    JayBird Bluetooth Headphones

    • Written by from Hope Mills

These headphones are incredible! I bought them to replace a pair of Motorola Bluetooth headphones that I bought on Amazon. I'm an extremely heavy sweater and the Motorola's stopped working after only two weeks. I've had the JayBirds for almost a year and a half and they're still going strong!

First, they almost never fall out of your ear. I do a lot of Crossfit and the only time they start to come loose is when I'm jumping rope for an extended period of time. The "waffles" really help hold them in place.

Next, they stand up to excessive sweat extremely well. I'm in the Army and was deployed to the Middle East for the last eight months, through the summer months when the average temperature was over 120 degrees. And through that heat and my sweat, these headphones still work with zero issues.

They also work okay across a gym. I can set my iPhone down next to a rack and walk around the gym pretty freely without losing quality or the connection.

The only reason that I gave them four stars and not five is because there isn't a battery indicator on them. So you may end up losing music in the middle of your workout due to the battery dying. But honestly, that's more my problem than the headphones - I could have charged them every three or four days regardless of whether or not they needed to be charged.

I would definitely recommend these to someone looking for quality Bluetooth headphones.

    Very well done

    • Written by from New York

I must own 30 sets of headphones. For running i've tried everything but i HATE the cord tangle that goes with all of them. i tried a few bluetooth versions but they were not stable or didn't stay in the ear or gave pretty poor sound. These guys seemed to have nailed it!

Works well. Fits well (make sure you experiment to get the tips and the wings just right for you). It makes a big difference in the amount of sound that goes in (especially during activity).

Pleasantly surprised with them. Well done Jaybird! They took an extra year to come out but overall they seem well worth it.

    Best BlueTooth Headphone....ever!

    • Written by from Tallahassee

I had 2 S9s and 2 S10HDs both died due to sweat. I HATE, HATE Wired headphone because I primarily use my headphone during workout sessions. This BlueBuds X is by far has the best sound, comfort & battery life. You have to try different ear piece to find what fits for you (takes me a day or two). The sound quality (deep base) rivals any wired headset and there is no 'wearing' fatigue like with other headphones. Most other headphones, I have to max out the volume, you won't have to with this one unless you want to go deaf. As an Electronic Engineer, I am quite impressed with how small the battery is for the 8 hrs of play time. The weight to battery life ratio is quite amazing.
I have iPhone 4S with iOS 6.0.1 and I have to DISABLE WIFI so that the music doesn't cutout for a second every so often. This is iOS 6 WiFi, BlueTooth problem and not the headphone's (have similar problem with Wireless Beats also). Google iOS 6 Bluetooth (or Wifi) problems for yourself and see. Come on! Apple you have got to fix this problem or this can turn to the 'iMap' fiasco I can see it now 'iPhone, iPad are great if you don't want to use BlueTooth features). Wireless Beats & BlueBuds work great on Android phones with out any problem so I am certain it's not the headphones.

    Just don't hold up

    • Written by from San Antonio

Great sound, awesome fit, and love the wireless, but alas, they did not hold up. After about 3 weeks, and right in the middle of a run, they cut off and I was never able to get them to come back on. I exchanged them for another pair at Bestbuy and within the next week they stopped working. In the middle of crossfit session and they continued to redial my phone repeatedly before shutting down completely. Again, could not get them to come back on. Not sure they stand up to sweat as much as Jaybird claims. I managed to return them and get the $170 back (thanks to the extra insurance I paid). If Jaybird fixes this glitch, these will be well worth the money.

3 pairs just stop working disappointed

    • Written by from Dawsonville

I just sent back my third pair of jay birds bluebuds x units. They all started out working and sounding terrific at first ...but after an hour or so of running/working out they just power off on there own for no apparent reason and will not come back on. Extremely frustrating. The jay birds service person I spoke with says perhaps I just sweat too much. :-/. If it were one pair I would chalk it up to chance but I literally have tried three pairs and each one the exact same thing happened. I'm going to go try some wired premium head phones now.

    Great idea, but poor execution

    • Written by from palmdale

Bought my first pair last week at the Apple store and returned them the next day, left bud was dead. Tried another pair which sound good when working, but they dropout too often and sometimes will not connect. Seems like we are their beta testers!

    Great when they work......poor reliability

    • Written by from Watlington

I recently bought a pair having used the original Jaybees for some years. The sound quality is fantastic and the comfort and fit exceptional, however.......they worked fine the first time out, but the subsequent 3 times after a full charge, they have shown full charge on the new battery icon on the phone yet after 20-30 mins they repeatedly try to dial my last called number and then shut down without warning and then won't reconnect until after another full charge then the same happens again. They will be returned. Reading other reviews it seems to be a common problem.

    Nice Clean Sound....

    • Written by from Elk Grove

I have these and I had the ones prior and these are great. Improved bluetooth technology keeps them connected and the sound is amazing! A bit pricey but if you want quality bluetooth earbuds you will not go wrong with these!!

    Beware - poor quality

    • Written by from Raleigh

I am now on my third pair. The previous two suffered from the same fate as many others have spoken about in these reviews - they just stop working. Fully charged after 30 minutes or so they just turn off/stop working. No warning either. They won't turn back on until I've put them back on the charger. I sweat a lot and I'm thinking the seal around the port doesn't completely seal out the moisture. After a while that moisture works its magic and that spells doom for these otherwise wonderful headphones. I purchased mine at a local Best Buy. Thank goodness they just take the broken set and give me another. I'm fully expecting these to stop working and when they do I will move on to something else. Too bad. They held so much promise.

