Reviews for JBL Flip Portable Bluetooth Stereo Speaker - Black

I went originally to the apple store to buy either a Jambox or a JBL MICRO. But I ended buying a JBL Flip. The sales person at the store said that this product should do the work as good as a jambox (which is more expensive) and hundred times better than a JBL Micro ($40 less). So, I've decided to trust him and give it a try!! As soon as the pairing was made with my mac and the music started, I knew I bought an incredible product! And there's also a Mic to answer calls that works great! I saw some reviews that said that the Bluetooth wasn't working properly with an obstruction between the phone and the speaker. So, I went I'm my garage to test it, I placed my phone behind a 2 inch metal plate at 20 feet away from the speaker and the sound was still perfect! I highly recommend it to someone who want to buy a good portable speaker with big sound and deep bass at around $100-150.

I do a lot of presentations and this is a very easy product to use. The first time that I used it, I literally took it out of the packaging and plugged it into the wall and connected an audio cable to my iphone. I appreciate both the ability to use it plugged into a power source as well as the wireless (bluetooth) and internal rechareable battery. You can place the speakers closer to the audience and speak from the podium and still control the volume from the iphone volume buttons. The sound is phenominal and the ability to fill a room is the best I have used for portable speakers.

Was really excited when I bought this little guy. The sound was pretty robust for how much you pay and the battery life was cool. The downfall of this product is it's bluetooth connection.

If I have the speaker 2 feet away and I place the phone in my pocket, the bluetooth immediately cuts out. Any time the smallest barrier comes between the speaker and device, no matter how short the distance is, the bluetooth becomes spotty and struggles to maintain the sound.

I bought the Logitech UE portable boom box as its replacement and I'm way more content than I was with the Flip.

I bought this to replace my Logitech speakers. Big mistake. The base on it is non existent and it sounds horrible for a "room filling" sound. I would say its good as a desk speaker and that's about it. I love my Logitech and will stick with the same speaker just the new Bluetooth version. This JBL is not great. If you want good base and good loud sound you may need to go with a more expensive speaker from them.

This speaker has not let me down. I use this when I go over to my boyfriends house because he has an old boombox and its funny how this thing can outperform that! It is small, easy to take with you wherever you go, and best of all, it is so loud for its size. It also has bluetooth connectivity which is great when I want to watch DVDs on my computer and dont want to plug anything in. Hands-down, great investment for price - I'm gonna get my little brother one for his birthday.

You would be hard pressed to find a blue tooth speaker this size with this much kick for a better price. This is a great buy. I bought one for each room of my apartment. I like having parties on weekends and my friends love that they can play music from their phones when they visit.

I have the JBL on stage 3P, which has more power and twice number of speaker and this little guy sounds better. Totally worth the 100 bucks to be wireless, although it definitely does not last 5 hours on a charge, more like 3.

I bought my first JBL speakers in 1981. At that time, most music I listended to was mastered using JBL studio monitors and always sounded superb on other JBL speakers. Now I travel a lot for work and have much of my music collection on my laptop. But listening on headphones is just not quite the same, is it....so I lwent searching for the best bluetooth portable speakers for me....

The Apple Stores I visited don't typically demo the JBL Flips. Having now purchased and listened to them, the reason why is clear. They would never sell the more expensive Jambox nor Dr Beats pill if they did! The JBLs are SO far in front on musical quality, it is a joke! That JBL can make them for $99 is both miraculous and a gift to anyone who wants top musical quality from a lighweight, portable speak at a reasonable price. And it comes with a carry case too. JBL focus on making make speakers, and always good ones...these are no exception. Sure, some look more trendy (but the JBLs are nice too), and others have a deeper base, but none I have listened to come close for overall musical quality.

At least try them - you won't regret it!

I have one of this amazing device . The sound is strong and the bass sound is so good for your size . I am happy to have this one.

I've had this product about a month and while it seem to work okay at first, now the Bluetooth connection continually cuts off after about a minute or two. I'm sure this is a problem of the JBL Flip speaker because 1) my other speakers work well with connected to the same phone, and 2) other reviewers have mentioned the same problem. Too bad because like other reviewers I am impressed by the sound quality.
