Not as good as the previous cases for the 4s

    • Written by from Irvine

Got this unit and within 7 days, the bottom piece outer case split from the inner case and bits flew out. the on/off switch was too loose to begin with and it switched on inadvertently. I contacted Mophie, which quickly replaced my unit. Overall, not a bad unit. It is a nice sturdy case with the power to extend the battery almost by 2 times.

    So far so good!

    • Written by from Ottawa

Great sturdy case that gives a comfortable weight and feel to the iPhone 5. The extra battery life and ability to charge my phone on the go is a huge plus. I will say that I only got one charge from the case but it was a full charge and you can't go wrong with that when you have kids that like to play games or view videos!
Would be nicer with a slight lip around the screen to protect from any flat falls or bumps. The extension for the headset was a great thought. The only down side is the phone connector can't be reached through the case so a little challenge for our car charger to connect to the phone.

    Great job!

Good charging case - one small issue

    • Written by from Lawrenceburg

I'm really liking the case and its easy to use. When I get low on battery, I just flip the switch and I'm charging again. The LED indicator lights with remaining battery power are a nice touch too. Like some others here, I had the problem with the loose fitting and I had to jiggle the bottom for it to start charging. Instead of sending it back, I took the phone out and put a very thin piece of rubber inside of the case, where the back of the phone would rest. This keeps the phone nice and snug and I don't have the charging issues anymore. Even with the phone in my pocket. I'm not sure how this problem got by Mophie's QA guys. Still its a nice case though, but I shouldn't have to go the extra mile to fix Mophie's problems. Would easily be 5 stars with the loose fit issue.

Run, don't walk to get this product

    • Written by from Rancho Santa Fe

Bought this item on a whim to go with my new iPhone, and it has knocked my socks off from Day 1. Does everything it promises - extends battery life by 80% (even more than that when I ran my own test), charges simultaneously with the phone (quick and easy), and gives you the option to decide whether you want to use phone power first or supplemental battery first. All in all, one of the best after-market products I have ever found. It's handsome, handy and helpful. I think I will buy a handful for Christmas presents this year!

    Great Product !!!

    • Written by from MIAMI BEACH

I love the Mophie the only default to this product is that the iPhone does not fit in comfortably in my pocket.

Other than that, it is great for traveling and recharging when need to.

    Buy it !

    Paint peeling

    • Written by from simpsonville

Peeling in left hand corner needs to be a harder plastic like the iPhone 4 case. Wait for 99.99 dollar one I think it will be better.

    Solid Case

    • Written by from ANCHORAGE

Mophie products are excellent quality. This case has a nice feel with some extra grip. The battery on the Mophie runs out first, then the phone battery is used last. This battery allows me to use the GPS apps all day without running out of power. You don't need to use the headphone adapter if your headphones have straight plugs, like the Apple Earbuds. The extender is only needed for the Bose style headphones that have angled plugs. Bottom line, this is a good quality case that works well.

    Terrible Quality and unreliable

    • Written by from Hilliard

I highly recommend that you stay away from this product. Within one week, the paint from the case was already peeling off. It is also unreliable. The case indicated that that it is fully charged and when I go to switch the charger on it won't charge. It is great when it works but stay away from this product because it isn't worth paying $80 when it only works 20% of the time.

    Annoying

    • Written by from Toronto

The concept of this thing is cool. The size and weight aren't a prob. But the connector that connects to the USB at the bottom of the phone seems to have a mind of its own. Every single time I turn on the iPhone5 I have to jiggle the bottom piece until it "connects". For something made for an iPhone 5 it does not seem to be a good fit. Really regretting this purchase.

The case is great. It adds a bit of bulk to the phone, but that's expected with an extended battery. The main thing I was worried about was the need for an headphone adapter... I don't know why so many people are complaining; for all the jacks I've tried with a straight input jack, they fit in easily without the adapter. You just need to push it in a little further.

Also, I LOVE the fact that you can charge the case with a micro USB cable. The ability to sync without wifi might not be there, but the PRICE of those cables are dirt cheap!!
If you really need to sync, just take off the case for a little bit.

Headphone jack hard to get to

    • Written by from Lebanon

Battery power numbers are accurate, case is a bit long but a nice smooth design. Headphone jack is hard to get to directly; included is a 2" long audio extender cable, a bit annoying having to carry this cable with the phone (it all stems from Apple changing the headphone jack to the bottom, but a pass-through jack that ends flush to the outer layer of the case would've been much cleaner.

