    Don't be put off...

    • Written by from New York

...by the lack of a decent product photo. It tells you nothing about this little gem. I was in the Apple Store recently listening to another small speaker for my iPad and discussing its sound quality with another potential buyer. Meanwhile, an Apple salesperson was fiddling around with the bluetooth setup of this speaker and his iPhone. When the sound came through the JBL, the other customer and I were very pleasantly surprised. Wow! Crisp, and deep sound that took command of the open environment. Think of what it would sound like in my space. We both bought one. I dig it so much, I'm buying another as a X-mas present.

    kills the jambox

    • Written by from Kansas City

this speaker is the best of the small bluetooth speaker, bar none. i think i know audio and i have done alot of research. granted its not my macintoch/thorens/jbl or the klipsch 5 way on my computer, but i wanted something portable with no distortion. i hate distortion!!!!!!!! i own a jambox, what a disappointment!!! THIS IS SO MUCH BETTER THAN THE JAMBOX. SO IF YOU WANT GOOD SOUND IN A SMALL PACKAGE, TRY THIS ONE I KNOW YOU WILL AGREE. $99. CHEAPER THAN THE BEST PRICE ON A JAMBOX

    Much better than the Jambox

    • Written by from Evans Mills

I agree with the other reviewers...this little gem has much better sound than the Jambox! And looks better too - the jambox looks like a cheap lego piece!

What a bluetooth speaker should sound like!

    • Written by from Foothill Ranch

I've listen to them all including the Bose Soundlink and nothing sounds as good as the JBL Flip.Hands down the best.Long battery life, easy to connect and good distance. This speaker is also loud and very clear at it's loudest.Good base and great highs.Forget the $200 Foxl and check this out for under a hundred. You will be happy with this one.Better get it at this price because JBL is catching on to it's popularity .I've seen it for $129 elsewhere.

    awesome little thing!

    • Written by from scarborough

this speaker will give you a blast, better than the jambox or the dr. dre beats pill. value and sound at its best. totally worth it, totally surprised by the great sound it gives. you can't go wrong with this purchase. the bose soundlink wins the pack but at $300-plus, most will find it too pricey. for $99, the jbl flip takes the cake...

I bought the Flip because I needed a smaller speaker and I don't care too much for wires everywhere. I wasn't sure what to expect out of the bluetooth technology but have definitely been impressed! My nephew kept borrowing it whenever he came over and so I've decided to buy him and his sister one for the holidays. Luckily, the price isn't too high so it's a fun and affordable gift.

    Jbl flip blue tooth speaker

    • Written by

You would be hard pressed to find a blue tooth speaker this size with this much kick for a better price. This is a great buy. I bought one for each room of my apartment. I like having parties on weekends and my friends love that they can play music from their phones when they visit.

    great sounding speaker

    • Written by from Hanover

I bought this speaker for my wife to use with her I-pad and I-phone. Sure we can go wireless through our big sound system but you have to turn on about 4 things to hear it. Once this speaker is synced up, which takes seconds, it's just a push of one button.

As far as the sound quality, I was amazed. I have Bose speakers and everyone seems to compare the quality of audio to this name brand so here it is. The Bose speaker may throw off a little more bass but if you just listened to the music without seeing a logo on the side of the speaker, the quality is about as close as you can get. There is no reason in the world to spend 3-4 hundred dollars on a single speaker when this JVC speaker is available for about a hundred. If my memory is working correctly, JVC has been making high quality speakers long before Bose ever came into existence.

If your looking for sound quality and portability, you will not be disappointed with this JVC speaker.

    Absolutely brilliant

    • Written by from WEMBLEY

I bought my first JBL speakers in 1981. At that time, most music I listended to was mastered using JBL studio monitors and always sounded superb on other JBL speakers. Now I travel a lot for work and have much of my music collection on my laptop. But listening on headphones is just not quite the same, is it....so I lwent searching for the best bluetooth portable speakers for me....

The Apple Stores I visited don't typically demo the JBL Flips. Having now purchased and listened to them, the reason why is clear. They would never sell the more expensive Jambox nor Dr Beats pill if they did! The JBLs are SO far in front on musical quality, it is a joke! That JBL can make them for $99 is both miraculous and a gift to anyone who wants top musical quality from a lighweight, portable speak at a reasonable price. And it comes with a carry case too. JBL focus on making make speakers, and always good ones...these are no exception. Sure, some look more trendy (but the JBLs are nice too), and others have a deeper base, but none I have listened to come close for overall musical quality.

At least try them - you won't regret it!

JBL FLIP = Clear sound, deep bass at a really small price!

    • Written by from POINTE-AUX-TREMBLES

I went originally to the apple store to buy either a Jambox or a JBL MICRO. But I ended buying a JBL Flip. The sales person at the store said that this product should do the work as good as a jambox (which is more expensive) and hundred times better than a JBL Micro ($40 less). So, I've decided to trust him and give it a try!! As soon as the pairing was made with my mac and the music started, I knew I bought an incredible product! And there's also a Mic to answer calls that works great! I saw some reviews that said that the Bluetooth wasn't working properly with an obstruction between the phone and the speaker. So, I went I'm my garage to test it, I placed my phone behind a 2 inch metal plate at 20 feet away from the speaker and the sound was still perfect! I highly recommend it to someone who want to buy a good portable speaker with big sound and deep bass at around $100-150.

First, I can't believe this speaker is not advertised on the wireless speaker page of the Apple Store...you have look it up in the search box. I have the Bose Soundlink which sounds Great...but then I also bought the Shocbox which was a dismal speaker. The Shocbox had a great theory on it's design, but failed miserably on sound and pairing. Now, I just got my new JBL Flip, which is clear, loud and nicely designed. It is not as loud as my Bose, but again for it's size it is quite impressive. I wanted a very portable speaker for school, as I am a PE teacher at an elementary school so my kids and I could have music wherever we go on the playground. Super sound at a very reasonable price. You can't go wrong with this speaker and I highly recommend the JBL Flip!

    Can't go wrong with JBL!

    • Written by from goleta

I bought this for my mom for christmas this year and she can't seem to put it down! She had been asking for a nice PORTABLE speaker for her iPhone and she said this is perfect. As far as sound goes, it will not disappoint! It gets pretty loud considering its size (which is not much bigger than a soda can!). The bluetooth works exceptionally well. It has a very clean, and sleek look. My only complaint is that when you aren't listening to is beautiful audio it makes a buzzing noise which isn't a very big deal but it can be somewhat annoying, I understand that some speakers do that but it can just get on your nerves a little bit. Besides that I love this speaker and it was one of my moms favorite gifts this year!

Sounds great, but volume will only go so low

    • Written by from rogue river

This is a great little speaker for larger rooms. If you're looking for something for an office like I was, this will blow you out of the room. My only issue, if you can even call it that, was that the volume will only go so low before muting, it was just too loud for my office and will have to return it. Other than that, this speaker is awesome, great sound! Would highly recommend if you're looking for some loud awesome sound.

Great sound - perfect for cycling!

    • Written by from San Marcos

The sound is amazing for the size, and pairing is simple and reliable. It also fits almost perfectly in a water bottle cage on a bike. I use a couple of old rubber bracelets (like the LiveStrong bracelet) to hold it in place and I have mobile tunes on bike rides. People comment all the time how awesome that is, and I love it. The only con is, as other reviews have stated, that it should have a USB port for charging. Other than that, this thing was worth it at twice the price!
