Does not work with Apple 5s Case

    • Written by from ridgewood

The Lightning plug will not pass through the cutout at the bottom of the Apple 5s leather case. This is disappointing, as the hole is definitely larger than the Apple Lightning plug.

The cable is thicker than even the 2m Apple Lightning cable, so it is pretty rigid. I personally don't like that characteristic, but I guess it makes it a more durable cable. The plug ends look fine.

Don't buy for iPad 128 gig

    • Written by from Durham

This sync cable does not allow the iPad to maintain it's charge. When I was playing on my iPad with this cable plugged in, my iPad's battery power was continuing to drain. To verify that it was a cable problem and not an iPad problem, I switched to a different cable to power the iPad. There was no battery power loss while using the other cable.

Large end prevents Belkin cable and case compatibility

    • Written by from Stratford

This does not even work with Belkin's own Grip Candy cases!
The end is too big. Check that your case works before buying it.

Junk cable in quality looking coating

    • Written by from Memphis

I own over 20 apple products, and (although I have never counted), I also own quite a few Belkin products as well. I am on my third Belkin iPad cable which I like to keep at my home office, so I don't have to pack and repack chargers, as I travel frequently. Even if you were to excuse the nuisance messages, like "This cable is not certified for the iPad etc", (which is annoying) it actually does NOT work for charging at all. It may possibly charge the iPad with the device off (irregularly), but once it is on, it will absolutely not maintain a charge enough to use the device. I have tried with numerous chargers, including the official iPad charger, the Belkin one, generic ones, generic ones with amp boost, but the result is the same. This cable DOES NOT WORK. (Cable #4 for me!)

Lately, I have noticed a huge deterioration in the quality of Belkin products. Go ahead and cut into your "high quality cable" that you paid 40 bucks for. You will find that it is a MAJORITY INSULATION and a MINORITY ACTUAL COPPER CABLE. If you have the luxury of comparing it to the apple one, go ahead and do so. Basically, with Belkin you are paying for extra rubber, and lots of it. Unfortunately, devices don't charge via rubber, and the "high quality feel" of Belkin is nothing but the feel of lots of rubber, which is insulting an amount of copper so small, that it is not capable of actually charging your device. It is sad that a formerly reputable accessory company has cut costs so far that their products don't actually work. Belkin is not a high quality accessory maker, they are just another junky Chinese manufacturer. I have had better luck buying accessories on the streets of Shanghai, then through the Apple store which sells their "approved" products.

My wife just bought a new apple ipad cable for me today and it works perfectly, although way overpriced. Anyway, I will return my Belkin cable tomorrow (for the 4th time, this time for cash refund). How can you sell a charger/ cable that doesn't even work?

    Didn't Work

    • Written by from Toronto

When I got home from buying the cable I immediately plugged in my iPhone 5S. The cable would only work if it was bent a certain way. Going to return it.
