    My Quest

    As an international competitor I needed to find the best earbuds on the market for what I do. I went through many pairs of workout, sweat proof, and even some other bluetooth buds before finding these. After using these for practices and workouts about 2-3 times a day (about 4-6 hours) I can say Jaybird X are the best on the market. My pair have been washed and dried, soaked in water, and dropped countless times. They still work perfectly.

    Battery died just stops charging

    Really appreciated these buds until the battery died after about 10 months usage. Will not buy again at this price.

    AAAAH NO NO NOOOOO I CAN'T JUST GIVE JAYBIRD BLUEBUDXs ONLY 5 STARS

    ******** AAAAH HELP I CANT STOP ********** WHEN I SAVED UP TO UPGRADE MY MOST IMPORTANT BODY PART TO AN IPOD NANO/WRISTBAND CARRIER WITH JAYBIRD BLUEBUDXs IN FEBRUARY 2014 it still is as of November 2014 my most major buy of this year (not to mention most years) BUT ITS MY BEST BUY EVER EVER EVVVVVERRRRRRR!!!!!! Don't you agree music, podcast, and phone calls are very very very very VERY IMPORTANT TO EMOTIONAL WELLBEING!!!!? Then trust me I learned the hard way you can't afford Dre. Beats Buds or Bose Buds at any price over Jaybird BluebudXs! I'm going to try and cut my raving shorter than the all day I WANT TO RAVE ON THEM!!! BUT FIRST I WANT TO RANT SOME REVIEWERS MINOR CRITISISMS ON SOUND QUALITY AND BASS AND PRICE ARE NIIITPIIIICKY AS MUCH AS MOSTS COMPLIMENTS ARE MASSIVE UNDERSTATEMENTS!!! I would love the sound of my BLUEBUDXs as much and of course the bass of my BLUEBUDXs way way way more than my former Bose buds and I would love the bass of my BLUEBUDXs and of course the sound of my BLUEBUDXs WAY WAY WAY WAY WAY MORE than my former Dre. Beats Buds even if my BluebudXs were just wired buds too. But of course the WIRELESSNESS and how they are BUILT AND CASED TO LAST SO MUCH MORE makes such a much difference more than the little bit more you pay.

    I think the BluebudXs were such a good first Impression of Jaybird that I'm excitedly looking forward to probably being moved to probably come back to Jaybird for my biggest buy of 2015 and hopefully the spirit being moved so much within me I'm back here raving at least as enthusiastically by December 2015 about the Reign Activity/Sleep ban?

    my son kept taking my Bose sport headphones to use them, and eventaully I knew they are gone.
    i bough those from the bridge water apple store.
    after much reading and you tube instruction viewing , i finally got them customized to my liking.
    the fit is great and comfy.sounds fantastic. and the battery indicator on the phone is great plus.
    one charge will get me 7-10 day worth of running. FYI , I run daily 45 minutes.
    they are rated sweat resistant which worked great as i sweat a lot.
    the only really issue I dealt with , is that the instructions were not very helpful in explaining above and under head fit.
    briefly , those are expensive but worth the money blue tooth fitness headphone

    Conflicted

    I started out really enjoying these headphones. The freedom to move my head and look around while running; without the continuous pulling on my ear-buds was far more appealing then I thought it would be. The sound quality was better then my Boss headphones. The battery life was impressive and connectivity to my phone was flawless.

    I was very happy with my purchase for just shy of 6 weeks or more specifically 28 runs. Near the end of my 28th run my headphones cut out only being mid way through their charge cycle. When I plugged them in to charge the LED turned on for a minute or so, and then turned off never to be seen again.

    I called Jay Bird support and went through the troubleshooting process, which ultimately confirmed that my buds had died. Being passed through to the RMA process after purchase confirmation, I was told that I would need to send my dead buds back, and once received a replacement product would be sent to me.

    Here is my synopsis. The Blue Bird headphones are a great product in design and functionality. With a $200 plus dollar price tag though, Jay Bird is placing themselves in the premium product category. The fact that my premium product died in such a short time period is disappointing but could be a one-off issue.

    The fact that I have to pay out of pocket to return my product to California, wait to have it received and processed and them wait again to have my replacement sent back is certainly not what I would quantify as a premium product RMA process.

