Fabulously simple to set up and fabulous sound

    • Written by from SANDBACH

i had a really cheap guitar to USB interface but experienced latency issues, crackling and pops - i get none of that with the Apogee ONE and the microphone is super too. An all round fantastic product.

    Ooh-wee!

I also had a challenge with the first unit I bought, but Apple's customer service is second to none, so it was simple to exchange for another one, which so far, knock wood, works fine. The built in mic is good and handy for capturing ideas on the fly. Using the breakout cable and the xlr to plug in an external mic takes this to another level. The sound is drop dead gorgeous, thanks to Apogee's conversion and pre amps. At least as great as the Duet 2 on my Macbook Pro. It turns the iPad into a mobile pro rig. It's beautiful! Couldn't be happier.

The perfect device for traveling home studio

    • Written by from Playa Del Rey

The Apogee One is a great home-studio recording tool.

I love the mobility of this device. I can take it anywhere and easily hook it up to any of my devices & still get a consistent quality sound.

Definitely a lot of bang for your buck!

    Disappointment from Experienced Apogee User

    • Written by from New York

I'm still playing with the ONE, but I have not been impressed so far.

The build quality is far inferior to my old Duet (I expected much more from Apogee): the back battery cover does not sit flush with the case, sticking up and fitting at an awkward diagonal (only a cosmetic problem I concede); the mini-USB that plugs into the ONE easily pops out with any slight movement of the cord, frustrating when it comes out when recording. For a product at this price, I expected much better.

I have not tested with a real microphone yet, but the built in microphone seems alright for demos, but not much more.

Though I'm reluctant, I am seriously contemplating returning the ONE and moving beyond Apogee.

    Crackle/Distortion Problems

    • Written by from Durham

Used this with 2013 iMac, all software for mac and firmware for One is up to date. Got very prominent distortion would appear suddenly during playback over everything after about 10 minutes of playback time when working on arrangements. I could temporarily fix the issue by relaunching Logic Pro X, but the problem come back in another 10 minutes or so. I am surprised to see this huge problem with Apogee gear.

I googled to find solutions and was concerned to see that I am not the only one experiencing this issue. Will be returning this to the Apple store. Thankfully Apple Store response to customer concerns is usually very helpful.

    Great Product!

The Apogee One is super cool. I am a professional guitar player and am always on road. I rarely get the time to be in a studio so I have to resort to portable recording. I have tried numerous products that have not worked out so well. I recently purchased the Apogee One and it has been a game changer for me! I use it on the bus with my iPad mostly and it is perfect for getting down those ideas that previously had been hard to record in a professional way. I usually don't write reviews but i highly recommened this product for the at home musician or if you're like me and seem to always be on the road.
