Good At Charging - Not Durable

    • Written by from Auburn Hills

The case it self is great for charging your phone. However, it gets scratched up very easily and the first layer of paint peels away to expose a lighter silver color below.

In terms of a size difference... its noticeable. If you don't think so take the case off for a day and you will realize how much thicker and longer the case makes the phone.

Also, the speakers are nice as they direct the sound towards you instead of straight out from the normal iphone speakers.

below average - only get it in a jam

    • Written by from Somers Point

The case is bulky, but I knew that. The problem is the Helium doesn't cover your buttons so they are exposed and difficult to access.

The case is also difficult to get on and off and scratched my iphone... I prefer to use a regular (mesh 210 case and then bring out the Mophie when I need it, so taking it on and off is a problem.

Bottom line - I returned it - I will try the Air

    Ignore the negative reviews

    • Written by from Iowa City

I just got this product yesterday and it is amazing! You can charge the case and the iphone by using the micro USB cable it has provided. Once both are charged you can go an entire day (and most of the night) without having to wall charge your phone. When the battery gets to 20% just flip the morphie off of standby and you will have a full charge again in about an hour.
It also has some really good speakers that they have made front facing so you get the most out of the sound when you are playing your music or watching a video.
As for actually syncing your iphone 5 all you need to do is slide the bottom portion of the case off so it will expose the actual bottom of the iphone and just sync it like you normally would.
And if you want to remove the iphone from the case (Idk why you would) all you have to do is slide that bottom portion out and then taking the iphone out of the rest of the case is easy.
I hope this helps anyone with their decision regarding this great product!

    Third Mophie in 3 months

    • Written by from HUNTINGTON

I would not buy this product again. Very frustrating to become dependent on the Mophie to extend your business day, just to find out it breaks all of the time. I love the concept, but something is dramatically wrong with the design. They have great customer support, but to constantly have to send my case back, and wait a week or two for a new one is garbage.

    A joke

    • Written by from Santa Ana

*Pick it up from XXXX XXX as a battery case option, but:
*Can't transfer photos to Dropbox without a direct lightning cable connection
*Can't connect to iTunes Wireless (a lot of discussions about it on the Apple Community forums)
*No bloody diagrams of what button does what?. Are you kidding me? (yes, I have sight issues. diabetes)
*Video play back +seven hours?. Real use sez no (unless you have the SD version instead of the HD one. Gee, kind of nice they "missed" that little footnote). Wifi?: let me download those movies... almost

*Good things: Very slim case, and the "standby"/talk time does really come close to their claims (except Video play back), but every other option case wise are worse than this case, so...

First battery case, last one too

Problems with the bottom chasis coming apart as the glue does not hold

    • Written by from Causeway Bay

I've had two of these iphone5 mophie cases in the last 6 months and they were both defective! The problem is that the glue they use to hold the bottom part of the case will eventually wear out causing the outer shell to come apart which will disconnect all the internal components! I contacted mophie and they sent me a replacement right away. But after 2 months, the same exact problem which leads me to think it's more than a one off problem. They should recall this product!

    Good, but not good enough

    • Written by from Toronto

    1. Cant sync to iTunes/computer
    2. Doesn't use Iphone charger (uses micro usb)
    3. Doesn't charge with all 3rd party micro usbs
    4. Requires a headphone adapter
    5. A bit bulky, but not terrible

Could be alot better, seemed like they rushed this and got lazy. It will still charge your phone tho.

    IF ONLY....

    • Written by from APPLE VALLEY

I was about to buy one until I saw that I would need yet another cable just to get it to work at all. I'm not a fan of companies designing their products in such a way that their costumers are FORCED into buying more things just to get the one thing they want to work at all.
If you fix this problem I just might change my mind.

Terrific Small Profile Battery Case For Your Iphone 5!

    • Written by from new york

I have been a long time Mophie fan and have been using their product since they started selling Juice paks. Always have one handy and this time they have come up with a slimmer, lower profile unit for the 5 that doesn't add much thickness to the original design and still acts a great case should you drop your phone.

The fit is perfect! Yes, you have to use a headphone extension for headphones, no big deal just keep the cord on your headphones.

