    Jaybird Freedom Sprint = Awesome!

    • Written by from Lake Oswego

I had not purchased bluetooth headphone prior to this pair and I was somewhat skeptical based on the firsthand experiences of friends in the past and reviews I had read. I decided to take a gamble knowing that I had an extremely lenient return policy at my disposal if they didn't work out. I have used them twice since picking them up, once for music while running outdoors and once for a baseball game while on a treadmill.

Some tidbits that ran contrary to some of the reviews and made me fall in love with these headphones:
-I was listening to the baseball game over WiFi and left the room for a moment forgetting that my phone wasn't in my pocket. I walked through a set of glass doors about 6 feet from my phone, then another set about 15-20 feet from there before I had the slightest audio hiccup to remind me that my headphones weren't physically connected to my phone (also a potential downfall).
-I listened to an entire baseball game (a little over 3 hours) without the battery dying.
-The treadmill that I was using had a ledge to my left, but within arms reach and I had no trouble with connectivity.

The general things that I liked that weren't specific to any reviews:
-The over-the-ear hooks. I really prefer the hooks.
-The inserts are soft enough that there was no "ear fatigue."
-When listening to rap, the bass sounded great!!
-The carrying case is very solid and a nice addition.

The only thing that I don't like:
-When hanging behind my head the rubber cable sticks to the back of my neck when I sweat a lot (around the second hour of my run). Easily solved by switching the cable to hang in front...

    1) Great sound quality

    1) Your iPhone MUST be within 3 feet of you (basically, on your person)
    2) You cannot skip through tracks, when attempting to do so, Siri is activated
    3) Charge only lasts for 4.5 hours
    4) Recharging the headphones takes nearly 5 hours (even with a 12v charger)

Overall, I was really hoping for more.

    short life span

    • Written by from New York

I bought the JayBird Freedom in April of 2013 strictly to use while running. I thought the fit was awesome, actually stayed in my ear, even when sweating, and the sound was decent. I was not thrilled with the battery life but since I only used them for running it was not deal breaker for me. However, that said I paid approximately hundred and twenty-nine dollars. Pricey, just to use for running but I felt it was well worth it, since they stayed in my ears and the sound was decent. But right after the year warranty was up , I am talking 13 months in May 2014 they died, that was it never to work again. So there is no review that I can give anyone to encourage them to buy these headphones. Do yourself a favor and purchase something else. I know we live in a disposable world but really 13 months they should at least last 2 years.

    A very disappointed customer.

For about a year they were terrific. Now they take no charge. Very disappointing. I would expect more for $100.

Fitment and general usability is quite good. However, battery has failed for me in just less than 1 year of usage.

    stopped working

I bought these in December 2013 from Apple online and 8 1/2 months later they stopped working. I've tried using the USB slot on several computers to charge them but no luck. For the price I would have expected them to last quite a lot longer.

    Half Marathon Awesome!

    • Written by from Hinesville

I bought these two weeks ago and ran a few short runs (4&5 miles). They worked great. I also workout in the gym and I hate having my phone on my arm or in my pocket. I sat my phone in my gym about 15 feet from me while worked out. I heard every song. I even got a call from the wife. Today I ran a half marathon in the ran with my headphones and iPhone 5s in a waterproof case. No problem and never skipped a beat. My wife even called me a few times to check on me. They fit in my ears great with all the special buds and ear inserts.

Best Sounding Wireless In-Ear Headphones I've tried....

    • Written by from Mississauga

I have tried some Bluetooth headphones/earphones in the past and none really stood out. They were either bad audio quality, heavy, or uncomfortable. After reading some reviews I decided to give these Freedom Sprints a try and I could honestly say they are by far the best BLUETOOTH (I repeat Bluetooth!) earphones I have owned. The sound quality is crisp without any distortion. It takes a bit of trial and error for comfort but once you find the proper the combination of ear cushion and ear tip with the proper angle they are great. Haven't had any discomfort once I found mine and they have never fallen out on their own. I do not know if it was their intent when designing the product, but these earphones are pretty good at noise cancelling. Might be something to note if you are an outdoor runner and have to be more aware of your surroundings. Doesn't bother me I actually like the feature, but then again I am not a hardcore runner I only do it to get some cardio in.

