Have really enjoyed Parallels 8 compared to the last version we had. User friendly which is the key.

Mountain Lion and Win8 integration great

    • Written by from Newington

I love the way Windows 8 notifications are wrapped into Mountain Lion notifications. The coherence between the two latest OSs is really tight.

    Seamless integration

Very nice product. I'm using for about 4 months in Mountain Lion, running Windows 7 and Ubuntu and no issues observed.
I'm very satisfied as it was just install and use, without the needs to dig into Internet to solve some local problem, like many other products on the web.
    Congratulations to Parallels development team!

    Loving parallels 8

    • Written by from Prior Lake

As a computer consultant, I need to work with all versions of windows, and Linux and Mac. My main computers have always been PC's until two years ago when I bought a Mac. The iMac was my choice because I could run windows and Linux along with the Mac OS, and I could have almost four computers for about the price of one iMac. I reviewed VMware and parallels, and chose parallels for its simplicity of installation, its seamless integration (convergence) and balanced sharing of overall system resources.
I use my "windows in a Mac" every day.

It's like you have another computer inside. Super easy instalation, zero problems, just follow the installation process and it's working!
It really worth that price. If you are a developer it's a must!!!

Running Delorme Topo North America V9 and V10 on a MBP

I don't want to run boot camp, so this is the best option for me to run the main windows program I use pretty much daily. It works fine. Although I don't see much difference between Parallels Desktop 8 from the previous Parallels Desktop 7.

Running some very old software on a win7 parallels vm, and even when it comes to accessing hardware, it runs very smoothly indeed. Playing very nicely with the host mac too.

This product is so good I'll never buy another Windows PC again. The emulation is very good and I haven't found anything that doesn't work correctly.

    Excellent Product

I needed some way to run Windows applications for embroidery software for my wife and considered buying a cheap PC. However, after reading about and talking with an Apple expert, I selected Parallels to run on my MacBook Pro. It has performed flawlessly and runs concurrently with my OS applications. It is especially nice to be able to drag and drop files from OS over into the Windows to be used in the Windows apps I run.

New Mac user loves Parallels Desktop 8

    • Written by from Rockaway

As a new Mac user I was happy to see that Parallels Desktop 8 runs Windows and its programs side by side with Mac OS X. Installation of Parallels Desktop 8 and Windows 8 Pro was simple and without any problems. I selected Windows 8 Pro (full version) because it was less expensive than any prior Windows version. The main Windows programs I run on my Mac are Quicken 2013 and Microsoft Outlook 2007 (It is more than strange that Microsoft Outlook 2007 for Windows is fully functional with iCloud under Windows yet Outlook for Mac, in Office Mac 2011, cannot use Contacts and Calendar from the iCloud.)
During installations of some programs in Windows 8, installation box (window) was distorted hiding some info, installation options and/or buttons. Perhaps changing the screen size or using different text size in Windows would fix this. At the time I used the tab key to reach (with luck) appropriate hidden buttons to compete the installation.

Parallels Desktop 8 for Mac is an outstanding program that deserves top rating.

A perfect bridge for Mac mountain lion and Win8 and Win7

    • Written by from Songpa-gu

I use an iMac and a Macbook pro for personal publishing and etc.
Every day I switch back and forth from Mac OS and to Win8 and sometimes to Win7.
Since some of the local sites are still more smooth with Win7 yet.
By upgrading to Parallels8 for Mac, I even can't find that I'm using a different OS at the same time. It sure is a perfect bridge and a fast, accurate program.

    Seems great so far

    • Written by from Spruce Grove

New to Mac. Long time Windows user. Installation was painless. No hiccups on my new Mac. Primary reason to use product was the integration of Quicken (CDN version). Pretty expensive work-around to use Quicken. Had to buy full version of Windows 7, then Parallels 8. Pretty disappointed with Quicken but Parallels works great. Seamless integration with Mac. Love the new Mac. Parallels works great. Highly recommend it.

Excellent. Just as described. I've been told it's better than the competition by those who have used my macbook pro, even briefly. Love love love it.