    I can’t help but feel that if this product line failed infrequently, a more customer service friendly RMA process would be in place.

    Replacement Ear Cushions

    I bought this headset and I really like it. I can't say I love it because way to many callers have said "repeat that" due to background noise . They say wow the wind is blowing, but I'm just walking. What bothers me is the cost of the replacement parts. You spend $170 for the headset and you get 6 ear cushions (S, M, L). I only need the S so the M and L have no value. So when one of them pops off which they will do after use, you have to pay $9.00 to buy another set of (S, M, L) cushions. So $9.00 for what equates to two useable cushions. Why can't I order just the size I need? Through the life of my headset I'm sure I will spend upward of $50 in cushions and receive a total of 10 useable cushions.

    Maybe someone needs to set up an exchange program as I'm sure there are some men out there who could use my medium and larges.

    Good But Still Needs Work

    I purchased these because I wanted a wireless set of headphones for working out. These have a great sound and battery life. The problem I have with these is the earbud construction and material. They slip out of your ears when running. I believe the coating on the rubber earbud covers makes them slippery when sweating. Sony has the best earbud design of all the earbuds I have ever owned and I'm an audiophile who has owned alot of them.Also the earlobe hooks should be regid and not soft. The soft material offers no support. In the plus catagory the sound is great with little to no signal delay.

    BlueBuds X - Power Issues

    I just wanted to refute the reviews saying that the headphones won't connect to the iPhone 6. This is absolutely wrong. I got the iPhone 6 on release day and connected my headphones to it, literally minutes after the purchase. They work great! I would suggest that the people saying they don't work on the new devices did not pair them correctly. I have had absolutely no issue connecting these headphones to a multitude of devices. The only issue I've had is with the power. After using the BlueBuds for about 9 months, they have started having issues powering on. No matter how long I hold the power button, they won't power up, even though they are fully charged. A few times, my issue was resolved by simply connecting them to the charging cord for a minute or two and then disconnecting and powering them up. This would seem to "reset" them and they would power on normally until the next time they had to be charged. Unfortunately, this method is no longer working either. The LED charge indicator light immediately turns green when I plug them in. This indicates that the headphones think that they are fully charged even though they are not, and seems to be preventing them from "resetting" as they were before. I did some googling after this happened, and it seems to be a very common issue. Jaybird customer service is supposed to be good with resolutions, so I'm going to contact them about it. Aside from the power issue, I absolutely love these headphones. The sound quality is outstanding, the functionality is excellent, and not having to deal with a cord is incredibly convenient.

    OK but expensive

    I bought the Blue Buds X to use as gym headphones. They were my first Bluetooth product, and I've followed that purchase with a JAM Rewind BT speaker and a Plantronics M50 earpiece.

    First of all, the Blue Buds are very well designed and Jaybird supplies you with plenty of eartips and winglets to allow you to achieve a comfortable and secure fit. Still, I think my ears are inbetween sizes, so I'm considering the Comply foam tips. I continually have to reseat the left earbud when working out. I like the option to wear under or over ear, and the cord management system is very well thought out.

    Now for the complaint----why does my Plantronics ear piece, which cost less than half as much as these NEVER have a problem connecting? If my phone is on and BT active, all I have to do is TURN THE EARPIECE ON and it automatically pairs with my iPhone 6 and my Nano. No problem, 100 percent perfect every single time. The Blue Buds, on the other hand, are a hit or miss proposition. Sometimes it works, sometimes I have to make my device(both of them, actually) forget the Blue Buds and re-pair them. It's a pain, and it's pretty inexcusable.

    Still, if you're considering these or the PowerBeats, these are a no-brainer. The sound is not quite as good as my Yuin PK3 wired earbuds, but I figure BT is always a compromise. These sound as good as I expect wireless earbuds to sound.

    Works with iPhone 6 plus!

    I've had no issues using my jaybird Bluetooth headset with my new iPhone 6 plus. On my first attempt I was able to pair them. I highly recommend both the new iPhone 6 old and jaybirds bluebird.

