    Best for the money

    • Written by from Port Huron

I've owned these earbuds for well over a year now and I can tell you that they are the best of any I have tried! I work in an automotive assembly plant and it is a relatively harsh environment. I typically work 8hr shifts sometimes 12hrs. I have yet to have the battery die on me or have any problems with the controls. I don't usually have music on the entire time so I can't confirm battery life of constant audio playback. The earbuds are fairly large in comparison to standard wired earbuds that will feel odd at first. The beauty of the wireless more than outweighs the extra size. The bluetooth connection is solid and has a HUGE range. I can walk almost 50' sometimes more before they disconnect. The sound quality is AMAZING for wireless earbuds! There is considerable bass (more than any other inear bud I have tried.) As with any inear earbud though the amount of bass depends on how well they seal in your ear. These earbuds are very comfortable but do have what I would call a "break-in" period while your ears get used to the shape and feel. When I first got them, my ears would be physically slightly sore after 6-8hrs. Now though, I can do 12hrs no problem!

    Now for the cons
The cable that runs from one earbud to the other is a flat ribbon cable. I would prefer a simple round cable.
They are expensive!! Sound quality more than makes up for it though and they are rugged enough for everyday use.
Perhaps my BIGGEST issue with these earbuds are the soft silicon tips. There are no ridges where they slide onto the earbud to grip them. So when you pull the earbuds out, the silicon tip often (almost ALWAYS) stay in my ear!!! If you have a good seal, sometimes it is difficult to remove the tip. This is the sole reason why I wrote this review and the sole reason why they only got a 4 star rating! If they fixed this one MAJOR annoyance, they would have a customer for life!

    Great Headphones

    • Written by from CEDAR PARK

I had originally gone into the Apple Retail Store to purchase another set of Bose in ear headphones. Then I saw some wireless headphone. The employee said that they were great so I thought I would give them a try, I am glad that I did because they are great. They pair with my iPhone very easily and they are comfortable. Mose head phone fall out of my ear especially the EarPods. These headphone like the Bose head phone have the ear piece that keeps the headphone in your ear securely. If you haven't tried wireless headphone and you are very active and like the not accidentally grab your cord in the middle of a run then try these out.

What is dead may never die ...

    • Written by from Winnipeg

... but rises again, harder and stronger. 300 words isn't a lot of space, so, here's a great story in point form:
    1) I'm a careless dolt
    2) I put these headphones in the washing machine for 35 minutes
    3) They came out stone dead, although at first the red and green lights flashed alternately as if to say "help me" but it was too late
    4) I wept, for I had owned them for only six weeks, and they are expensive
    5) I tried to gingerly dry them out and it didn't work
    6) How many words am I at? I'm not counting this up by hand, man. Could we get a little JavaScript counter for the submission form?
    7) Sorry. Anyway, it's a day later, and I plugged them in to charge them, and the red light came on.
    8) Now they're working perfectly. Oh my god. I felt so gutted, and now it's like my execution has been stopped at the last possible second.

Sorry for the Game of Thrones reference, because I understand that not literally everyone watches or likes that show, but these are the headphones the Ironborn would wear into battle. Also, they sound really good. That's important, too.

Gripes: it's really designed for music, not podcasts. That's a fair assumption for a high-quality audio device, but it's irritating to have to dig out the iPad to go back 15 seconds. The controls on the headphones can only do whole-track skipping. And although they sound really good, they're not quite as good as the Sennheisers they're replacing, but that set was wired. That's it; that's all I got for gripes. Everything else is really great.

    Super Sound, Good Fit

    • Written by from CALGARY

I bought these in May 2013 and have worn them on various activities and weather types: running, cycling, cross-training, snowboarding, hiking, casual listening, library, sporting events. I have used them in +35C and -25C weather, snow, rain, and more. I've even put them through a laundry cycle when I forgot to check my pockets (oops). They are still in great working shape!

PROS = Sound quality, bass reproduction, noise cancelling are excellent. These are some of the best headsets i've ever had! Bluetooth setup is easy and that they remember eight (8) devices is great. Selection of cushions and tips means most everyone should find a comfy fit with good sound. Small size is incredible given the battery life and sound quality.

CONS = Switching from under to over the ear modes takes a bit of fiddling and switching. My Shure (wired) headset is designed to flip from over to under without much fuss, but they are not bluetooth.
Another minor thing is there is no command to "Fast Forward/Rewind" (skip ahead or backward) within a song using the remote. You can skip forward and back between tracks but not search within. Not a game-breaker but would be nice to have sometimes.

