    Stop working after 2 months

    • Written by from Gatineau

Right out of the box the cable I received didn't function properly. My iPhone 4S would disconnect and reconnect sporadically, despite the cable being properly secured into place. After a few hours and several attempts it finally began working properly and for the most part worked fine, only disconnecting on rare occasions. I didn't return it because I figured it worked well enough. Last week it simply ceased functioning altogether after a mere 2 months of use. I don't know if I just got a lemon, but I would definitely not recommend this cable to anyone. Another thing I disliked was the fact that the 30-Pin connector doesn't snap into place like the standard Apple cable does. The only redeeming qualities I found were the durability of the plastic, which was much better than that of the standard Apple cable, as well as the generous length which often came in handy. Bottom line from my experience: not worth the expense.

    When it works...

it is just what I needed.

However, it rarely works after 3 months. The connector is cheap and/or the quality control at Belkin is poor. A loose connector is frustrating:

Not Charging despite the charge symbol being on at the same time.
The battery draining while it's plugged in.
It now falls out without being moved.
    And there's no warranty.

    Not great at all

Te extra length in cord was a good idea, however it does not stay connected to the IPAD very well. It easily disconnects with any motion, and it takes a really long time to charge. Not worth the price

    Stopped working

Started off ok, but now after some months of use, it won't stay in the iPad, and has major problems in iTunes trying to back up or transfer. It gets to about 30% backup and just stops, charging is ok but i have to be very gentle as if the 30 pin moves it stops charging and a great deal of fiddling is required to coax it back to charge.
i tried backing up by holding the 30 pin in tight but to no avail either, i have to use the original short cable....
