    Not for everyone

    • Written by from Logan

I had a difficult time fitting for my ears. After 3-4 hours of finding the best fit I loved them for about a week. The more I moved the harder it was to keep them in my ears. I think I might have a unique ear canal or something. I bought these because they look great and are great in theory. I returned them today ultimately because they were falling out as I was eating my lunch trying to watch a movie on my mobile device. I wish they worked out for me.

Jaybird bluebuds X premium bluetooth headphones are a dud

    • Written by from LAFAYETTE

I can't speak highly of these wireless earbuds. I found it very difficult to get the earbuds to fit properly in my ear. The earbud unit is large and sticks out awkwardly. Worse yet, the battery lasted barely 2 hrs each time I used it. Bought them to ski with and hear tunes. Got a dud. I don't recommend them. Will wait next time until Bose comes out with wireless earbuds.

    Unbiased review

    • Written by from Newport

I have tried various headphones, and I love bose, no doubt the absolute best in sound quality and performance. However, I came across these at my local Navy Exchange so i took the risk, it was between these and the bose Sie2 green headphones. The primary factor I went for these was due to the freedom it provides. I am an avid runner, last month just under 150 miles, one of my biggest frustrations was always messing with my headphone cord. I have an iPhone 5 and a case for my arm, after running for a while the headphones would pull, or just become frustrating. These eliminate that problem. There are many reviews that complain about sound quality, however read the directions, they are very truthful. They tell you you may lose the bass in the headphones, and you will, the way you fix that is changing your bud. Amazingly, when you do this they sound great. The battery life so far is great, I have pushed it to 2 and a half hours of running and battery still showed 3 quarter strength on my phone, no complaints there. They stay secure when fitted properly, and they will fall out or lose quality if they are not fitted properly. If I found bluetooth bose headphones I still will go for them, however there is absolutely nothing wrong with these.

These are hands down the best bluetooth buds I have tried and I have tried just about every pair out there.

These are NOT for everyone and may take some time to properly fit but when you do, it is well worth it. There are multiple ways to wear them and fit them depending on your usage. All of this is easily available on their website.

At first the ear fittings may be a bit uncomfortable if you use the optional ear pieces , the rubber is a bit stiff at first but loosens up as it fits to your ear.

Make sure that you use the bud size that creates a snug fit, if you use one too small it will lose most of the bass effect and fit looser.

Yes there are other earbuds with better fit and sound, but they are not wireless bluetooth so don't expect it to sound like a pair of Beats Studio be realistic.

I use these primarily for working out, running and cycling/skateboarding. I use them everyday and they have outlasted and performed all others. 4 of my gym friends have bought them and all agree that there is no comparison.

NOT WORTH IT. THEY DON'T LAST...

    • Written by from san Jose

I bought those headphones about 4 months ago and used them with great pleasure for about 3 months, when all of a sudden the battery lasted for only for 25 minutes (with full charge) then 15 minutes....then 5 minutes....now they will not even turn on. Totally disappointed by this investment. Not fair...sorry! But while I used them they were awesome - delivering the best music experience cordless...perhaps an update is needed

    I could live in these!

    • Written by from Kilauea

I don't even say that I buy headphones anymore, I just trial them because one day with flawed phones and all I can do is give them away.

I hate wires getting tangled when I work out, and don't even like them around my neck. I tried these in the "under ear" configuration and liked the sound and the fit, but the cable bouncing around got on my nerves... THEN I took the time to set them up over the ear and use the little clips to take out the slack and it was PERFECT!

Great sound, solid, solid fit and no bouncing cable! Good in the rain and I can hear around them when they are turned off. Just make sure you take 5 minutes to get the little tabs tabs and ear pieces fitted properly for your ears.

Of note, the over the ear configuration is not recommended for voice calls as the microphone is positioned behind the left ear. That is not an issue for me, but it might be for you. I love these phones and they will be my go to headset for the foreseeable future.

Sound OK but too many problems

    • Written by from Mississauga

It takes like forever to make it fit and then it keeps disconnecting. Don't even think about calling them for help. This is the worst product I have ever bought. There are many alternatives with half the price. Definitely not worth.

    Almost there, but not quite

    • Written by from DRAPER

This product has high-quality sound but poor craftsmanship.
Pros: amazing sound quality. Lightweight. The option to wear over ear, or under.

Cons: Cap covering the charging slot is flimsy. Send cutting out problem as other reviews mentioned. Bluetooth distance is approximately 30 to 40 feet, then you'll start hearing the crackling. Once you have your pieces set up to your liking, everything changes when you start to sweat. Price!

My recommendation, spend $99.99 on Plantronics Bluetooth earbuds. One step lower sound quality, but10 times better craftsmanship. They do not come loose from sweat. Distance is much better and they're not buggy like the JayBird.

    Do these ever fit?