    THESE HEADPHONES DONT WITH MY IPHONE 6 WHICH I FIND VERY VERY FRUSTRATING AND UNREASONABLE, PLEASE WORK ON GETTING THEM TO WORK AND PAIR WITH THE IPHONE 6. THIS SHOULD HAVE BEEN WELL THOUGHT OFF BEFORE, THAN LETTING THE CUSTOMERS POINT IT OUT!!!
    PLEASE FIX ASAP, THESE HEADPHONES COST A FORTUNE THE LEAST YOU COULD DO IS TO MAKE THEM WORK WITH YOUR LATEST IPHONE.

    Not what I expected

    I thought these would be very cool. I tried them on and they didn't stay in my ear. It didn't matter which gel I popped on. The ear bud part is so big (probably because of the wireless feature) that it weighs down the bud and slides out of my ear. I have to say the biggest disappointment though was that when you change volume up or down there is an audible beep and a slight pause in music playback. For the price I paid this was unacceptable. I give 2 stars because the sound quality was pretty good and the materials are premium. I returned them to apple the very next day.

    Difficult to Use

    In order to get the buds to even work, required around 30-40 minutes of setup dealing with cords and placement. Overall too complicated.Set volume on maximum and the still was not loud enough. Not the best fit in the ear, so if working out they would constantly slide it. However they were advertised to be for active users.

    Not Sweat Proof

    I bought a pair in June. I use them for running. First pair died in about 3 weeks. JayBird replaced them. Second pair died in a month. JayBird replaced them. They made me pay the shipping!! Third pair died in about a month. Waiting for my fourth pair to ship. JayBird is fabulous at sending replacements. However, they often expect you to pay for shipping. $170 for a product that doesn't last more than a month is terrible. If you're a couch potato, you'll love these. When they work they're great! If you're active, you'll spend more time waiting to get your replacements than wearing and using them. It takes 1 to 2 weeks to get them replaced. DO NOT buy these if you're looking for something "sweat proof". Other reviews have negative remarks about the battery. Maybe. Not sure. I figure it's because I sweat on them.

    Reliable, light weight, it has lasted over 18 months of use so far.

    I bought these earphones since its launch on Jan 2013. They are light and fit on my ears well. Sometimes when I sweat too much they fall off one side at a time but then I just dry each ear piece and put them back on. Battery is still lasting over 5h after 18 months of intense use. I work out every day and probably wear this guy minimum 5 days a week. I use them to run and to work out. People asked me where I got them and they commented they like the small profile and design. Although I had a problem two months ago. The earphones were not turning on anymore. Then I contacted the manufacturer and they just offer me to replace my earphones for free as soon as I ship them with the original charging cable. Well I finally found the original charging cable and then I gave a try charging the earphones with the original charging cable. It came back to life. Hahahah! Before I was used to charge them with generic cables. Maybe it stopped working because of that. Just a thought, not sure if that’s the reason why my earphones came back to life. x) I recommend this product. It works great for me.

    Best headphones ever

    I am an avid triathlete and can't train without my music. These headphones are easy to connect, and sound amazing. They are extremely comfortable, and are extremely sweat proof. I honestly don't know where I would be without them. Now I just need Ironman to allow headphones during the races. Absolutely recommend these to anyone who needs music while training.

    Perfect for me

    I see alot of bad reviews which i do understand if your having issues with craftsmanship but with fit everyone is different so here is my .02. First off my use for them is at work. I am a heavy equipment mechanic. I repair machines that some call earth movers. Ok my average work day is 12 hours a day and i work in Houston Tx so were talking 100 degrees alot so needless to say alot of sweat with no problems with my Jaybirds. As for fit it took some trial and error but now i have the perfect combo and they fit and feel great. Ok on sound. I think the only people that give bad reviews on the sound are the people that cant get them to fit right cause for me the sound is wonderful. Just as good if not better then my wired powerbeats that these replaced. Bass beats wonderful, perfectly clear even at full blast which is where they always there. And to the skeptics that think its what im listening to dont have alot of bass, i will tell you that 90% of the time im listening to SHRILLEX and to those that know SHRILLEX they know he can beat the drums out of your ears. Im jaming to his new recess album right now. On the buttons i have no complaints. I love being able to connect to SIRI with my headphones. That was a huge selling point for me. Bottom line for me these headphones are top dog for wireless earbuds. I came to this conclusion after returning the motorola s11, powerbeats 2, and the back beats pro all in the last week to best buy before finally falling for the Jaybirds. Hope this review helps someone. My opinion these head phones are wonderful.