I was expecting to lose some functionality once I paired with my HTC One, but it actually worked great. Unlike my Beats headphones which only play and pause, all the features so far seem to work seamlessly between my Apple and Android products.

Things I do dislike about them.... 1. Battery life is about 3 hours as stated, wish it was longer. So if you are looking for a longer lasting charge I suggest you opt for the X Premiums which are 8 hours. There are a few times where they have died on me and left with nothing. 2. Microphone for telephones calls could be better. The mic is located in the right ear-piece. I have found myself numerous times taking out the ear piece, bringing it closer to my mouth so that the person on the other end could hear me more clearly.

Horrible sound probably going to return

    • Written by from wichita

Don't bother buying these if your looking for something that sounds good in the smallest little bit, even when you mess with the equalizer. They sound like they are blown out of the box I'm going to contact the manufacture before returning to see if maybe something is wrong but from what I can tell they are fine. The headphones that come with your iPhone/ iPod are 10x better than these I only got them for working out because the apple ones fall out a lot. The only reason I gave them 2 stars is because they seem to be built well themselves but even the case is cheap some people try to tell you that its nice but its not.

    Left earbud lost significant sound

    • Written by from Parker

I bought these back in February 2014. I wear them while working out and really liked the wireless capabilities of the headphones. Now that I have had them for roughly 7 months, my satisfaction has dropped considerably. I no longer have sound coming out of both earbuds! The right one functions perfectly, but the left one is a very low whisper when I remove the the right bud from my ear. If this is typical, I would not spend the $100 that I did. I have tried several types of earbud (wired) headphones over the years and feel I may have to go back to them? I may entertain trying a set of Bose wireless, but not sure if I can justify the cost.

    Great for working out.

    • Written by from Zionsville

I purchased these earbuds last week to use while running. They are very convienent. To all those that claim the range isn't great: Honestly, how much range do you need? The entire reason I purchased these is so I won't have a cord flopping around and snagging on things while being active. They aren't meant to be used as wireless headphones that you put on and are free to walk away from your device.

I think these are excellent, and work exactly as advertised. They fit comfortably and don't fall out. The sound took my off guard as I was expecting a bit more quality. The "warm bass" as they call it, I don't particularly enjoy, but its a small sacrifice I guess.

Overall, I love and don't regret my purchase.

I love these earphones, it surely doesn't loosen when you go for a jog or anything at all. They are very secure. The only thing I find that I don't like about these earphones are that if they're in your ears long enough, it does start to become uncomfortable. But of course thats a problem with probably all earphones. But other than that, they are surely the best earphones I've ever purchased.

    Sound Quality BAD!

    • Written by from Ann Arbor

Extremely disappointed with a hundred dollar pair of headphones that has awful sound quality. Sound is muddled, lacking in even half decent bass, lacking in decent treble. It's all mid-tones. These are the worst sounding earbuds I've ever used, and I have used the cheap 10 dollar ones from the gas station- and they sound better than these.

Who knows, maybe I got a bad pair...but I plan on returning these. They are horrible.

i have been using these for a couple of weeks now, and i'm impressed so far. They fit well and stay secure, and seem to be able t handle the sweat. I have used them for 4 hours continuously before feeling like i needed to recharge. the sound quality isnt the best, thats why i took one star away. but i have been using them for running and they do the job well, and the controls are good.

    Not sweat proof!

    • Written by from Mountain View

I have gone through 2 sets of these headphones. I use these headphones for the gym/running and tend to sweat a lot. The 1st pair I purchased in 2013, and it lasted me about 7 months before they would not turn on anymore. After several months of sitting in my gym bag unused, I decided to contact JayBird for a replacement pair. The replacements arrived after a couple of weeks, but this 2nd pair only lasted a month before they stopped working. They can no longer hold a charge and spontaneously shut off in the middle of a short workout. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THESE HEADPHONES.