This slim battery case provides just enough additional power for your phone to get you through a long day. The helium is much thinner and lighter than the other Mophie products like Juice Pak, BUT it provides more than enough power should you need the extra power during the course of the day.

The iphone slides easily in and out of the unit and should you want to go without one day that is easily done, unlike some of the more complicated cases on the market that take a bit of effort to get off the phone.

It's a terrific unit and the service provided by Mophie is always easy should you have any problems.

    Don't bother

    • Written by from RUMSON

Battery works but if you're in an area that has weak coverage, this thing will reduce your phone into a brick, no cell coverage around my neighborhood now (I live in New Jersey). On top of that, the case fits so tightly that I have not been able to remove it so I can return it.

    Junk.

Awful product and poor design .HEAVY

    • Written by from Fair Lawn

This item is garbage in my eyes. The charge is not even a full charge, the color units fade off and the case becomes so bulky and heavy. I had three different cases from Mophie and they all broke or went back. Phonesuite is no better. I now use a my power pack 2200mh that gives me a full charge and its small enough to fit in a pocket.

Doesn't fit if you have any protective skin

    • Written by from Rockport

I use Ghost Armor on my iPhone, which is the only reason I could think of for not being able to figure out how to get it in the Morphie case without scratching or otherwise messing up the iPhone. You can't slide it into the case, so it looks like you have to push it in, which I'm not prepared to do since it is metal. There are no instructions on how to do this, so I'm assuming it must be that easy. This might explain why there are so many complaints about chipped paint and the like. In any case, I took it back to the Apple Store.

BAD Design Cant use Lightning connector to charge

    • Written by from Wall

Apples new Lightning connector is great, easy to connect, no polarity, can do it in the dark first time etc.

So what does Mophie do, use a inferior USB connector that is a pain to use and easy to fail.

Will NOT get another one until the genius that designed this figures things out

First one just stopped working after a week, second one they gave in store was buzzing constantly so I walked out and walked back in and the manager promptly exchanged it. Now one week since then I went to charge it this morning (charged fine the night before last) and it just stopped working again.

Never know until ya need one.

    • Written by from ANCHORAGE

When I heard about juice packs I always thought of them as just more junk to add to your Phone, but then noticing that my Battery was running Low & not having a charger to charge it, I decided to get this, & it was WELL worth the Price, and although the Price seems much it's actually well within the range, of course i paid $40 for mine but it's still a well worth investment in the phone & you never know when you'll need it when the iPhone 6 comes out.

    Iphone 5 Mophie

    • Written by from Atlanta

The concept of the Iphone 5 Mophie is great! I loved the size, the weight and about the first day of the mophie. The mophie did not fit the phone very well. When you connect the Mophie case to charge, I had to take the bottom off still plugged in and then put the bottom of the case back on for the phone and the mophie case to charge. It was very inconvenient. After about two weeks the mophie case stopped charging all together and would not even charge the phone.

Too bad... I was really excited about the Mophie case because it is NEEDED in my busy life.

    STUCK TO MY PHONE

Allows Dirt Inside Case which will cause many scratches.

    • Written by from Jacksonville

Bought the Mophie Helium the day it was released. I loved my Mophie Juice Pack Plus for the 4s and so figured the Helium would be the same. Nope. It communicates through several more windows around the phone allowing dirt particles in-between the case and the phone. After it being inside the case for a month I took the phone out to find small circles of worn out finish all around the bezel. This never happened with the 4s Juice Pack.

I hope Mophie comes out with a sealed version as this one just allows too much dirt inside.

    Flimsy, Overpriced Garbage

    • Written by from Tucson

For this much money, not to mention the long wait for it to hit the market, this case is a singular disappointment. It does not fit the phone as snugly as it should, it scuffs easily and most important, it is very flimsy! I just broke it by pulling the bottom half from the top to check for a connection problem. Definitely not worth the money. One more thing: you need a separate dongle (Mophie provides) to use the headphone jack because the case is too deep. Apple, are there any plans to use quality controls on manufacturers of products made for your devices? If so, start here!