    Overall, a great wireless headset!

Great, they fit on nice, the range for the bluetooth is kind of low, but besides that, good for running :)

    Exceeded High Expectations

    • Written by from Duxbury

I agree, I saw the price and walked away - they decided due to the 2 week return policy to give them a try. They won't be going back as I love them. This is my first set of BlueTooth buds and the sound is as good as my other buds (Bose IE2 and beloved Klipsch S4i's.) The ability to walk around with lightweight buds and no wires is liberating. Rage is good. Battery life is excellent at 7-8 hours. Recharge time is around 5 hours. Occasionally my iPad stops sending for a second or two, but it is a minor inconvenience compared to the huge benefits with these buds. I have small ears and worried about fit, but the largest tips fit tight for me for some reason. I also bought some after market tips on amazon which are even better.

Give them a try from apple and see if you like them. My guess is you will love them.

Charger Jack Breaks and Not Totally Sweat Resistant

    • Written by from Toyota

At the start I loved these earphones, but after a while they stopped recharging. The charger jack inside the earphones breaks easily. I had to return the earphones and got a new pair on the mail. When I started using the new pair, I went for a run and sweat got inside the remote control. Somehow, without me realising the earphones activated Siri and made 9 phone calls to a friend of mine. I had to do a bit of explaining. So, yeah. I would never recommend anyone to get a pair of these. I would return mine if I could.

    Great Headphones

    • Written by from Los Angeles

The price made me hesitate but decided to go with it since they were returnable. The small buds and ear pieces fit my ears very well, more importantly securely. I put my iPhone into gym bag & leave it on the ground while working out on different machines without any loss of connectivity. Very important. Like the idea of having the headphones in either under-ear or over ear configurations. Only used under ear though so far. Phone calls have been excellent without having to move the mic to my mouth. Have noticed that on occasion, there'll be breaks in feed but have not decided who is at fault there. They're momentary & not too distracting so far. Battery life is excellent. Recharging easy. Cord appears rugged. Time will tell there. Audio quality is great. I'm no audiophile. Longevity is a problem with me. I'm rough on them. But I figure that it will save my iPhone from me flinging it on the ground when I entangle the cords. Highly recommend these headphones if you can afford them

1st impression WOW, 2nd impression EPIC FAIL

    • Written by from White Plains

I thought these earbuds would be perfect for the gym. I experimenting with various size configurations to find the perfect fit. The largest tip stays in but is not comfortable and all 3 sized cushions caused even more pain. I preferred them without the cushions but being a heavy sweater they wouldn't stay in my ear without them. This is a major deal breaker for me. The final straw was that they would time out. It didn't matter if I was listening to music on my iphone or streaming from Pandora with 5 bars or over wifi. every other song for some reason or another would drop for just a second for no reason. If you don't mind the sound going out and you don't have sensitive ears these are perfect for you. If comfort and consistency are as important as sound quality look elsewhere.

First pair of BT buds; impressed

    • Written by from La Mesa

Overall a very impressive set of headphones in terms of sound quality, fit and ease of use. Over-ear/behind head is the only way to wear them because, as with all noise-cancelling buds, the cable touching your clothes creates a loud scratching sound. Regardless, any in-ear will create a pressure point that gets sore, and these are no exception, but it not bad. When inserted properly, the sound is excellent with deep bass and so clear it pipes the music right to your spinal chord. Difficult to switch from under-chin (with microphone accessibility) to over-ear/behind head (hides microphone) quickly, and makes phone functionality poor when over-ear. They are light weight and the battery lasts forever. The voice announce/instructor is too loud.

    Fit Is Vital

    • Written by from Vashon

I have owned mine for three months. I found the fitting process time consuming. What makes these phones different other than the bluetooth is that they are heavier than other phones. I was hopping that I could use them while running without them falling out of my ear canals, but no such luck. They are expensive and work well but the sound is not as clear or neutral as others. In the end I wear them around the house or outside in the yard, but for sheer pleasure the Etymotic mc5 at under $100 are my favorites both for sound and comfort.

