    Great Little Drive

    • Written by from Calgary

Took a chance on this drive, was skeptical due to it's price. However, I have been pleasantly surprised. I run Cubase on my 15" Retina MacBook pro, and this drive hosts most of my sample libraries. The other cool think is its size...hard to believe it's a 7200!

    Love this lightweight, compact G-DRIVE!

    • Written by

For me, the best thing about this little stylish drive is that it adds nearly no weight to my briefcase - but serves an incredibly key function of backing up all my photos, music and work documents. After recently losing a bunch of files following my laptop hard drive crashing, I am finally a backup convert. It also runs very cool, which I understand helps prevent hard drive crashes, and it matches my MacBook Pro. I highly recommend the G-DRIVE slim if you're looking for a compact backup solution.

    Loving this drive!

G-Tech is one of my go to brands for storage. This drive does not disappoint! It's sleek and lightweight. As a video producer and editor there is nothing more valuable than reliable storage. I use this one to hold dailies or project samples and I can because of the amount of space it provides. Their small enough that I carry a few of them in my bag and keep my projects separate. I can never have enough storage.

Rocking little drive that transfers fast!

    • Written by from san francisco

I used USB flash drives to store personal photos and office files for years - but the size of files keeps going up and up. After getting frustrated with trying to find which files lived on which thumb drives, I bought this stylish, compact drive last month. It totally rocks - and I really love the look of it. Even my large DSLR images and video transfer super fast using it, and it's really lightweight and doesn't take up much room in my briefcase - so I can easily carry one or two around with me. I highly recommend it.

Ultra-slim, fast hard drive that's so lightweight!

    • Written by from San Francisco

I've been using the G-DRIVE slim USB 3.0 drive for several weeks, and it's a compact, stylish and speedy drive that easily fits in my camera bag or MacBook Pro briefcase. In fact, I've recently purchased several more of the ultra-slim drives - one for my day job, and a few more to use as quick backups of my flash memory cards while out on photo shoots (my weekend hobby). The G-DRIVE slim powers up using a USB port on Mac or PC (the cable's included) - and quickly transfers even large sets of files. For the best value, I suggest going with the 1,000GB drives so there's more storage space.

    Worked perfectly for me

    • Written by from Milwaukee

I only have pictures, music and a few documents on my MacBook. I have used G Slim for a few years to back everything up... you just plug it in and let it do its work. My hard drive just crashed this week on my MacBook. Apple replaced my hard-drive, I plugged the G-slim in and was up and running in 1.5hrs.
I think it has worked great. My hard drive crashed and I had zero stress.

I've had one of these for over a year - it lives in my backpack, and I've taken it all over the world to backup photos from my DSLR. Not only had it always worked great, but it looks great next to my MacBook Pro

Newest of four G-Tech Drives ...

    • Written by from Hillsboro

I'm not sure what you guys do to your drives to make them fail in five minutes or less. They aren't designed to be thrown against the wall, dropped on the floor, or driven over with your Yugo.

This is the fourth of four G-Tech drives (the others are FW800 and USB) and I have all four up and running with various machines. Never had so much as a hiccup.

This particular drive is extraordinarily light and thin, making it the perfect companion to the MacBook Air. I put my iTunes library on mine, saving the SSD space for work-related files and apps.

If you're looking for a top-notch USB 3.0 drive, I don't think you can do any better than this little jewel.

    Good Device

    • Written by from Charlotte

First external hard drive that I've ever purchased. Wanted to backup photos from my MacBook, however it synced up with Time Machine as soon as I plugged it in and backed up my entire Mac. Worked flawlessly (I hope!). Very easy set up. The device is very small. It's probably as large as some of the smartphones on the market and has a nice finish to it. Should be very easy to store in a briefcase.

    Slim, portable, external hard drive

    • Written by from Little Rock

This product works just like it is supposed to and is very compact. The appearance very closely matches that of my macbook air, which is a nice touch. I have used it to back up my itunes library and also as a time machine backup. I don't travel much, but it will be great to travel with if I need to bring along saved movies or other data.

    LOVE!

    • Written by from Austin

I love this hard drive. I have the 128GB Macbook Air and I store all of my movies on this drive since they don't fit in the Air. I take it with me everywhere, it's much smaller and thinner than it looks in the photos. I've never had any drive issues with it at all- highly recommend it. I wish I had gotten the 1TB, but that was my bad not G-techs at all.
