I purchased the printer on February 11, so here's my "48-hour old" review. I closely followed the directions and had it setup and running in less than 15 minutes...it worked flawlessly right out of the box. It easily connected to my home network and I then installed it wirelessly as the default printer on an iMac, MacBook and MacBook Air. In each instance it printed a test page the first time. I was also able to print from an iPhone and an iPad. I haven't used the fax yet, but I did scan a document as a PDF to my iMac. I had a minor problem installing the cartridges, but only because the space is a bit cramped and I have large hands. At this stage, I'd recommend it to a friend.

    Excellent home printer

I've owned this printer since early November. I went to Epson's site for the drivers and installed them rather than using the disk provided. Once set up, it immediately found my home network and all Apple devices (MacBook Airs, IPads and IPhones) in the house can print from it without fail. This is the best feature of this printer as far as my family is concerned. It is easy on ink and the print quality is good. The only con is that the scanner had a little bit of a learning curve and the feeder is sometimes finicky but the scan quality is good. I recommend this printer/scanner.

    AirPrint Not Working

AirPrint does not work out of the box. The printer is connected to my Wi-Fi network. My Mac is able to find it on the network. But my iPhone does not. The EPSON support page said I may need to update the firmware from my Mac. The EPSON firmware updater can't even find the printer, even though the Mac OS can. I guess I will just use this for printing from my Mac, but the whole reason I got it was for AirPrint :(

    OSX software is AWFUL

I wanted to be able to scan from the printer using the printer buttons so spent hours trying to get their flawed software to work. Even their installation disk does not install their "Epson Scan" product but no matter as it didn't work anyway.

And their "Event Manager" software does not respond (spinning ball of death). There is no support from Epson online for OSX other than the basic installation instructions (that do not work).

I ended up deleting all of the Epson software and just have to be happy scanning from my Mac using Image Capture and the basic OSX driver for the printer. That part does work well.

I'd love to hear if there is a printer out there for Mac OSX that will scan from the printer buttons over a network.

seems the issues/complaints i read about are operator error. air print works fine as long as i set up properly. the scan works fine it does scan a bit slow but no big deal. all i can say to those with complaints is read the instructions and follow them. for air print epson has an app that works nicely for free, the only issue is the wireless connection goes away so i have to push the wireless button but that could be my router will no for sure after some more use.

    good and bad

The bad part about this printer is that it is a major pain to set up to use all the features. By this I don't mean plugging in the cables. I mean getting it to work using the EpsonConnect service.

The software CD that comes with the printer includes the 'basic' software you need to use the printer with your computer, but for some strange reason does NOT include the software needed to use EpsonConnect. You have to go to the Epson website and download that. I'm sorry, but to me, that's a bit stupid.
However, once I did get the printer set up, I discovered some of the very cool features it has; one of which is what is called 'scan to cloud'. This is a very cool feature with the exception that it does NOT support Apple's iCloud. I really hope they remedy this very soon.

All things considered though, this is a very cool printer, I like the expanded wifi features such as iPrint and AirPrint. But I think the scan to cloud feature is the one thing I'll use the most. It is a good printer for the price.

    When it prints...

When it prints it's a nice printer. The printer prints for a while and then you have to set up the wifi again. Scanning was always an issue and even when the printer was connected with USB the Mac Mini could not find the printer. Printer goes back to Best Buy tomorrow. I hate that I already spent $80 on XL printer cartridges.

    Perfect for small business!

My favorite thing about this printer would have to be the ability to print remotely. I can be driving back to the office, load the document in the Epson iPrint app and send it to the printer and pick it up when I arrive. This has saved me literally 20-30 minutes each time I print something.

The settings on this thing are astounding. I love that I can scan to email addresses, or even DropBox. It makes sending the scanned files easy.

Other reviews have said it's loud, which I'm not sure if that's true, I have it in a closet because there's really no reason for me to have it out anymore: I don't need to plug it into my laptop, I don't need it sitting on my desk taking up space.

My only beef, I guess, is that the scanning is a bit slow. Sure you can load 30 docs into the page feed, but holy cow that would take forever to scan. It's really not a big enough problem to dock this awesome life and business saving printer a whole star.

error message: unable to connect to printer

The printer sounded great. My husband set it up with his PC and with my Mac. It works fine with his PC, but inconsistently with my Mac. I keep getting an error notification saying it is unable to connect to the printer. I have tried to re-install it 3 times now and also tried troubleshooting based on online reviews. It will work once or twice, but then the error message appears again. Works great to print from and scan to my email, but it's not worth re-installing the driver every time I want to print from my Mac! I debated just buying a two-way USB cord to hardline to the printer, but that's not the point of a wireless printer. This is going back to best buy today. Thank goodness there is no re-stocking fee within 15 days.

I purchased this printer several days ago. After unpacking the printer, within 10 minutes the printer was connected to my wireless network. No problems at all. No wires. Get the Epson iPrint app to access other printer functions from your iphone etc. Works great with my iPhone for printing and scanning documents.
