    Poor product

    • Written by from Binghamton

I registered for this and am totally disappointed. It takes so long for it to refresh to the actual video picture. By the time it shows you your baby or the image, its worthless. It takes so long. I wish I had the box to return it.

Worthless as a full-time baby monitor. Parents need a monitor that will work 24/7 (or at least through the night) without interruption. This product does not do that. I've had similarly poor experiences with other Philips peripheral devices. They are misleading, low tech quality, buggy, and I'll never buy another Philips product. Don't waste your money!

    Buyer beware

The app for this product is simply defective and that makes the product useless. This product should not be sold as a baby monitor. We tested it over a period of days and were never comfortable actually using it. Very significant delays and the Phillips helpline was less than helpful. We have the optimal WiFi router for the system and it still failed. It won't be long before this product is pulled off of the market.. I warned Phillips and hopefully others with similar experiences will do the same. I had to go out and buy a new video monitor which works as advertised. Again, do not waste your money on this product.

    Not worth the frustration

    • Written by from Newport News

I've had this monitor over a year and a half now and I continually need to unplug the monitor and plug it back in to reset the blinking light. This is the most frustrating when my daughter is crying at night and when I go to see her in her room, the monitor is not working properly. The talk back feature is a little frustrating as well since you can't hear while you are talking thru the monitor. There is also a little delay when you release your finger from talking. It's a great concept, but there are more bugs to work out still!

    Not Good

    • Written by from Berlin

We realized this product wasn't going to work as a baby monitor when my wife and I began having a conversation by the monitor. A minute after our conversation started we heard it over our monitor. It's hard to tell if there's a delay because you're not in the room normally when you're watching. Maybe a 3 second delay we could deal with, but a minute is WAY too long for a baby monitor.

Also, if you have too many devices connected to the wireless router your connection to the monitor will be terminated.

This is a flawed design and I'm not happy at all with it.

    DO NOT buy this product

It should be criminal to sell this product as a baby monitor. The title should read: Philips in.sight Wireless aggravation that wont work for more than an hour and keep you up all night

This thing is awful. I want my money back!

Don't trust it. It is delayed and the video cuts off after and hour and then the sound follows it, we have to go to store and find a new one just to feel peaceful at night! Glad this was a gift and I didn't spend money on it, still a huge disappointment.

    Not good for baby monitor!

    • Written by from Calgary

We purchased this as a baby monitor 3 days ago. It was easy to set up but I noticed right away that there was a significant lag between what was actually happening and what appeared on the screen. Usually about 30 seconds. My biggest complaint was the time it took to open the app. It would take almost 3 minutes to load the camera each time I opened the app on my iPhone. And many times, the app just quit. I am packing it up to return it as I type. Piece of junk.

Read these reviews and the app reviews. This thing is a joke as a baby monitor. I'm sitting here at 4 AM awake and frustrated because the app won't stream video any longer. This monitor was my back up plan and the video I have been using to see my child while traveling. Our main monitor failed earlier this week and while waiting for a warranty replacement, I've tried using this. Absolute junk, the software to support this hardware. Again, read the comments on here. Even with that limited purpose, if two devices have the app open in iOS (not even active) and they have not completely killed the app in their "active apps", a third device can't get in. Seriously, the product (the camera) is OK (quality video and audio) but the whole app (and the website for computers) is terrible. Apple, you need to quit selling this product. This does not work anything close to 'as advertised'.

Again, Do Not Plan To Use This As A Baby Monitor, I implore you. You will be frustrated, disappointed and, quite likely, very angry. I know I am.

    Horrible product!

    • Written by from Naugatuck

My husband and I were thrilled to purchase this monitor. Unfortunately, this product did not meet our expectations.
We were hoping to view our baby live especially for use at night.
Well, so much for the live viewing! This camera works great if you want a still image of your baby and nothing but a dark viewing! It's extremely glitchy as well!
I would not recommend this monitor at all, a back up monitor is definitely a must! It's a good thing we always have our regular audio monitor on!

Lawsuit waiting to happen! Parents beware!

    • Written by from Elgin

This product is specifically marketed as a baby monitor, and I will review it as such. I purchased the In.Sight baby monitor this past Saturday for our 8-month-old daughter's room. She is teething right now and sometimes wakes up at night crying very loudly as if something traumatic has happened. We have an Angel Care audio monitor, but we also wanted a video monitor so we can quickly and easily discern whether her life was truly in peril or if she was just having another episode of teething pain.

We bought the monitor from a retail store and brought it home. It took about 30 minutes to get it installed, set up, and running. Not too bad. However, I noticed very quickly that sound from the In.Sight monitor lagged about 10-15 seconds behind the sound from the Angel Care monitor. Additionally, the video signal seemed to lag another 15-30 seconds behind the already lagging audio. On top of all that, from the time I open the App on my iPod Touch 5 to when it finally displays live video ranged anywhere from 1-5 minutes! Sometimes it wouldn't display live video at all until I closed and relaunched the app. This did not seem like a very functional monitor, and I was already debating if I should return it.

The kicker came in the middle of the night Saturday night. We awoke to my daughter's loud crying through the Angel Care monitor (we had the audio off on the In.Sight since we didn't need two audio sources). I attempted to bring up the video on my iPod Touch to check on her. However, the app just sat there with that annoying circling graphic that means "loading" for about two minutes. Finally, the video came up, but the screen was all black. The infrared night vision wouldn't activate. After another minute of thumb-tapping and cursing, I gave up and went in to the baby's room. Turns out she was already almost back asleep, and me entering the room just woke her back up.

Anyway, I took it back to Apple the next day. This In.Sight monitor SHOULD NOT BE USED as a baby monitor! If you insist on using it, make sure you have a secondary "regular" monitor running in parallel. This product is a lawsuit waiting to happen. The potential exists for someone's child to be dead before they ever get any warning that there is a serious problem via the In.Sight monitor. I expressed my concerns to the kind gentleman who helped me with my return at Apple. Believe it or not, he ACTUALLY told me I should tell other potential customers about these issues. SO, that is why I am posting here!

Tried for days to set it up. Finally got it to work for about 10 minutes. Would not recommend. Taking it back to the apple store to change it to something else.

    Very discouraging .....

    • Written by from concord

I don't often write reviews but felt compelled to warn other about this. Seemingly simple set up with only a few steps but could not get to monitor to connect. Very little troubleshooting info available on the directions sheet. Scanned youtube for setup instructions and found only a couple options.

Tried to adjust my wifi to various b/g/n configurations as recommended, tried installing on iPad iOS 5, iphone 4 iOS 5, iPhone 4s iOS 6 and and iPhone 5 iOS 6. Could not get this to come close to working with any of them.

    Will be returning promptly tomorrow.

Also - it is not advertised on the box but is shown in the initial setup - the free ap allows up to 2 users to view and only for up to 5 min on 3G. You must pay 24.95 a year for the upgraded ap to allow more users or longer 3G viewing.
