    Meh...they're ok

I tried these out today and was not blown away. While they do sound good, I don't think they sound as good as some others brands I've tried in the $99.00 - $199.00 price range.

They are bright and loud but I think the bass is a little low (at least for my liking). The highs can be a bit piercing at times too. At lower volmes, these don't perform as well. The sweet spot on the volume seems to be around 65% -70%. The cable is not as much of a hassle as others have posted. However, I agree that my ears started to feel a little sore after wearing these for 45 minutes. I also got the sensation they were falling out, when in reality they weren't.

Lots of extra ear cushions and extra cable is a nice feature. Nice packaging too. BUT, I think thats where the money went on these.

The perfect compliment to my Spirit Ones

I currently use Focal Spirit One's as my main headphones. I love them, they are the best piece of technology I have every put near my ears. That said, they are not practical if I am laying in bed listening to music etc since they are cumbersome. That led me to weeks of trying different models of IEM's to find something that was comfortable, but also wasn't a let down compared to the Spirit Ones. The UE900's are exactly what I was after, and I'm very happy. The cost is high, and maybe you could spend half as much to get close to these, but I have no regrets. The sound is very neutral, not bass heavy, very balanced. The sound stage is wide and full, they don't sound like ear buds, more like real headphones. I listen to every kind of music, classical, rock, top 40, dance, metal, country, and they've been great for everything. Tried SE535's, IE80's, XBA4-4's, MIE2i, X10i's and a few others. I knew within 3 or 4 songs that the UE900's were the ones.

Pros: great sound, comfortable (once you figure out the memory wire), tons of extra tips in all sizes and materials, removable cables (and you get 2)

Cons: expensive, not bass heavy if that's what you are after, could live without the memory wire, read that they tend to get scratched up pretty easy

The best thing I have ever had in my head

Except my brain. I have had the triplefi 10's, various shure buds, the new 600vi's, etymotic and a bunch of others. These are hands down the best things ever. I know they are crazy expensive, but the way I justified the cost was, well, I use them every day, for hours and hours a day. If you haven't tried multiple driver buds, give these a go. You will love them for years.

Ever since I purchased a pair of customer Ultimate Ears UE 18 earphones a couple of years back, I have been struggling to find a pair of backup earphones that matches the sound quality and comfort of my customs. Firstly the 6 drivers in my UE 18s are not going to be matched, and as far as comfort is concerned, nothing is going to beat the custom molded shell to my ears.
I had purchased, and subsequently returned top of the line $400 Westone universal fit IEM earphones, all the way up to the pair of $500 Shure IEMs...and everything in between. All, eventually returned or given away. These, however, were done right. UE put the same drivers they use for their customs into a neat little universal fit package. The sound is balanced, and sharp. The bass response is good, but not great. But this one is definitely a keeper.
They've stuck with the replaceable cable thing, which is awesome. Cables are always the reason earphones a most commonly rendered dead. So by being able to replace them, you'll be able to keep a pair of earphones longer, especially if they cost a bit.
The cables with the UE 900s are good. I ran in them no problem. The only thing I wasn't too keen on was the swivel. But it's still good, and stays in place.

Well played UE, now I have a pair of headphones I'll be happy with when I have to send my customs in for a servicing.

    New Flagship iem from UE

    • Written by from Vancouver

I previously owned UE triple-fi 10pro which was ue's old flagship iem.

Just got them today and this ue900 has a lot of improvement.

First thing is isolation. Tf10 has medium level isolation comparing to

    Shure’s or Westone iem

However Ue900 now provides a way better isolation than tf10.

Second it is so much comfortable compares to tf10.

I had no issue with wearing my Tf10 but

with ue900 I can only notice I am wearing headphone when I touch my ears.

Third is the midrange. Tf10 has more distance on vocal and some midrange

instrument yet ue900 brought those distanced midrange in to your ears.

It is full, rich and vivid.