Mophie products are best with Apple iPhones

    • Written by from Friendswood

Ok, I'll start this off with a little history. Around June of 2012 I was anxiously waiting for the Galaxy S3. I was able to obtain one and I loved it. After the honeymoon phase, I begin to notice flaws that I could live daily with. First off as a phone, there was a delay when you pressed the phone icon to the time the actual numeric dial pad showed up. Then I noticed I was barely making it to 8-9pm without having the phone shut off. I'm on T-mobile so I am not using LTE. I got the Mophie juice pack for the GS3, that helped but bulked up my phone a lot. The quality is not the same as the soft touch material used on the Mophie iPhone products.

Eventually I got an iPhone 5, since time away from the wall was important and that it is not practical to carry around multiple batteries that everyone has a craze about. Got the Mophie for it, much better quality and overall package was not abnormally bulky. The iPhone in general has a longer batter life, I can get to the same time point I do with my GS3 everyday and still have 40% charge. I haven't turned on the Mophie yet, but once I start doing double shifts in the hospital, this case will be my best friend. Also connects with bluetooth audio streaming to my car with meta tags, can control music with steering wheel controls.

Does not support syncing via USB cable

    • Written by from Santa Fe

When you connect your phone/Juice Pack to your computer, the only function supported is charging. Syncing with iTunes must be done wirelessly, which can be a real problem for Windows users.

    Liked the previous version better

    • Written by from Memphis

I just purchased the new Helium because I loved my juice pack for the 4S. I expected it to be identical with maybe a couple of improvements, but to be honest I feel like you get less.

The case is well made and my phone fit inside the case really well. It has a nice crisp closing which makes the phone feel very secure. The form is nice and the grip on the back is soft and easy to hold onto.

The real problems with the case are the things I knew about it going into it but thought I could overlook. The phone will not sync using the supplied USB cable. It requires wireless syncing which takes much longer. The weird thing is that the case for the 4S did sync with the supplied cable. The other thing is that I thought carrying around the adapter for headphones wouldn't be a big deal, but to be honest it got annoying quick. I always was looking in my bag for it eventually left them connected to the headphones. The cord is thick though and couldn't be easily bent (plus for it being beefy, but not good for stowing away).

I have been really waiting for this case to come out and was pretty disappointed in the design changes made to it.

    No plugs needed.

    • Written by from Washington

Positive things about the case. I travel a ton and always found myself looking for an outlet to keep my battery charged while in travel. The case allows me the confidence that I can travel without worrying about the battery going dead on me. The size of the case took a couple of days to get use to and the length seemed a bit long at first, but after a 48 hour trip I am in love with it. No plugs needed. The case fully protects your phone and feels great in the hand. My only complain about the case is the color. It would have been nice to have the option of the case being black vs. a gunmetal color.

Love the case- hate the connector

    • Written by from Roseville

Had the case for the 4, and absolutely can not live without it. The ONLY issue that I have is that my car radio adaptor/charger that is hard wired to my radio has the wrong connector (of course) for Mophie. After living with this for 2 years I was sure for the new model they would address this, and it sure looked like they had in the pictures... but nope.

As a result I'm really torn. I would have figured that the reason that the case took a bit longer to come out was that they were working this out, but honestly I'm just not sure that I feel like removing and replacing the battery every single time I get in the car... and for a phone I'm just not sure that I feel like dropping another 200.00 at least to have my car cracked open again to do another installation, assuming of course that a wire or connector exists that will both charge and stream Pandora and music, navigation, and all other aspects to my system.

I know, it's a battery, take it easy.... but if Mophie is selling convenience they really should have taken this into consideration.

    Just sayin'

    Helium light!!!

    • Written by from Hollis

Mophie charger case came right out of the box fully charged. Extremely light. Lighter than the 4s version. A little long but it wasnt an issue. Got used to it right away. Overall, it keeps battery level high, keeps my iphone charged and juiced up, protects it with a smooth touch case, and its a great way to stay in shape!!!

    I like it

    • Written by from Florissant

I like it a lot - the feel, size, and music sound is improved because of the case, the charging capability is working well as backup power. My only hesitation is I'm having a hard time figuring out how to plug the female mini USB on the Morphie into my car stereo cable (after market) with the old male Apple 30 pin and male lightning adaptor I have for my old iPod. After chatting with Apple a few times & searching Amazon - looks like I'll need to go to the car stereo guys and have a different cable installed. More $$ down the tube. I would have wished for lightening on iPhone 5 to lightning on Morphie Juice Pack Helium.
