Bought this case as soon as it was available on the Apple Store website. Received it yesterday as well as my new IPhone 5 and I LOVE IT, the phone too. Protects the iPhone very well and doesn't make the phone bulky. I highly recommend it.

    I Don't Love This Case

    • Written by from Highland Park

I don't love it ... and I don't hate it. But for the price I paid, I expected it to be a little better. Overall, the design is sleek and fits pretty well. The texture of the case is a matte-finished, somewhat-soft plastic with extra texture along the sides for a good grip. In black, it complements the black iPhone 5 well, even though it obscures the back of the phone and logo. But what bothers me is an odd lip that runs the width of the phone on the top side. This lip, which doesn't appear on the bottom of the phone, makes accessing the power switch awkward and seems like a design mistake. I suppose it's there to reinforce the top of the case which would otherwise be weakened by the large camera cutout, but I don't like it. I considered cutting off the lip but am afraid it would weaken the case too much. This lip doesn't appear on Incase's Snap Case for the iPhone 4/4S -- just on the case for the iPhone 5.

Case too thin at top by hole for camera

    • Written by from Mercer Island

The hole by the camera and flash are so large that there is only the thinest piece of plastic above it. This thin strip of plastic broke in less than a month of use :(

Weird lip on the top and not Long enough on the bottom

    • Written by from Los Angeles

I love incase and I've only used their stuff with my previous two iPhones but for some reason this case doesn't seem to fit correctly. There's a strange lip on the top that protrudes further than the edge of the phone and its slightly too short on the bottom. Also the edges have lines where the plastic molding connects together which makes it not completely smooth. Not sure what's up but the manufacturer does seem to be different than the previous snap cases I've had. Poorly constructed really.

    LOVE the Case. One flaw.

    • Written by from San Antonio

I really like this case. It's very slim. It fits perfect. All in all, it provides a reasonable level of protection from scratches and minor drops. I've dropped my phone getting out of the car a few times, and the case has done its job. Meanwhile, I still get to enjoy the slim feel of my iPhone 5. No, it's no Otterbox. If you need that kind of protection, then this isn't the case for you. I think this case is the PERFECT compliment to a SquareTrade warranty.

There are other slim cases, but the Incase Snap Case is unique in that when the phone is inserted properly, the edge (or lip) of the case extends above the front glass by a little less than a millimeter. Due to this lip, I can place my iPhone face down (for privacy) on a surface, and not worry about my screen actually touching the surface. This is a huge plus in my opinion.... and it's been very hard to find in a slim case.

The case has one flaw. I too have experienced the finish of my case flaking off. It began happening on my iPhone 4 after about a year. Let me be the first to say, that's lame, and Incase should do something to remedy that. Maybe they already have. I have not experienced it on my case for my iPhone 5.

    Great all around case!

    • Written by from Ellicott City

I bought this case along with my white iPhone 5 and so far so good.

Overall, this product has a simple design that compliments the iPhone 5 while providing some light protection. The sides of the case are coated in a matte "rubber like" plastic to enhance grip, but also act as a bumper. If you push or squeeze the sides there is some give which helps absorb a light impact.

The volume buttons are covered which help protect them and the silencer switch is deeply recessed for protection. The raised lip along the front of the phone protects the screen and allows you to lay your iPhone face down without worry.

The back of the case has a nice large camera cut out to reduce image haze. On my version (the black) the back of the case is slightly translucent and even a bit transparent making the Apple logo visible in almost any light. I also appreciate the fact that InCase has placed their logo along the side. It's simple and doesn't take away from Apple's design.

Others have brought up the top lip which does recess the sleep/wake button slightly, but it's a design decision to protect the button. It's there for a reason.

I don't really have any complaints. It's a great case for daily use and traveling without a doubt. I'd like the volume buttons to be visible, but I appreciate the thoughtful design which protects them. It's not a negative. I try to appreciate each design for what it brings to the table and InCase did a great job of finding that middle ground between sleek and functional.

The great strength of this case is the amount of grip you have with it. I've had the case on for about a month and it's never slipped out of my hands. I hope that it will be durable for at least a year and I believe that it will. Realistically, we use our devices more and more these days and nothing will last forever. If it lasts a year at $29.95 and I replace it annually I consider it a win. It's protecting the one thing that I use most during my day.

I'm happy with it! Go buy it.

exactly what it claims to be.

    • Written by from GLENDALE

I've now had this identical case for my iPhone 4 and 5. Yes, there are more durable cases out there. Yes, it doesn't necessarily offer the best protection, i.e. it's not an Otter case. But chances are if you're looking at this case, you want the best minimalist case out there, and this would be it.

I've dropped my phone with this case on it on hardwood floors in my home, on the treadmill at the gym, and it's fallen out of my hands against the hard pavement of the street. Even when the phone landed face down on any of these surfaces, the case has done it's job. It's protected my phone, and the case has been in tact. Now, my last one on my iPhone 4 lasted a little under a year, so don't expect this one to be any different.

But if you are looking for a minimalist case that doesn't add any bulk to your phone, slips in and out of your pocket easily, has a GREAT grip... then this is it. But don't expect to find a catch all case that protects your phone against nuclear war and still makes it look good...

    Works great for me!

    • Written by from Spring

I've had this case for a while now, since it first came out. I love that it is thin enough so my phone is not "bulky", but still very protective. If I had any complaint it would be that the power button on top is sometimes a bit difficult to use because it's set so deep within the case... however this does prevent you from accidentally hitting it. I love most Incase products and this is no exception. I didn't have any issues with mine, like another review said, about a "lip" up top or seams on the sides. My case is perfectly smooth all around.

    Love it

    • Written by from ARLINGTON

I love the fact that is not bulky, yet it protected so well. Let's just say it was dropped like 5 times (hard) and it didn't break. ;) so I highly recommended.

    "ruberized" incase peels

    • Written by from Hillsborough

I have a similar incase case- the "slider"- material looks the same- just got back from vacation and after a week of hot weather, despite phone being kept in my pocket or backpack, the "rubberized" material that coats the hard plastic bubbled and began peeling, ruining the case. So beware of hot weather if you are going to buy this or a similar incase

    Coming apart

    • Written by from Carlsbad

I bought the black one and loved it for the first month I had it. I'm on my second month and it's starting to come apart at the seams. The rubber sides are "glued" to the plastic shell so it is starting to lose it's bond.

    No Good..

I've had this case for 3 months and the glue has come undone on the sides so much so the case is unusable. I wouldn't recommend this case.

    This case blocks WiFi

    • Written by from Laguna Niguel

After months of presumed satisfaction, I come to find that the Incase Pro Snap Case blocks (decreases) the WiFi sginal to my iPhone 5 when I am at any distance >15 feet from my home router (Apple Airporter Extreme). In fact, my finger over the right spot on the back of the iPhone 5 will decrease or block the WiFi signal. Now, in search of new case.
