I have in the past left my iPhone behind having to go back - but never again thanks to the hipKey

I have used hipkey for 8 weeks every day since I got it. I have hipkey connected to my iPhone 5 and use the Alarm mode to protect my iPhone. The initial pairing was very easy. Hereafter it took me a few days to get to know the technology behind hipkey (e.g. Bluetooth), which made me find out about the safe zone and set a handful of them up. Now hipkey is connected to my keys and just follows me around together with my phone.

Using hipkey has made me more aware about where and how I use my phone and made me more careful not to leave it behind by mistake somewhere (has happened before).

Battery performance is very good. Only one re-charge so far and still two bars to go. The battery effect on my iPhone is minimal. I still have one day on a full charge on the phone as before.

I have used the other modes a few times. E.g. child-mode on my 4 year old son when being in a crowded supermarket. The experience was quite okay. hipKey helped me not to be concerned about if he was too far away, if I didn't see him for a moment. It felt like a quite reliable experience. Motion mode has also been used to monitor my bag while being in a restaurant. No one touched my bag but when I went to get it I right way got an alarm :)

Overall I am very satisfied with my hipkey. It is a very reliable and high quality device, which I find easy to use and securing to carry. To all of you in doubt of buying hipkey I can only give it my warmest recommendations. Real value for money !!!!

I'm not a gadget kind a girl, but having left my phone behind or simply misplacing it way too many times, I invested in Hipkey. I love it! Not only do I remember my phone, but the movement alarm is really clever, and makes me feel safe while leaving my phone in my bag. Unlike other reviews, I had no problems in the safe zone?

Guess I'm a gadget girl after all - this is now my favorite accessory.

One review has mentioned false alarms. I don't get any false alarms on my hipkey. The connection is very reliable once established and the reach is quite good. Outdoor I get 450 feet between my iPhone and hipkey when they are in line of sight. Indoor the range is less but still acceptable. It depends on the rooms, doors, construction materials etc.

The trick not to get unwanted alarms is to use the excellent safezone feature. I have set up safezone's in my home, office, parents place and a few other places. My iPhone registers every time I enter and exit a safezone. hipkey does not alarm when being inside a safezone. Its a great feature.

I noticed that hipkey sometimes makes 2-3 beeps when I pick it up inside a safezoe. First I thought this was an alarm. I contacted the vendor and they told me it is not an alarm but a "safezone notification". Here is how it works:

When hipkey has entered a safezone it will not sound the normal distance alarms. If hipkey looses its connection to its iPhone it will start monitoring if it is moved (it uses the build in movement sensor). When moved hipkey will make 3 notification beeps to inform me that it is not connected to my iPhone. The vendor told me this feature is meant to warn you, that you are about to leave your safezone without your iPhone. Very handy feature to prevent you from leaving behind your iPhone when you go to work in the morning.

I have come to like the feature very much but also recommended to the vendor that they make this feature optional in the hipkey App. Not all might like this feature. They promised to look into it.

What made me like it:

- Very simple to pair first time and has worked ever since.

- Looks nice.

- The App is very user friendly, just perfect for a non-tech person like me.

- Long range. Measured up to 230 feet in sight so far.

- The re-chargeable battery lasts for a long time. After 2,5 weeks still no charging needed.

- Key's are protected for false pressed while carried on me.

- The mixture of features. Distance and Movement alarm in one device.



How it made my life a little easier:

- Great 'Find Me' feature that helps me keeping track on where I put down my iPhone all the time (normally a big problem to me).

- When taking my youngest grandchild to the mall to shop. I put hipKey on him and the App in Child Mode. He has more fun and I can shop relaxed, because I know he is around close by me.

- Not having to worry about leaving my iPhone somewhere. I know the likelihood of that happening is little, but just by carrying Hipkey with me, my awareness of looking out for my iPhone has increased, so it has a very good preventive effect as well as hipKey actually watching out for my phone.



Future wishes:

- Maps in safe-zone starts far away from where I am.

- App reminds me if I by mistake turned off the Alarm Mode (switch in top right corner).

I mainly bought Hipkey because of the find feature. I was hoping it could help me to stop spending stressful time in the morning searching for my iPhone or keys. It has been a success, the searching is now over, I just use the find feature and the sound guides me to my iPhone or keys. It’s a great relief.

Yesterday Hipkey past it’s test and saved my iPhone. I was at a café with my friend and when we left I overlooked my iPhone on the table, which also was quite cluttered with tableware etc. Just as we walked outside the Hipkey started to alarm me. At first I was embarrassed over the noise my new nice looking Hipkey was making, but then I quickly realized that it actually was telling me that I left my iPhone behind. I went from being embarrassed to being amazed, and my girlfriend went straight home and order one :)

This product gives me peace of mind in the mornings and has already saved my iPhone once. I love it.

I have had the Hipkey on me for a few weeks now. I think it is an excellent product. I often tend forget or run around for either my keys or my iPhone when leaving the house or the office - and on several occasions Hipkey helped me solve this in a very efficient way. Once you have set up the safe zones the HipKey is working pretty smoothly, only on a few occasions have I experienced bluetooth connection outage, mainly due to physical factors. I'm actually pretty impressed by the connection stability, range and coverage of the device so far.

Also I think that there is a lot more than just find your keys. I have been toying around with the motion mode using the device as a door alarm/notification, when the door opens I'm alerted that someone is coming home. Also I really enjoy the product design, there is a hedonic and exclusive quality to it, and an ease of use that certainly justifies the price level.

Very pleased with the hipKey...it solves a huge problem for me and does it in an elegant and efficient manner. Good job hipKey!

I'm done forgetting my iPhone at home and leaving it behind in the car.

This product is a life saver and a great peace of mind. It was easy to pair the Hipkey and I love how quickly in the App you can change the volumes and modes - not to forget - hit the find Hipkey button. Actually my kids and I have been playing "hideNSeek" with this feature - hide the Hipkey and seek it with the iPhone :)

The Bluetooth 4.0 is outstanding, I have not had a Bluetooth product with such a long range. It says 164 feet, but I have gone far beyond that in line of sight. I guess the write 164 feet range because Bluetooth signals do get interrupted by e.g. walls, your body etc.

The Safe Zone feature is quiet interesting and well thought through, it's sort of a alarm free zone. It's a great workaround to the limitations of Bluetooth. The devices can move around within the zone without making alarms, but then again the devices make a notification if leaving the zone disconnected. Actually Hipkey makes 2-3 beeps if it's moved and is disconnected at the same time in a Safe Zone.

This product has exceed my expectations and I will recommend it to people like me, that has a tendency to leave behind their iPhone :)
