Perfect Protection for a Retina Macbook Pro

    • Written by from Surrey

I purchased this to protect my fragile Macbook Pro with Retina Display. I was skeptical about getting a "matte" screen protector as I've heard you can lose sharpness as well as contrast. Once I put this on, all worries disappeared. You honestly can't even tell there's a screen protector on your Macbook. I love it. It was actually really easy to install, which I was also worried about because I live in a household with lots of pets (and pet hair). I would recommend this to everyone.

    Great buy

Extremely simple application! Reduces about 90% of the glare, I'd say. Leaves camera uncovered and visibility is awesome. Overall, great product but the price should be cheaper.

    Pros outweigh cons

Although it is true that the protector lightens the deep, rich blacks, and adds a certain "fuzzy" look to your otherwise stunning Retina screen, I have to admit that ever since I applied it - very easily and perfectly, I might add - I have had such peace of mind...
I am on my third screen, due to dead pixels and very minute, yet extremely visible scratches on the screen.
The product protects very well, can be cleaned and reapplied, and looks pretty darn good. Definitely satisfied with my purchase !

    Little benefit.

    · Great in low light
    · Reduces / diffuses reflections
    · Protects fragile retina screen (key as I just had to replace my screen!)

    · Glare is now diffused, but still an issue
    · Lowers contrast of screen content
    · Hard to see screen at an angle in bright light

I keep my laptop in a thick protective sleeve, but the pressure of other things in my backpack pushes the screen into the keyboard. Grit on the keyboard causes piths in the screen. I needed something to protect my screen. I originally bought this to use in my bright office to reduce glare in the mornings, but never used it until I had to replace my pithed screen. After replacement I use this for protection rather than reflection reduction. It does the job but the image quality reduction is a rough trade off.

I went through several screen protectors that were just a bubbly mess and a waste of money before deciding to buy this one. The price was a bit of a turnoff, but ultimately worth it since it's reusable, there are no bubbles, and it seems to do it's job reducing glare/finger prints. I also feel comfortable cleaning my screen without having to worry about dust leaving small scratches :) The only downfall is that you do lose some of the brilliance of the retina display - there is a grainy rainbow effect, but it is so small and very easy to get used to. Whenever I wish to make use of the retina display, I can just remove the screen and reapply it later, so that is hardly an issue. Plus, keeping my screen safe during regular day-to-day use is far more important to me than having a high contrast screen while just surfing the web.

If you are on the hunt - just buy this one, and don't bother wasting your money on the other brands - they just don't cut it. $40 is nothing compared to the hundreds it might cost to replace your screen later, or the amount it'll cost to go through the weaker brands before deciding on this one.

This protector isn't as clear as you thought it should be. Distractible and ruin the retina display.

    Very Nice Indeed

    • Written by from Dunedin

Screen is very important, and cost a bundle if one messes it up, so I bought this protector to give me some peace of mind. Read some so, so reviews saying that the clarity was not up to par using the Retina Screen, but my MacBook Pro 15 inch Retina Mid 2014 with the Moshi is just fine, no issues with the clarity nor brightness either. Very easy to put on, and if you goof, you can try again, and again until you get it right. This is a recommend purchase for those that are concerned about their screens.

Quality is good accessories and installation is hard

    • Written by from Miami

    Screen protector is pretty good.

Sticky part is only on the black border.
Pro: Good quality. Does the job
Cons: accessories that come with it are not enough. A piece of cloth and a piece of cheap cardboard. I've seen better on cheaper screen protectors.
At best would be to have an anti-static cloth.
Covered area is huge and lint is getting underneath right when you are about to put the folio.
Unsticking the folio is hard. It should be 2 stickers on each side so you can apply it straight from the top as per instructions.

If I would recommend it ? Yes. Only if you have patience to deal with it.
Should be done better for the value.
