    Never auto connects.

    • Written by from Pittsburgh

Experience has been same as reviewers above. The scale never auto-connects via bluetooth. Each time if I want to sync a measurement with my iPhone, the scale must be turned over and the re-connect procedures started. Makes it useless as a "wireless" scale. I returned this device.

    Pairing issues

    • Written by from Dollard-des-Ormeaux

I've owned this scale for a little over a year. I've had consistent issues with pairing the device to Bluetooth but always eventually figured it out after numerous attempts. However, with my latest issue I was unable to find a blue tooth connection with any of my 4 apple devices. tech support is a joke, no phone, only emails, they proposed a factory reset which didn't solve the issue. Buyer beware!

    Withings Smart Scale

    • Written by from Long Beach

Decided to take the scale back based on one simple criteria: the scale requires an account with Withings, the scale's parent company. I expected the scale to pair with my device and communicate directly with Apple's iOS8 Health Kit app right out of the box. Instead, I'm required to download a 3rd party app. Installing the app solely to configure scale would be perfectly acceptable but this company [Withings] thinks it's acceptable to force their customers to sign up with their services just to use their device. Bottom line; I'll just get a stand alone scale and enter the data manually. I don't need a company like Withings potentially harvesting my data, a disgusting business practice. Quite frankly, I'm surprised Apple endorses this product.

Worst purchase of all time! ------------ STAY AWAY FROM WITHINGS!!

    • Written by from Hong Kong

From time to time, the withings scales will stop upload data for no reason.

The withings scales keep losing its setting, you'll be forced to re-do the setup regularly.

The weight measurement contain a 4~5 lbs error, depend on how far apart your feet were on the scale.

The heart rate measurement simply not accurate.

The withings app is worst app I ever used.

If you're looking for a smart scales, STAY AWAY FROM WITHINGS!!!

Avoid This Product At All Costs

    • Written by from Isle of Palms

This is a bad product, and Apple should stop carrying it. I have purchased three, the most recent being a purchase I made when I saw that Apple stores were stocking the scale, which I took to be a sign that the prior problems have been solved. Be aware. They haven't. The app is very buggy, the scale keeps falling off Bluetooth, and all in all, the scale is a very poor product. Someone should be able to make a good scale that integrates with the iPhone. Plainly Withings can't or wont.

    totally worthless

    • Written by from San Francisco

No matter what I do and after researching for hours, I can't get the bluetooth connection to stick. I have to re-set it every time I weigh myself, completely defeating the purpose of purchasing the scale. Waste of $$ in every way.

I was hesitant in buying this scale because of the price but I ended up loving it. I hate to step on scales but I needed to track my weighloss after WLS. I'm not sure how accurate it is but it guides my progress very well. I do have problems with it registering my heart rate so that's the reason I could not give it 5 stars. I never figured out the reason for the air quality monitor but hey the more features the better. It was easy to set up and sync to my phone and it also syncs to My fitness pal which I love.

    In love w this scale

    • Written by from boston

My boyfriend and I both have been using withings' "Pulse" and now we have this scale and couldn't be happier with either one.
I downloaded the app to my phone and never used bluetooth for anything before so I thought it might be difficult to get it all going but it really wasn't.. The instructions walk you through it, and now that it's all set up I enjoy keeping up with how active I'm being during the day and then monitor my weight, heart rate and BMI at home. I'm not sure what the concept is behind the measure of CO2 in my house (?) but I am glad to see it is in the acceptable range.
This review is for the scale though, so I will also say that my boyfriend and I both use it and the cool thing is that if it can't tell who is using it by your weight range (everyone prob goes up and down anywhere between 2-3lb a day) since we both have the app and it knows who we are and our ranges, but if they get close it will display both of our names on the scale itself.. you can then put more weight on the side that displays your name (using your left or right foot) and it will select the right person to update to the app.
Our old scale seems so lame now, it was just a regular scale and was lucky to get used once a week even keeping it in the kitchen - now we both prob use this every morning and every night. I've found that keeping tabs has led me to be more mindful of my daily activity/actions towards health/weight and I have lost 10lbs with withings over the past two months.
We're very happy with this scale.

    Expensive Rubbish

    • Written by from campbell

The main reason to purchase this scale is to use the interactive feature with the scale . But this feature works the first time you set it up then the scale no longer connects to your devices the moment you leave the area . Ive tested on two Iphone 6's and Iphone 5 , two samunsg tablets , and android phone and a Lenovo tablet and the result is the same I consider my self to be pretty tech savvy , Ive built my own data center, off grid data center, software controlled house but Ive never seen a product so frustrating . After spending hours tinkering with this device im ready to toss it on the garbage heap its only useful as readout scale if the phone/Tablet connectivity does now work .
The Bluetooth connectivity works and locates the scale and this then starts the Withing application ; However the application itself is unable to find the scale and the app/scale connectivity is rendered useable.
The other alternative is to use WIFI. The setup process works and does say the scale is connected to the, but when you use the scale the results appear on the scale hours later - if at all. Most times no results are sent to the application which basically renders this scale and an expensive weigh scale. I could have picked one up for twenty bucks and been happier.
My recommendation is stay away from this device until Withing's decide to address the Bluetooth /WiFi connectivity issues

    Complete waste of money.