    Best earphones for running

    • Written by from Greenfield Park

Amazing sound. Great fit for me after about 30 minutes of trying different sizes of cushions and wings. I sweat a lot and they didn't move at all. Great Bluetooth range, far better than any BT device I own. Great battery life. Works fine with iPhone 3Gs, iPad and Mac mini. Lightweight and stylish. Used their Live Help Support service to get the pairing to work on the Mac (problem was on my side, I wasn't putting the buds in pairing mode) and this service is great!
Only words of caution: if you're the active type, you will most probably use the over the ear configuration, which is not good for phone calls, since the mic sits behind you head. Fit is everything. Really block outside noise, which is not a problem for me when I run, but could become a safety issue for some.

They don't make headphones like they used to

    • Written by from DICKSON

For some bizarre reason I was sick of my wired Sennhieser PMX 680 headphones because the band around the head makes it difficult when on the plane (or laying down), plus cables are annoying. Going from those to these headphones - what a disappointment. Unless you want to spend the whole time holding these in position, the sound is barely better than the stock Apple headphones. Connectivity drops out repeatedly when using wifi (a pain if you listen to lots of audiobooks). I give these two stars because they are very light and, apart from the constant feeling they are about to fall out, they are very comfortable, also because there is barely any cable they are so much easier to transport. For now I'm sticking to my wired Sennheisers. I simply cannot sacrifice the sound for comfort.

    Excellent!

I had the non-premium Jaybirds for a couple of weeks and they had a glitch, so I returned them to Apple Retail Store and paid the difference for the premium buds. There is a world of difference!

---The bluetooth signal is much stronger (I keep my phone in my left pocket, which didn't work well with the less expensive ones) and the actual device is much sleeker.

---They're extremely comfortable; after working with all the different attachments I found the perfect fit. They flawlessly stay in when I run.

---The audio feedback is a person's voice, so I don't have to remember which beeps mean what.

---I'm told that when on a call I sound very clear.

The only thing to watch out for is that if you consider yourself an "audiophile," this product may not meet your needs. These are intended for runners and do fancy technobabble to the audio so that it will reduce "runner's fatigue." But as I am not an audiophile, I think they sound terrific for all around use.

    Fitting is very important.

This thing sounds terrible if not fitted right. Takes a bit of fudging to get it right.
It's otherwise a pretty sweet headphone, a bit on the expensive side though.

    Nice Headphones, Bluetooth Problems

    • Written by from Virginia Beach

Bought these to use mainly with my iPad. I stream a lot of TV shows and movies. Unfortunately using WiFi (streaming) and Bluetooth (headphones) at the same time can be problematic. From what I've read the Bluetooth signal uses the 2.4gHz band, so unless you are able to select the 5gHz band for your WiFi signal, there will be conflicts. My WiFi and Bluetooth signals constantly fought each other causing poor streaming and frequent popping in the headphones. Overall though the headphones looked and fit nice. They sounded good too when listening to music with my iPhone. So depending on you plans these are great for stored music files but not so good for streaming.

    Sound cuts out

    • Written by from Simi Valley

If you hold the phone in a certain way the sound will cut out. At the gym the sound cuts out while the phone is in my pocket. Returned the first pair because of this and now i will be returning the second.

Great set of Bluetooth headphone for the gym or walking

    • Written by from Minneapolis

These have an awesome sound and were well worth the premium price for good sound. I use them with my 7th Gen Nano. I find that setting the equalizer to Bass Boost sounds best with them. For ear buds they stay in the ear pretty darned well unless you are an excessive sweater...(which I am) I find I still have to push them in once in a while but the over the ear option is the way to go. I may need to play with the combination of ear tip sizes and secure fit ear cushions. I tried to save some $ and got the Motorola S10's at Best Buy, but returned them and got these at the Apple Store. (The s10's sounded like very bad) Pretty happy with my purchase so far.

Great sound not secure for running

    • Written by from Hampstead

after weeks of research i found these buds, I have medium sized ear, like the average guy. I Did a jog with these, first the sound is very good, bass is amazing!! BUT, the sound is as good as the fit is, meaning if the buds slip a bit and not 100% secure the sound quality goes 50% down. I tired all fits possible, took me good 2 hours to try and fit all sizes with a light jog. First, it is secure for good 2 minutes than the buds always slip out, it is even worse when you start sweating the buds just cant stay in properly in your ear, when sweating even when not jogging just working out at the gym, the buds are slipping out (not falling of course), as i mentioned than you lose the quality of sound by 50%. Im going to return them unfortunately.
