    At Last!

    • Written by from Atlanta

Mountain bikers rejoice! I bought a Blue SC about a year ago and have been very pleased but when I ride, I crash. A lot. I'm not super comfortable with my iPhone mounted on my handlebars so the RFLKT is the perfect fix. It's like Wahoo Fitness read my mind but even I didn't know what I was thinking. Now I can crush the trails without worrying about crushing my phone. Slay the brown pow without fear, get a RFLKT.

    In all seriousness:

    Pros:
    -Music control
-Customizable data fields, layouts, and buttons
-Can display almost any data you could want
-Can store my phone in my camelback
    -Longer iPhone battery life
-Multiple mounting styles (included a Garmin twist mount... strange but awesome!)
    -Compact
    -Backlight for night rides

    Cons:
-Rubber band for the mount snapped. Would recommend zip-ties instead
    -No text/caller id/email alerts
-Takes a little toying with to get set up (via the app) but it's a set-it-and-forget-it kind of thing.

    Buggy but Useful

    • Written by from WILTON

I have now used the RFLKT unit for over 20 rides. I like the ability to customize the screens, the ability to keep the iPhone more secure (not mounted on handlebars), and the compact design. I had a bear of a time getting it to not freeze during the first 15 rides. It would just stop reading the iPhone data from Runmeter. When I finished riding, after a minute or so, it would usually give me the summary after I had selceted DONE on the iPhone app. Wahoo customer service is terrible, and Abvio (Runmeter) is not alot better. Yesterday I downloaded a firmware update for the RFLKT and for the first time in a month it made it through the ride reporting data in real time. If it continues to not freeze, it will be a great investment. If not, it makes a great activity (cycling) very frustrating, kind of the opposite you want to to feel on the bike.

What I have been waiting for

    • Written by from Escondido

I have been stalking the RFLKT since before its release. I had been using a Lifeproof mount and case. I was always a bit dissatisfied with the largeness of my phone mounted on the bars and especially frustrated with the enormous drain on the battery if I wanted to monitor my stats real-time while on the road. This device solved my problems.

I now can keep my phone safe in my jersey. I just finished a 2 hr. ride and still have 61% battery power left (I started my ride with 82%) This includes running the Blue HR monitor as well as the Blue SC speed and cadence sensor. I was also running Pandora the whole time. If I was using my phone's display, I would have been outta juice at mile 10. The RFLKT is everything you need and nothing you don't.

The lone bad review sites challenges dismounting the unit from the bar mount on which it is attached from the factory. This is a bit of a challenge, but if you use the included spudger tool and practice a little patience and common sense, this is not that big of a deal. Also, the loading screen displayed as your unit updates the software is not that bad. I might check my internet speed if I were having significant issue. This is assuming the individual unit being reviewed was not a rare dud from Wahoo.

I have used several Wahoo products, the quality is always great, they function with little headache and they are a great value for the $$. This is my experience.

The RFLKT is AWESOME! Allows me to ride with my iPhone and not have to worry about wasting battery on keeping the screen on or worry about breaking my iPhone in a crash!

    Fit for purpose

    • Written by from Bulimba

Did a three hour ride using Wahoo as the display and Strava running as well. Phone used 18% of the battery and did not miss a beat.
Paused and activated two or three times from the monitor without touching the phone (5c) and got all my heart rate and zones at a touch (hard push!) of a button. Not possible before without holding the phone in one hand and trying to ride hard.
Agree it is difficult to remove from the mount but I rarely do this and I think there is a twist off mount anyway?
Buttons a little stiff but not a big deal. Always use cable ties but the rubber helps get sensors positioned easily before you put the ties on. Definitely use the ties on the stem mounting as some force is needed to push buttons which will move the mount around if use rubber bands only.
I am still refining the screen layouts/order which is great if you like having the ability to design the layout of the inputs to suit your own needs or just like playing with it!
I thought the displays we're going to be difficult to see in direct sunlight but no issue at all.
Great product - highly recommend if you use phone apps.

Have used the RFLKT+ for 3 rides and has been flawless. Set up on 2 bikes took a couple of hours but relatively painless. iPhone battery is now conserved, could probably do a 6 hour ride.

    Battery Saver!

Recently got a RFLKT to use on a century ride (100 miles) and it worked brilliantly. Showed me my speed, distance (was very motivating to be able to know how far i'd gone already) but the best thing was I had my phone locked, in my jersey pocket, with the screen off and cellular data turned off, but still saw all the phone's info on the RFLKT. After 5.5 hrs of riding, the phone was still at 70%! Friends i was riding with had their Garmin battery go flat but I was still going hard. Great customer support too!

