Parallels Desktop Saves Space On My Desktop

    • Written by from McHenry

If all web browsers were identical, then I wouldn't need Windows. But I design websites, and I need to view those sites on almost every web browser there is. Using Parallels Desktop for Mac, I can check the layout and function of my sites with all of those browsers; and I don't need a second computer taking up space on my desk. And if I get infected with malware? No problem! I just trash the affected virtual machine and open a new copy.

    Required Product

After switching to Mac several years ago, I discovered that some of my oldest and most favorite programs were PC only. The solution--Parallels Desktop for Mac. All of the programs ran, and still do, run flawlessly. Parallels is an essential program for any Mac owner that uses PC programs. Now there's no reason not to ditch the PC.

    An Excellent Product

This product is so good I'll never buy another Windows PC again. The emulation is very good and I haven't found anything that doesn't work correctly.

A perfect bridge for Mac mountain lion and Win8 and Win7

    • Written by from Songpa-gu

I use an iMac and a Macbook pro for personal publishing and etc.
Every day I switch back and forth from Mac OS and to Win8 and sometimes to Win7.
Since some of the local sites are still more smooth with Win7 yet.
By upgrading to Parallels8 for Mac, I even can't find that I'm using a different OS at the same time. It sure is a perfect bridge and a fast, accurate program.

    It just works !!!

    • Written by from Houston

Parallels Desktop 8 for Mac just works - it runs a Windows session under Mac OSX perfectly ! Even printers installed in OSX appear automatically in Windows; I installed WinXP (that I had purchased in the past and was not using anymore), and I was able to run Quicken 2012 Premier under it without a hitch. I "sync" the Quicken files with another Windows PC running Win7 through Dropbox (which also runs on both systems), so I am able to update Quicken in either notebook: MacBookAir or Sony Vaio. I highly recommend Parallels.

    Parallels and GIS, ArcMap

    • Written by from West Leake

I moved to a Mac three weeks ago, wish I had done it 3 years ago. The main reason not to move was that I use ESRI's ArcMap software on a daily basis. Was it really sensible to move to a Mac with a windows based package. In short yes. The Mac Book Pro Retina is blistering fast. When I switch on in the morning (15 seconds to boot up) I load up Parallels and ArcMap. During the working day I can swop quickly between Mac and Windows. Best of both worlds. Parallels so far has been 100% reliable and the one call to their help desk was resolved in a few minutes. Great product.

    Performs Flawlessly. I Love It!

    • Written by from Vero Beach

I found it to be easy to set up, easy to use and fairly priced. Seamless desktop integration with no performance hit. It truly does provide a PC on the Mac desktop, allowing Windows programs to run as though they were native to the Mac. I run Quicken 2012 on Parallels, for example, and it performs flawlessly, including all the usual download operations, etc. It's a "wow" piece of software. I love it.

    Parallels is awesome...

    • Written by from Marlton

I went from Parallels to VMWare Fusion and back to Parallels and I'll never go back. Parallels is the clear choice if you want to run a Windows OS/application on your Mac.

    The best of both worlds

    • Written by from Saucier

I switched to a MAC but still needed to run windows for my sewing and embroidery programs. Was tired of having 2 computers, so did some research on Parallels. I was skeptical so I did the free trial and ended up purchasing before the trial period was up. Runs all my windows based programs and seamlessly switches between MAC programs and Windows programs. It makes me love my MAC even more!

    Loving parallels 8

    • Written by from Prior Lake

As a computer consultant, I need to work with all versions of windows, and Linux and Mac. My main computers have always been PC's until two years ago when I bought a Mac. The iMac was my choice because I could run windows and Linux along with the Mac OS, and I could have almost four computers for about the price of one iMac. I reviewed VMware and parallels, and chose parallels for its simplicity of installation, its seamless integration (convergence) and balanced sharing of overall system resources.
I use my "windows in a Mac" every day.

    TWO DESKTOPS/OS IN ONE

    • Written by from Novato

I REALLY LIKE PARALLELS BECAUSE IT PROVIDES THE BEST OF TWO WORLDS, A MAC 10.6 OS, WITH A VERY RELIABLE WINDOWS VISTA (MUCH EASIER TO RUN) ON A MACPRO 2.33 GHZ CORE DUO.
THE ONLY DRAWBACK I HAVE IS NOT WITH PARALLELS BUT WITH MY COMPUTER. IF I HAD MORE RAM (3 OPERATING IN MAC, 1 IN WINDOWS AT PRESENT) PARALLELS WOULD RUN A LOT MORE QUICKLY. EVENTUALLY I WILL BUY ANOTHER MACPRO WITH A MINIMUM OF 4 GIGS RAM (WOULD PREFER 8), I THINK I WOULD HAVE A LOT MORE SPEED WITH BOTH OS RUNNING AT THE SAME TIME. THE INTEGRATION IS FLAWLESS, BUT, AS ALL MAC USERS KNOW, THE INFRASTRUCTURE OF WINDOWS WILL NEVER EVER BE AS FAST AS THAT OF THE MAC.

    Parallels is pretty amazing

    • Written by from OCEANSIDE

I was skeptical about how well windows on mac would work, but Parallels really showed that it's not only practical, but desirable to do. Now I can run my pc apps and mac apps simultaneously on one machine, easily exchange files, etc. Performance is good (I have a quadcore mac). Highly recommended.