    Great Product!

    • Written by from Memphis

I have been very frustrated with the durability and the lifetime of some "sweatproof" headphones. The JayBird comes with a sweatproof lifetime warenty which is good because of the price. I recieved them as a gift so that wasnt a factor for me, so far I see them to be worth every penny. They have various attrachments to allow a secure fit no matter your ear shape (have run into problems with that with other headphones). The bluetooth seems flawless on a full charge which is easy with usb adaptor. I even put my phone on a table and walked away without noticing and had flawless connection. I run a lot and if you read the directions it tells you to keep the device connected with bluetooth to the right side of the body it will have better connection. Love them so far seems like I will not need another pair of headphone to lift/run in for a long time. Couldnt be happier

    3 pairs in 6 months

    • Written by from Stittsville

I was given a pair of these earbuds as a gift in February. Once properly fitted and paired they work great. Unfortunately, I've had 3 pairs quit on me. I wear them running and they get very wet from sweat, I'm assuming this is the problem. All 3 pairs quit mid workout and would not power back on (after a full charge). I really like them, when they work, but unfortunately I've had it with them. Time to move on.

NOT WORTH IT. THEY DON'T LAST...

    • Written by from san Jose

I bought those headphones about 4 months ago and used them with great pleasure for about 3 months, when all of a sudden the battery lasted for only for 25 minutes (with full charge) then 15 minutes....then 5 minutes....now they will not even turn on. Totally disappointed by this investment. Not fair...sorry! But while I used them they were awesome - delivering the best music experience cordless...perhaps an update is needed

Right track, not ready for prime time

    • Written by from Reston

I bought and returned these to the Philly app store in the 14-day window. The concept is great but the design needs work.
    1) The in-ear fit for me was just not comfortable. I tried all the ear tips and was able to get a good seal but they made my ears hurt after ~15-20 minutes. When running I could live with it but for conference calls or sitting around it was very noticeable. I had the same problem with the B+W C5s...both have larger 'barrels" under the ear tips so that is my best guess as to the cause
    2) Lots of bluetooth trouble. Setup was great but I had frequent dropouts and failure-to-connect using them with my iPhone 4s (with up to date IOS).
    3) The earbuds stick out really far so you can't lean your head on a pillow (e.g. airplane flight, falling asleep to music). That's only a minor thing for me; maybe it matters to you.
    3) The sound quality was great for music and for calls...wish they worked better overall.

    Not what everyone says

    • Written by from San Diego

I was looking to improve comfort of my runs with these headphones. Unfortunately these are not worth the price. While running ear piece would loosen up and have to continue to push back into inner ears. Under style pulls against neck feeling every step taken, while over the ear style feels heavy and not in place. Sound is great when in quiet room. Once outdoors running, sound is not up to wired volume. Build quality is AWESOME. Voice Jenna is great and battery indicator on iPhone 5 status bar is a plus. If improve ear mount like Bose Sport SIE2i and sound volume outdoors, I may come back to these, until then sticking with wired Bose SIE2i for running...

    Not for Running or Exercise

    • Written by from Little Rock

I really wanted to like these, but I ended up returning them (and thank you Apple Store - the return process could not have been easier).

The bluetooth connection was good - but not consistent. The fit in the ear was not great - I ended up using the over the ear loop piece because I could never get the "in-ear" fitting to work correctly. The loop that goes around the neck was not good at all - it constantly pulled to one side. This made the earbud want to come out of my ear.

I was using these for running. If I had not been using them for exercise, they might have worked better.

If you are looking for headphones to use while exercising/running, I can't recommend these.

    Bluebuds X

    • Written by from Kernersville

There are many Bluetooth Headphones available, there is only one that sits at the top of the food chain, that being the Bluebuds X.
The sound quality is amazing, as good if not better than similarly priced wired headphones. Phone quality is great also.
I have had 3 pair of bluetooth headphones, none of which were by Jaybird. There is no comparison on any level to the build quality, sound produced, fit, comfort, size, and battery life.
This was the product I have been waiting for.
8 HOURS OF BATTERY LIFE IN THIS SMALL DEVICE!!!
I was very skeptical because of the price, but due to my extreme satisfaction with this product, I will be purchasing another set for my wife and possibly for my child, without hesitation.

    Dies suddenly.

    • Written by from istanbul

The first set died in four weeks and the second set in three months. I have the third pairs now and waiting for when will happen again. I think they are not completely sweat proof. Because they both died during running.
Replacement is a big issue, if you live a country where there is no jaybird support and apple store.
I replaced my third pair in Hong Kong apple store where i bought it. They first refused to replace it, then changed their mind.

    Great Product. Excellent Customer Service

    • Written by from Toronto

I've had my BlueBuds X for a year now and I use them everyday. I run with them, I sweat all over them and I haven't had any problems at all. They are comfortable, sound great and perform as indicated. Love the convenience of changing songs/accepting calls/adjusting volume with the remote. I recently lost one of the ear tips and JayBird customer service replaced them for free THE NEXT DAY to Canada. Great product - great service.