Saved a bunch compared to a Garmin

    • Written by from Atlanta

I believe all of the issues purported in the initial review of the RFLKT have been dealt with as I've had no issues with it working with my iPhone 4S though I did have to update the firmware. This thing has saved me a bunch compared to buying a dedicated Garmin bike computer. I get to keep the iPhone in my jersey pocket while the RFLKT shows me all of my data during the ride. I'm going to take the iPhone with me on my rides anyway, so why not use it as my bike computer? Seems pretty obvious to me. Works a treat!

    Very impressed!

I purchased a RFLKT recently and I must say, I'm a huge fan of this product. I was never very excited about mounting my iPhone on the handle bars of my bike but yet I wanted to have the phone with me for safety. This is the perfect solution, which allows me to interact with apps during rides, see all my data, select playlists, get GPS directions, etc without having to take out my phone. It also considerably saves the battery life on my iPhone. I find the display easy to read, even in direct sunlight. So worth the money! Especially when other GPS bike computers are much higher priced and don't interact with any apps. Well done, I'm extremely satisfied with this purchase and would recommend anyone to get one that is an avid cyclist!

    RFLKT

Works well. Great potential too as it is an open platform.
Don't forget to allow background refresh for the app you're using on your iPhone.
Otherwise you lose connection after a while.

    Great bit of kit

    • Written by from Bishop's Stortford

I use this to display all of the data from my bluetooth sensors on my roadbike. All my sensors are from Wahoo (cadence, speed and heart rate). It works well and is weather proof. Previously I had mounted my iphone on the handlebars but after a serious crash which miraculously my phone survived, I wanted to get away from leaving my phone in such a risky position. I also found the drain on the battery from the rather inconvenient turning the iPhone screen on and off to get real time data was too high. The RFLKT solves each of these problems and works well with the sensors I already have. This way I get all the benefits of tracking my performance on my iphone using the Wahoo app and then uploading to strava but with improved battery life, real time data always displayed and my iphone is safer in my pocket.

    RFLKT is all you need

    • Written by from Canton

The RFLKT is all you need if you ride one or several bikes. The initial Bluetooth sync was a bit unconventional however syncing with the Wahoo app is seamless every time I ride. I like that is comes with multiple mounts so I can use it on all of my bikes. It works every time and I like the feature that allows you to pause your work out from the RFLKT without taking your phone out. I ride a fair bit at night and the red light helps to keep me up to date on my ride stats.

    Awesome bike computer

    • Written by from Marietta

Just got my RFLKT a couple weeks ago and have been using on usual road rides. The device paired up to my iPod touch with no issues and I love that I can customize the display pages how I want. I do not typically use a computer on my mountain bike, but now that I can track all my data with one device, I think I will start carrying it with me. Especially now that they have the Garmin style mount available.

    Awesome

The RFLKT product is awesome! Although I didn't really get the name when I first heard it, it does exactly what it should! RFLKTs all the data from my iphone right on the handlebars! As a semi-professional criterion cyclist, this product pushes me to ride harder. No wires, no fuss. Great product!

    Brilliant Biking Bonus

    • Written by from Bury

We all know how poor the battery life of an iPhone is - totally useless for a long bike ride. The RFLKT is ace - sits on your handlebars telling your vital stats. Display is totally customisable to show speed, cadence, heart rate, etc.

    Pure brilliant!

Great screen to show workout. Battery lasts a year. Saves iphone battery. Could do 7 hour etape with some juice spare. Pairs to speed and heart monitor and uploads easily to Strava now. If it broke I'd replace it straight away.

    Love it

I've been using the rflkt+ for a few months now and haven't noticed any issues. I love to be able to control my phone right from my handlebars. The extra battery usage is noticeable, so for anything over 4 hours I'm taking an external battery pack. With the battery pack my legs are definitely the ones to run out first (12+ hours).

simple brilliance, update software and enjoy

    • Written by from Bromley

the primary use for me is distance, post ride maps (for myself not the greater world) and music control. Rather than use my bose headphone to control the music off the cord i find the RFLKT to be safer, quicker and easier to control. Great unit and I updated the software straight out the box prior to riding. As its bluetooth and battery life of gadgets is limited I attached my morhie juice pack to my phone which is stored either in a jacket, shorts or under saddle bag. Great price.

Using this for routine workouts, 3-4 times a week. Excellent capture of data.
Using Mio Alpha heart rate watch with the wahoo device. Uploads to strava well.
    Very pleased.
