I'm picky as h3ll and I love them. But they're not for everyone.

Nowadays, people are obsessed with bass in their music. I love bass, don't get me wrong, but once I got past my pair-of-tens-in-the-trunk days, I started to focus on balance. Balance is what you get from the H3s. They...sound....so....good.

Quick cons: $200+ with no sound cancelling, whaaa? .... no Android functionality (I know you don't care)....requires an equalizer to really nail the sound

The B&O sound profile is similar in most of their products: warm, controlled, tight, detailed and bright. If you like to really hear all the tones going into your music, these are excellent earbuds. The comfort factor is high and the one-piece machined aluminum design is simply gorgeous. As an Apple user, you should already be comfortable with paying extra to have the most beautiful product available, so no big surprise there.

However, if you're into rich, deep bass above all else - Do not pass Go, do not spend $200. These are not for you. In fact, if you're really into bass, earbuds are a poor investment in general due to the lack of space within which to create the necessary level of air pressure to create a sufficient low-frequency soundstage. But that's a rant for another time.

It is worth mentioning that on a naked audio source, if you're picky like me, these won't sound as satisfying. But I'm nuts about my audio so after spending 20 or so minutes tuning my device's equalizer presets, I was in paradise. The set can actually push some detailed and respectable bass and those highs can be as bright and sharp as you want them to be.

To sum it up, I pretty much have these in my ears all day now.

Overall the design is elegant and very comfortable. The sound around you is partially isolated. To get more BASS out of the headphones I set the EQ to "Loudness". With this setting the headphones give me the sound I am looking for.
