I thought this would be a good Bluetooth speaker but when I actualy gave it a whirl not so good first of all I had issues with skipping sounds and then crackling then the Bluetooth range is very limited. Not recommended
The sound is ok if you hardware it but what's the sense also no micro USB charger that's even worse

Its amazing that this little speaker can play so loudly, while also sounding so clear. It kept everyone engaged and was a great addition to our family's annual camping trip.

It;s amazing how good (and how loud) this speaker is. I've seen some reviews mention blue tooth connection problems. I've had no problems when I'm connected by my iPhone 5, but some dropped connections when using my first generation iPad. I recommend this speaker.

Turning this thing on definitely made my mouth drop. The clarity and volume this flip produces is worth mentioning. However, the bluetooth is horrible.

But...for $99 you can't complain

The sound quality on the Flip is unreal! It blows all the others out of the water. Lots of bass and doesn't get get distorted when you crank up the volume. I've had mine for almost 6 months now. I use it everyday at work.

The only thing it could use is a stronger Bluetooth signal. It's really lacking when compared to some of the others. And more recently, about every 30 minutes it will cut out for a second. But I work in a room with high voltage notorious for eating up radios. So, leave your device close to the speaker and its a great product.

I went originally to the apple store to buy either a Jambox or a JBL MICRO. But I ended buying a JBL Flip. The sales person at the store said that this product should do the work as good as a jambox (which is more expensive) and hundred times better than a JBL Micro ($40 less). So, I've decided to trust him and give it a try!! As soon as the pairing was made with my mac and the music started, I knew I bought an incredible product! And there's also a Mic to answer calls that works great! I saw some reviews that said that the Bluetooth wasn't working properly with an obstruction between the phone and the speaker. So, I went I'm my garage to test it, I placed my phone behind a 2 inch metal plate at 20 feet away from the speaker and the sound was still perfect! I highly recommend it to someone who want to buy a good portable speaker with big sound and deep bass at around $100-150.

For $99 i doubt you can find anything better. Problem is, the bluetooth technology itself still has a lot of room for improvement. The speaker goes like crazy when I'm using it on my macbook & there's a phone call on my cell (cracks, pop sounds, etc.). Guess the radio frequencies just clash or something. On my phone (Android) I cannot use WiFi at all while using the speaker via bluetooth (wifi just keeps crashing). On my macbook this problem is less severe, it's still kind of annoying, but at least YOU CAN stream sound and use wifi at the same time.

I do not blame these issues on JBL, there's a lot of users who experience problems like these on other bluetooth accesories. Also, the battery charger could have been USB, and battery life is quite frankly dissappointing. Sounds great though, although you can enhance the bass (which is pretty lacking) if you place the speaker over a small pillow-like surface. Also place the speaker about 3-5 feet high, and 4-5 feet or more away from you: trust me, it'll just sound better to your ears.

This thing has INCREDIBLE sound and works perfectly with my iPhone and iPad. Exceptional quality and exceptional sound. Very happy with my purchase! Makes watching movies or shows on my Ipad so much more incredible because of the huge amount of sound and detail it puts out. And don't get me started on playing music from my iPhone - Amazing!!!

Just arrived in the mail today. It has been great so far, couple skips but seemed to work great after a few tries.
