    Terrific little speaker

    • Written by from Morton Grove

I don't understand the complaints about the difficulty in charging the unit. What's so difficult? If you don't want to charge via your desktop or mac, then simply take a wall adapter from your Kindle, iPhone, whatever, plug it into the block and plug the USB into your desktop. Voila. No problem.

Speaker is portable and the sound is terrific for the price and for the size.

    Convenient Bluetooth and good sound

    • Written by from San Francisco

I've enjoyed using the speaker when traveling, to play music in a hotel room. It's nice when you want to share music, not just listen with headphones. I've used it also when cycling, put the speaker in a handlebar bag, and then used my iPhone to play music. Safer than headphones, and not having to attach a cable makes things less cumbersome.
Another use for this device: I used it to provide the input to a car radio on a recent trip. (iPhone bluetooth to the device, then plug this device's cable into the car sound system auxillary input.)

    Good sound, easy to use

Bought to listen to podcasts, iTunesU, and music on iPod 7th gen in the car. Easy to pair, good sound quality, fits in the car cup holder, bright color, very portable - the size of half a sort of flat baseball. Comes w/a storage/protective bag. Yes, a wall charger cord would have been nice, but I've got plenty from other devices. No, it doesn't replicate the sound quality of Avery Fisher Hall in NY (nothing does), but for a relatively inexpensive Bluetooth small speaker, and for my purpose, sound quality is crisp and it's a winner.

    Ok speaker product but...

    • Written by from Houston

No clear power source. Only way to recharge the hard to use speaker is through using a USB cable. Which, of course, is not compatible with most ipads and all iphones. Why not include a power source?

The speaker was a gift and not something I would normally purchase but I had a slight need for a speaker for my ipod so I tried this product out. Speaker works as a sound amplifier well. It doesnt perform well as a stand alone music system sounding if the music is somewhere on the am dial.

A product like this shouldnt be anywhere this difficult to use. If anyone has a better way to power up the rechargable batteries other than via USB connection to an "in use" PC, Im all ears.

The initial sound output is good but after a1-2 hours the sound becomes inaudible; like a stuttering or interrupted transmission. it's annoying to have to reset the speaker. jbl isn't a good brand anyway. I figured since the Apple Store was selling the speaker they were endorsing it too. Sadly, I was wrong.

    Great for Basic Use

When I was looking for something to play music in my twin's bedroom, I didn't want to get a big CD/Stereo player; I wanted something portable for around the house, trips, etc. After all, all my music was already on iCloud and not CDs. Then Apple made this speaker available in its store, so I decided to try it out and have been satisfied that I did. The blue tooth is easy to set up. The sound is great, especially for lullaby-type music. And it stays charged for a decent amount of time. My only complaint is that it didn't come with an a/c power adapter for the USB charging cord; but an old iPod adapter seems to work fine.

I would highly recommend this product for usage similar to mine.

I was originally going to buy the product to try, but after turning it on, it quickly connected itself with my iPad and amazingly clear sound came out via bluetooth. I instantly wanted to buy another one.

I also tried using the 3.5mm headphone jack, no loss in sound quality.

Already conviced someone else to buy it! Definitely worth every penny.
