carry books and other non-tech gadgets.

Huge disappointment. Had to replace the first one because of lousy stitching. The second one had good stitching but the zippers fell apart on the second week. Horrible quality control. I don't recommend it.

    This bag is Awesome!!!

I got this backpack for Christmas and I absolutely LOVE IT!!! Its very well made, and the Built-in GRID-IT system is perfect! I put all of my stuff in the GRID-IT system and I shook the bag like crazy with the flap open but my stuff didn't move! It fits my Mac book Pro perfectly, I can still fit my iPad, a book (about an inch thick) and some documents in a manila folder! Just a great bag! would recommend to anyone looking for a good backpack to keep their electronics organized and safe!

I just purchased this and once I transferred all of my current backpack belongings over to this one, I quickly realized it would be a wonder. I absolutely love how slim it remains! I will be going out of town in a few weeks and I am already excited about my plane experience with a backpack this slim!

I'm one of those people who rarely write reviews, even though I rely on reviews constantly. This bag deserves every good review it can get! I've had my bag about two months now, using it on weekdays to and from the office. This is by far the best bag I've ever used for my laptop (13" MBP). I was previously using a neoprene sleeve with handles and two pockets. I have a nasty habit of loading my bags down with nonsense, so once I saw the grid system I knew it would stop me from throwing random things in the bag. I don't bring my iPad to work, but I see it has that nice spot to fit in. I keep my charger (with extended length) and day planner in the pouch in the bigger portion of the bag, and a small spiral notebook and a few pens in the front. The grid is filled with two external harddrives, flash drives, usb cables and my mouse. I am constantly impressed at the size and weight distribution. I've had some 8.5x11 notebooks in here too, back with the laptop and it hasn't added to the size very much at all. The bottom has proven itself to be waterproof/resistant on more than one occasion, same with the zippers. Nothing has shown any signs of breaking, which is a good thing. The only thing that did was the small Cocoon logo that is on one of the straps. It is anchored by two points, by the first and last O, so the C broke off at some point. Everything else is still beautiful though! No signs of wear, no tarnishing on the metal accents and zippers. I have been recommending this to anyone who will listen, and will be buying some as gifts.