The last is bass. Tf10 has Mid-bass boosted rather than sub-bass which makes sound a

little boomy. However ue900 has linier response between Sub-bass and Mid-bass which

makes bass deeper, punchier and tighter.

One thing that I was wanted more was treble like tf10 but it's not mean that ue900 is

lacking of treble. It is just my taste of music.

By looking at ue900, I can tell Logitech ue has put so much effort and time to replace their

old flagship iem and it seems like they did great job.

    Incredible

I've never written a product review before, ever. These headphones, once you take the time to (a) re-download your music at higher quality levels and (b) fit them on your ears [takes some getting used to] are simply unreal. You will experience your music on a whole different level.

I live in New York City so these are the equivalent of someone's car stereo in terms of how much I use them. If I lived in a city where I wasn't listening to music in headphones as often, I'd opt for the UE 600's ($119). That being said, if you are very serious about listening to incredible music very often, these are worth it.

Note I've owned Bose headphones, Dre Beats (both in ear and their highest end over ear model), Klipsch, Monster DNA - you name it. These are by far, the best sounding period.

    Mind-blowing

These were designed as backup buds for professional musicians. Over 80% of touring musicians use Ultimate Ear buds (which are custom molded and tuned to their ears). When those break - they use these.

These have 4 armatures which are essentially 4 separate speakers. This allows for amazing lows, mids, and highs.

The sound quality is best in class for the pricepoint. These are worth every penny. You will never need another pair until a long time from now these break!

    Equal, great quality!

4 units made a progress to the sound quality compared to TF10, especially on the LF side. Compared with SE535 or W4, it is more equal on kinds of aspect such as human voice, classical or pop rhythm. Male voice is great, sound field strong, Female voice is delicate and thin. Additionally, the looks is soooo swag!

    Good In-Ears...

These are my very first pair of In-Ear monitors coming from using factory headphones and I can say that there are major positive differences in sound overall. Be that as it may that these are my first pair. I do find that if worn for long periods of time the inner muscle part of your ear starts to get tired and therfore causing discomfort. I found that I can only go for a little over 45 minutes of use before I have to take them out. -_- Other than that, I am satisfied with the sound playback.

    Too bad about the UE900

    • Written by from Philadelphia

As an experienced in-ear headphone user, I am disappointed in the UE900. I really found the sound signature detailed, warm (but not too warm) and almost balanced (slight V-shaped, but not to its detriment). However, from a design POV, I can't recommend it. For one thing, I absolutely detest the memory wire on the cable. No matter how much I fooled with it, I could not get it to stay in the crease of the backside of my ear. That was annoying enough, really. They just felt like they were not secured.

In a related issue, I am not a fan of the swivel cable connection (sent back the Shure SE425s in part for the same reason). Why anyone finds it necessary to design a $400 IEM with the swivel cable is beyond me. I experienced some early issues with sound cutting out, but even when I finally figured it out, I was not happy with the swivel idea. Not only is it another potential moving part to go bad, it also eliminates the option of a different cable (although UE cables are not standard, even the two-pin ones).

Also, as the other reviewer noted, the insertion depth is pretty shallow, which is comfy, but also gives one the feeling that the tips are sliding out of your ears the longer you wear them. It's sort of illusory, but being used to customs (JH5s). When you combine the shallow insertion with the memory wire, they just don't feel snug on your ears/head.

When on the go, I like a snug over the ear cable, good isolation and most of all, an IEM that is not going to keep distracting you from the music, which is how I found the UE900s. A real shame, because they do sound very good.

    pretty nice....

Just got these and so far pretty impressed..... sound is awesome, comparing to my sony BT775 the base is nice and feels like you are in a big room. very happy with the sound. The fit is great, had them in a few hours and still very comfortable.

couple nitpicking things..... the memory wire is pretty weak, doesn't keep its shape as well as I would like. Also they don't go deep enough into the ear as I would like, but I think that is just personal preference.

easily the best universal IEM i have owned. still like my custom Unique Melody Miracles better, but they are on a beach somewhere in the philipines :-(