    • Written by from Essen

The setup took me almost two days to succeed, the bluetooth connection gets lost some time and the scale puts itself into setup mode all the time. Ah, and not to forget: The sync between the app and the scale constantly fails (tried it with 3 different iOS devices and 1 Android device, by the way).
Withings shows how to make a miserable product from a great idea.
Not worth the money (or even ANY money). :(

Accuracy is not one of it virtues...

    • Written by from Humacao

The device is definitely not accurate. It's fancy connection thru the wi-fi and the charting in the iPhone / iPad makes it a great concept, but Withings has a long way to go in terms of accuracy of the device. Usually, I have to step on it several times to get an idea of how much I weight. From the first to the fourth it could give me a difference of 4 pounds in and increasing mode.

    The Best Option

    • Written by from Bellevue

I tried a wifi scale from another company, and was wildly disappointed with it. That model took me more than 2 hours to set up and then dropped all settings the next morning. So, after reading a few more reviews, I bought the Withings model from my local Apple store.

The Withings scale was really easy to set up -- I think I set mine up in under five minutes. The iPad app is pretty nice, but more importantly for me is that the data syncs with the rubiTrack app, which I've used for three years. Having all of my fitness information in one program was an important aspect of my choice and Withings didn't let me down there.

Well worth the money; highly recommend.

    Poor performing product

    • Written by from Los Angeles

This scale is supposed to seaminglessly integrate into iOS, however it performs very poorly with respect to wireless integration. The Bluetooth connection constantly dies and needs to be frequently restarted in order to communicate with my iPhone and transmit data. We have come to expect superior performance from products sold in Apple stores, and this scale falls far, far short. After struggling with the scale for two weeks, we decided to return it.

    Good concept - horrible product

    • Written by from Seattle

All I wanted was to have a scale that would send my weight to an app, so that I could track my weight over time. This product is not providing this basic function. The scale will not sync with the app and the bluetooth connectivity won't seem to stick. I am quite surprised that Apple would let such an unreliable product grace its shelves.

Great iPhone app and connectivity for inaccurate measures

    • Written by from Bentonville

Great iPhone application, excellent connectivity through bluetooth and WIFI.

But the scale is accurate to 0.2 lbs on weight measurement. This means that weighting yourself twice in a row would most likely not lead to the same result.

The fat measurement is on the other hand completely unusable in my opinion. And this is not just this scale. Most scale are using a technology that is susceptible to several parameters like your level of hydration. In my case, it means that I ended up with a difference of close to a 2 lbs of fat gained for a decrease of a 1 lbs of mass within 24 hours! Simply impossible considering the activity.

The heartbeat monitoring is working 2 times out of 3 and I can't say if the rain prediction is working. I lives in Seattle, it's always raining anyway!

    Fantastic Scales

    • Written by from GLENAGEARY

The weighing scales has been a huge benefit to me losing 2 stone, each week it gives you a target which makes you watch your diet in order to meet the targets set. The only slight negative I would have is that it goes through batteries pretty quick but other than that I would strongly recommend, also the iphone app is great.

    Helped me lose weight

    • Written by from Toronto

This product is great, the app tracked my weight over 2 months and the line graph showed i gained weight over each weekend, I adjusted my eating on Saturdays and Sundays and lost 10 pounds over the last 3 months. The data told me a story that I didn't realize with my traditional scale and it did all the work for me. Great tool to show progress and use data to educate me on my daily patterns.

    totally unreliable product

    • Written by from Epsom

The Withings scale is an expensive weighing scale no doubt and for the money you would expect it to work properly. I have owned it for 2 years and in all that time, despite multiple firmware upgrades, it never properly worked. More often than not it won't sync it's data, which completely negates it reason d'etre of being a connected scales where the data is stored and available for the future. The worst thing is that it doesn't actually indicate in any way that it hasn't synced, so unless you go to your computer and log in to the Withings website after each weigh-in, you'll be none the wiser. It's Wednesday now and despite weighing myself every day, I have discovered today that the last day the scale properly synced it's data was Sunday. This is a very regular occurrence. It will miss days now and again (maybe 2 in 3) and then just stop syncing altogether until I go through the rigmarole of taking out a battery and then going through the whole setup procedure again.

The heart rate functionality is utter junk. It doesn't work at all and seems to be there as a feature tick to tempt buyers. I have a heart rate monitor and can say definitively that the numbers presented on the scale might as well be random numbers (and probably are).

All in all, I would say that if you want a connected scale, that works reliably then stay away from this one. Don't let the additional junky features such a CO2 monitoring or heart rate monitoring sway you.

Well because of medical reasons I need something like this as I am under weight and the hospital need accurate daily recordings of weight and diet. I am now on my 5th one yes thats right my 5th one. I have just email my Apple rep and basically told him enough is enough. Yes the Bluetooth and Wireless connectivity has failed yet again rendering the scales totally useless. I have expressed my feelings to Apple and don't understand with all these negative comments why they don't take these and other Withings products off the shelves as they are no where near worth the money because the build quality of the electronics are totally useless. A note to all unhappy customers which I have found out is go and blast on Withings Facebook page they don't like it one bit trust me I think they even tried to block me cause I keep blasting there build quality and useless products. I am doing well 5 scales and 4 Pulses so far within 12 months.

Its only got 1 star because you can't post 0 stars so take this review as 0 star review
