    Great analyzer

    • Written by from San Diego

I ordered this before it came out so had a few issues that have been resolved by firmware updates already. (C02 was way off) The weight is accurate and easy. Like all scales that get body fat %/lean mass % is not accurate, however it is consistent making it useful. The heart rate monitor is cool. You can also add your heart rate manually via the app.

The integration on line with other apps is great.

    Great Scale!

    • Written by from Franklin

This scale is fantastic! I understand $150 is A LOT for a scale, but this is well worth it if you are interested in finding a good way to track your health and/or weigh loss progress and love high tech gadgets. The Withings App is simple to use and keeps your data at your fingertips and allows easy sharing to your health practitioner of your choice. It's not for everyone, but if you want a high end scale that does it all this is my recommendation. We also have the Blood Pressure Monitor, and the Baby Monitor on an unrelated note, which is worth a look as well.

Good tool to track your progress.

    • Written by from nepean

If you're serious about your nutrition/fitness goals this scale is a great tool. The online weight and fat tracking graphs are great. The one negative I would say is that it's a bit expensive for what it is. But if you're serious about your goals this may be a good tool to have.

Only the Weight and Air Quality Measurements are Reliable

    • Written by from Cincinnati

The heart rate and fat mass measurements are all over the place. I'm a 20's something male with a healthy BMI and on other devices it tells me my resting heart rate is 60-70. This scale 90% of the time tells me my heart rate is 90+ bpm with many of them being 100+bpm.

The carpet feet are a joke unless you actually have extremely cheap carpeting so be prepared to place it on a hard surface. The only reliable thing about this scale is it's weight and air quality measurements. Overall I would NOT recommend this product. I tried contacting support and they blew me off saying they were aware of the issue but didn't provide any further information. Is it hardware related? Do I need to RMA my unit? It is software related? When is the patch coming. Very disappointing experience for a pricey scale.

    Don't waste your money

    • Written by from Magog

I had high expectations for this products as it could provide feedback as I am trying to lose weight. Setting it up was easy although there was definitely lack of instructions about using the app.
For a while I was happy as I was regularly loosing weight. Then I got suspicious about the readings as my girlfriend's weight was getting abnormally low and you could not really tell by looking at her. We then tried our old scale and found a huge discrepancy.
I read the support on the company's website and tried to do a reset by removing the battery. Still totally wrong. I can weight myself 4 times at one-minute interval and get 4 different readings with a discrepancy in excess of 10 pounds.
I may as well as my girlfriend to look at me and guess my weight. Total waste of money. Too bad, I'd like it to work.

    I wouldn't recommend this product

    • Written by from Coquitlam

This scale definitely looks fancy enough to make your room a better environment but unfortunately this product's isn't worth the money. I ordered this product online and waited for so long to get it but when I tried to put it in my room (thin carpet floor), it didn't give me a right weight even with the carpet stands... so I brought it downstairs and it worked fine for the first and second week until yesterday. Me myself is a 88kg guy, and yesterday when I stepped on the scale, it gave me a weight of 84, second time 85 and third time 85. I tried my another normal scale and it gave me the right weight 88kg. I gave a few more try on the withing scale but it still gave me the wrong weight and the number was slowly increasing every time I stepped on it. I dunno what's wrong with it but I decided to return this product and hope my review helps to people who is considering this product. If you still want to buy it then I think just go ahead since apple provides a great after-sell service and you got nothing more than after-sell service to worry about.

    Now Worth Money. Flawed.

    • Written by from Mequon

I've had the Withings Smart Body Analyzer for a few months now, and I would say it's definitely not worth the money and is still not ready for prime time.

If you stand on the scale three times in a row, you will get three different weights, which makes me question it's accuracy.

The heart rate measurement only works 1 in 4 times. I would say on average I have to stand on the scale 2-4 times before I get a measurement, and they are all over the place.

The scale only sends data to their app, so I end up having to manually enter it for the other two apps I use, which really defeats the purpose of having the thing.

I wouldn't waste your money on this flawed product.

    Disappointment

    • Written by from Edmonton

Interface for iphone, not hd, not easy to use but what is worse... Weight reading is quite inaccurate (can change +/- 0.5 kg between one measurement and the other and the measurement is abt 1 kg lower than the real value) and.... It does not work on the carpet, even if it is not particularly thick...i think it will go back to Apple....

Unfit to Be Sold by Apple

    • Written by from Berkeley

I've had my Withings scale for approximately four months. Other than being beautiful, it's proven to be a mediocre product unworthy of being sold by Apple.

The weight is consistently off by between 1 - 2 lbs. We know this because we use a medical-grade scale at the gym almost daily. The heart rate monitor also is completely inaccurate. I have a resting pulse of 60, yet the scale rates me between 75 and 99 every morning upon rising from bed.

The real problem, however, is the wireless connection. Invariably, it fails after one full day, requiring a cumbersome reset and re-sync. The batteries are charged, yet the wireless connection fails after working for approximately one day. This began happening after a firmware update and has been this way for almost three months.

I would not purchase this product knowing what I now know about it.

