    Loving My Jawbone Up

    I'll bet the Jawbone Up team may be surprised that a 67 year old woman is writing this as I don't imagine I'm their primary demographic. However, this product has worked perfectly since I put it on about 10 days ago. It syncs immediately unlike a rival product that I tried earlier. I love seeing how active I've been and I'm beginning to see a pattern to my inactive times. I also am fascinated with the graph of my sleep patterns. In addition, the Up actually holds its charge as long as it says. Mine went the full 10 days.

    Here are a few suggestions for making a super product even better:

    1. I would love being able to see the time, then I could do away with my watch.
    2. I realize it would be difficult, but it would be great if we could buy extra colored bands and change them to match our clothes.
    3. In the future, I hope we will be able to sync without taking off the band, and plugging it in to our mobile devices. How about just touching it to the screen?

    Broke down after a month use

    The UP by Jawbone worked fine for a while. But after some weeks the switch-button became problematic and now (one month later) it does not work at all. Tried to reset the device without success. My (amateur) conclusion is a mechanical failure of the button. Today, I search the net and found others with the same problems.

    Great Concept-Poor design

    I wish I had read reviews before making this purchase 6 weeks ago, but I did not. When the band worked it was great, but like the others (the UP band is listed in several places on this site), I am now stuck with a band that will no long er charge. Apple does not stand behind their sales after 30 days so I am having to deal with the manufacturer. Too bad all around.

    Get Frustrated and Lose Money

    Bought 2 one for em, one for hub both were broken after a month. Got them replaced and same think happened to the new ones. Asked for money back never got it. Would give zero stars if possible.

    Poor quality

    I bought an UP band (gen 2) back in November 2012 once it was re-released. I have had FOUR failures of this product so far. Jawbone has been nice at replacing it, but I would not recommend this product due to the poor quality of the products I have had.

    Up band

    I am on my second band. After my first one stopped working, I emailed customer service and received a new one with no questions asked. So far so good with the new one. I do think the company needs to fix the glitches. Two friends have had their band replaced also.

    works great....for a couple months

    My UP worked great for about 3 months and then stopped charging. I called Jawbone and they sent me a new one and 2 months later it did the same thing.

    Gave it a shot, but I want out.

    Avoid it. I really liked this product and app, which is why I decided to keep exchanging for new ones when my band kept breaking. I'll now be on my fourth band within a year, and I realize that it will never fully work for a regular product lifetime. I am stuck in an endless cycle of exchanging bands after every few months. I either have to hope each new band breaks within the three-month exchange period or hope for a non-defective band, which has not been the case after three bands.

    Purchased the Up and really liked the app. But I had to keep doing a hard reset ever few weeks since it would just die. After a few months not even the hard rest would work. Sent it in for a warranty replacement but, it took Jawbone over a month to send the replacement. The replacement broke in a month. First they told me the replacement would ship in a few days, after waiting a week they said they didn't know when they would ship it. After waiting a month they said it will be at least 3 weeks. Don't waste your money or your time. Nike makes a much better product.

    Buyer Beware

    On my fourth bracelet in 13 months in its breaking down. I was told that my warranty is no longer valid and can't replace it. I must have lost over 3 months of tracking with all the exchanges. Major design flaws - when it works it's great but expect that to last 2-3 months tops of you use (used)like me everyday. You will need to buy a new one every year.

    Do NOT recommend this band - It will break!

    I am on my third band in 4 months. After doing some quick research online I see a lot of people who have similar experiences as mine. I'm sad to see that many have run out of warranty and no longer get replacements after that.

    It is a great product when it works... it _just_ doesn't_ work. Both my previous bands failed after 2-3 weeks with various issues related to syncing, button not working, battery failure (not charging) and the like. I spent a lot of time troubleshooting thinking it _had_ to be something I did but realized its just a defective product.

    Only plus is during your warranty Jawbone is quick to replace it. I don't know why they continue selling it though.

    I hate to write bad reviews like this but I'm also getting sick and tired of companies that put out defective products and pretend everything is OK.

    Poor Performance

    I work in healthcare and take great pains to make sure I do not wet my Jawbone every day. It still has broken down on me 4 times. I refuse to get another; it's very disappointing to deal with the same problem over and over.

    Complete waste of money.

    It's the cutest fit band out there in my opinion. But the product doesn't last, I went through 2 of these in less than 4 months. Then it died any way in the end. And it seems like few people I know had the same issue. The concept is great, and the applications is very cool. But c'mon, it has to last a little longer.

    don't do it - no matter the price

    15 months -- my 4th up band just died. If you want to deal with customer service (and it's pretty good I'll admit - as long as you call and don't just rely on email) every 3-4 months for a replacement, then this band is for you. Is the up24 better? I hope, but I hoped that each generation of my disappointing UP band would be better. They weren't. Spend your money elsewhere.

    A disposable device, have had two brick in less than a year...

    On the first one dying (bricking) I figured maybe it was just the device luck of the draw so I paid for the return shipping (yes, in Canada if you have a defective one Jawbone makes you return the defective unit and it is on your dime). Now that the second one has died in less than a year of the original purchase (this one actually lasted 8 months) I have taken the attitude that these are disposable and not durable. I would rather keep my money and put it towards another manufacturers device.

    What I did like about the unit was the way the app represents your sleep and the style. Other than that I could not say that the features and implementation are ideal, forget the fact that they don't last.

    If a comparison against a FitBit Force (unfortunately they have their own issues otherwise it would be a no brainer to go with the FitBit) and another device I also found the Jawbone Up to come up short on step counts. It simply is not accurate and is out as much as 20%.

    My experience has been so bad that I have decided I do not trust any of the other products from Jawbone. Sad because I really liked the small form factor Bluetooth speakers. If I could give it Zero stars I would but I can't so I will give it one star for the app sleep representation.