    • Written by from Richmond

For those willing to kill over two hours figuring out how to get a pair of headphones to fit correctly, this is definitely the product for you. I'm sure the sound is fantastic once you manage to figure out which one of the 72 (yes, 72: 3 ear pieces, three ear tab things and you have to do it for each ear) combinations of things in the box make them stay in your ear. Melissa in their instructional videos is pretty attractive, but I have no idea what she means when she says the band is 'adjustable' when you're trying to do the over-ear setup before you lock it down. It is impossible to move it without the 'adjustable' clips falling off.

Unfortunately, I don't have two hours to spend figuring out how to fit headphones, so I'll probably be returning these in favor of Yurbuds behind-the-ear bluetooth headphones.

    Sudden Death

    • Written by from Washington

My first ones died in a week, second pair lasted five months, third ones two months. All of them died suddenly while I was running. Gong for my fourth pair one because I can't get my money back. Costumer service have been very attentived and I haven't had problems replacing them but I am guessing they are not really sweat proof. The only reason I'm giving two stars is because of a very good costumer service and when the BlueBuds work they are awesome but unfotunately they keep dying.

    Dies suddenly.

    • Written by from istanbul

The first set died in four weeks and the second set in three months. I have the third pairs now and waiting for when will happen again. I think they are not completely sweat proof. Because they both died during running.
Replacement is a big issue, if you live a country where there is no jaybird support and apple store.
I replaced my third pair in Hong Kong apple store where i bought it. They first refused to replace it, then changed their mind.

Poor Value. Sound and Fit are bad at best.

    • Written by from Salt Lake City

Marketed highly as a headphone for the active lifestyle, I was let down across the board. Fit was intolerable even with "proper fitment". Sound quality was comparable to earbuds that came with the your 1980s pocket rocker. They have lots of outside noise penetration. Sometimes they sound like the sound is in mono. They are kinda easy to pair, but generally controls are vague.

    Almost Perfect

    • Written by from College Park

I bought these on the recommendation of a Best Buy sales associate without researching. The headphones are pretty easy to pair, but getting the right fit took some time. Once I figured that out, I immediately understood why the sales associate recommended them. They sound fantastic and are on par with my Klipsch S4 headphones. The bass is nice and deep and I can hear the mids and highs as well. I listen to them while on public transportation without hearing much background noise. I thought the mic/volume controller would be heavy, but I don't feel it at all. About the only thing I don't like about these is the call quality. Nearly everyone I talk to complains about the call quality. I intend to keep these for my commute and to take to the gym, but for calls in my car, I'll continue to use a bluetooth earpiece.

    One high-flyin' bird

    • Written by from Van Nuys

I've had every generation of Bluetooth buds from Jaybird. Awesome product and customer service! I have been rockin' the BBX since the day they became available and can't wait for the next generation. So excited!!! I can't believe that there are any negative reviews. Maybe I've just been very lucky or maybe people are unknowingly purchasing illegal, pirated products that are not from Jaybird. Anyway, I take care I of my gear but, I workout 4+ days a week and never workout without my buds. I put them through some punishing sessions and then follow that up with 30+ minutes in the sauna, and yes, I wear them IN THE SAUNA!!! My workouts include every type of weight training that has been invented. I stick with one for two to three months then change. I also do HIIT sprints and bleachers on my OFF days, while wearing buds. I believe in sweat! If you ain't sweatin', you ain't workin'!! All that to say, I had to return my first pair of "JB-100's" because they kept dropping signal. Got the replacement pair, free of charge, and had no other problems. Next, the "JB-200's" and no problems. Then, the "Freedom". No problems. Got the "Freedom Sprint" buds and after the first week, they just simply stopped working all off the sudden. Returned, replaced for free, no problems after that. I've had the BBX for over one year now and no problems whatsoever. So, five and a half years, two mildly inconvenient problems which were remedied immediately and great customer service...
... if only JAYBIRD built cars. I'm a huge fan. Thank you to everyone at jaybird!

    Great Product. Excellent Customer Service

I've had my BlueBuds X for a year now and I use them everyday. I run with them, I sweat all over them and I haven't had any problems at all. They are comfortable, sound great and perform as indicated. Love the convenience of changing songs/accepting calls/adjusting volume with the remote. I recently lost one of the ear tips and JayBird customer service replaced them for free THE NEXT DAY to Canada. Great product - great service.

    Very Disappointed

    • Written by from Phoenix

Bought these for my wife and I for outdoor activities. My set worked for 2 uses and then they started cutting out whenever the earbud was moved slightly and the control buttons malfunctioned causing all 3 buttons to only function as on/off buttons. My wife's battery only lasted about 3 hours from day one and this has not improved with recharging. Not quite the claimed 8 hours of run time. The buds wiil also not stay in place. Standard iPhone buds stay in place much better.

So So Quality, Bad Customer Service

    • Written by from Shelby Township

the earbuds are okay. sound is good, but impossible to get them to fit properly, or stay in, because of shape of buds and rubber ear insert. what's more, when my charging cord went bad in the first two months, they would not replace it. simply refused and told me any android charging cord would work. this was my second problem purchase from this company. they have flashy advertising, but that's basically all you're paying for. you can get a much higher quality set of earphones for the price they are charging. plus, do you want to pay for non-existent customer service?