    Somewhat flawed

    • Written by from Ottawa

I've been using this scale for about 3 months now; initially, I had a heck of a time pairing it with my iPad 4th-gen over Bluetooth. Took 4-5 tries, but once I was connected and the scale weighed me properly, I had few issues. The key is that you need to install the Withings free iOS App and select and synchronize the Scale. This will check if there's a Firmware update, and i've had two so far. Sensitivity was increased and tweaked, and it has become better with time. Likewise, if the Scale is not PERFECTLY level on the floor - either carpeted or laminated/tiled/hardwood - essentially, if all four feet aren't making contact on a level floor, you will have wildly different measured weights, and the scale won't associate your weight with your 'account', and then fail at Heart Rate, BMI, Fat%, etc. The Withings App is very good, and ties in to other paid and free Apps that track nutrition etc. But as with other reviews, unless you're standing perfectly perpendicular to the scale, the measured weight will flip-flop all over the place, as much as 5-10 pounds or kilograms, and you will lose patience fast. I've become used to it, and it's the only scale that goes up to shy of 400 lbs.

Can't use the heart rate monitor

    • Written by from Nepean

If you care about the heart rate monitor functionality at all then don't get this scale. It's wrong at least 40% of the time. I had the unit replaced and the new one was just as bad as the one I sent in. And it can be off by 50 beats per minute. Completely useless. And support will just tell you that you are using it wrong. Will never buy another Withings product again.

    Dreadful product... Doesn't work

    • Written by from monmouth

This costs a lot of money. It doesn't work. The weight readings vary by up to 5kg every time I step on (even if that's a couple of minutes after the last time). Half the time, the fat monitor function fails to work at all. It's supposed to recognise me, but hardly ever does. How hard is it to test a product before putting onto the market, to make sure it actually works?

    Lost connectivity

    • Written by from Dartford

Had these scales for a week. The scales have lost connectivity twice in that timeframe and its not syncing with the app. Its a great concept, but seems poorly implemented. I'm going to return them to Apple as I just can't be bothered logging support calls and wasting time. It really should work straight out of the box as advertised.

It was good (but just in the beginning)

    • Written by from Oakville

In the beginning everything was fine, but after 6 months it started to present problems and I contacted the Withings Customer Service. Again, in the beginning the service was good, but after spending one month talking to them and receiving misleading information I'm tired. Hopefully I think the problem will be solved and I should get the replacement the next week. At least that's my hope.

Almost Perfect - GREAT CONCEPT - FOUR STARS

    • Written by from Phoenix

It looks beautiful, very elegant design, looks like a black slab of glass.

Pairs to phone (BlueTooth) and connects to home wireless (802.11) very easily, very well designed integration, it is very EASY, if you just glance at quick start guide.

Once connected, it's rock solid, have had ZERO problems w/it dropping off. Note when batteries ran out, and had to be replaced, I had to re-pair, took all of 15 seconds (AFTER I found quick start, so don't lose it!!!)

Accurate readings for weight, Heart Rate, BF is hard, so I don;t know if accurate, it SEEMS accurate, and then Co2 level, have NO clue why CO2 is measured.

    What I don't like:
I am a cyclist, my weight fluctuates 5-10 lbs after a long ride, normally 205, after a 50-75 mile ride, I might be 195. Scale does not recognize me, so only measures weight, until I tell it it's me, and it passes the data, then I have to weight again, since I ride every week, this happens multiple times a week, a real pain.

Body Fat - I have mine set to Athlete, it appears to provide accurate (between 10-12% on the scale, but when data is passed to app on Phone and web site, that doubles to 20%-22%, which is NOT accurate.

For the BF, seems like just a bug, for 1st issue, there should be a fix for that too, especially since I am only one using scale.

Those two issues drop from 5 stars to 4.

I love my scale, and I recommend, and would buy again, just wish they would fix theses two annoying issues.

    Do Not Buy

    • Written by from La Crosse

Wow! I have two of these Scales and what pieces of junk they are. Both are less than 2 months old and quit working. They will no longer connect to my network or via bluetooth to my iPhone, iPads.

To make it worse I cannot even contact the company because they seem not to exist after they collect your money. Huge disappointment!! If anyone has a phone number for them or an address I would appreciate knowing what they are. Even Apple does not know how to contact them.

    Stay away

BROKE DOWN AFTER ONLY 6 MONTH OF USE...

    • Written by from Cairo

Nice scale on the website, disaster in real life. Does not synchronise properly with an already backward application on the iphone. 6 months after purchase the scale simply stopped working. If the scale is not placed on a perfectly even surface it will display different readings for two consecutive measures. Bluetooth takes forever to sync with iOS 5. Do not recommend this purchase.

    Useless Device

    • Written by from Worcester

This scale will weigh you, but the connection to the app is broken each time you walk out of the room and requires a repairing as if it were new each time. Essentially this means every day you must turn the scale over, hold down the pairing button, go to the app and re establish the connection. It would be far easier to just manually log in the data to an app. Expensive manual scale is really all it is. The "weather " shows rain on the scale screen if it is raining or snowing. Looking out the window takes less time. The heart rate takes forever and fails 50% of the time. It is really a terrible product and I am surprised that Apple would sell it in their stores.
