    Great product

Easy to pair Smith all my AirPlay devices. Great sound, even as a "sound bar" for my TV.

    Stopped working

    • Written by from Evanston

After very little use and with constant gentle handling, the Bose Sound Link suddenly stopped working, wouldn't, charge or turn on. Bose Customer Service diagnosed the problem over the phone: it's the battery. They were sure this would do it. They shipped me a new battery (under warranty) but this does not solve the problem. The next step will be for me to send them the whole unit at the cost to me of about $15. What they send me back may, of course, also not work. I am not impressed.

    Connectivity

    • Written by from Salford

I've had the same connectivity issues - easy to set up, and worked perfectly first time. But in spite of re-installing, I haven't managed to connect again, on any device. Very disappointing and frustrating. I wouldn't recommend this product until this basic issue - it's main selling point - is sorted out. A expensive waste of money so far.

    Amazing

    • Written by from Mumbai

This lil piece of equipment is perfect.. The issues mentioned in the other reviews can mostly b resolved by simply restarting itunes . The connectivity is brilliant and so is the sound. Incase of any connectivity issues, Bose has provided an aux port for added convenience. Just wish the battery pack was included in the price as well.

    Great Sound!

    • Written by from SPRING

Sorry to read the bad reviews. The sound link works seamlessly on all my Apple products (iMac, iPad, iPhone) We have two wireless networks in our house and as long as my iPad etc. are connected to the correct network ( the same one that the SoundLink is on) it works fine!

    Rip-off

    • Written by from Guadalupe

It's incredible that they sell this kind of stuff.
It never stays configurated and after using it one time, the link between computer and sound system is broken. It doesn't show up again in your computer and you need to configure it again by installing it AGAIN. It's a total time and money waste.

Doesn't work with multiple wireless networks

    • Written by from Tunbridge Wells

I have 3 wireless networks in the house. If any of my apple devices are connected to a different wireless access point airplay is visible. If they are connected to the same wireless access point that the Bose is on then the airplay button is not visible.

It can sometimes be tricked by switching between networks while having the music app open when but this isn't reliable and eventually loses it at some point.

All in all, whilst the sound is wonderful, it doesn't do what it says on the box.

I suspect the fault lies with iOS 6.

IT WORKED FOR ABOUT 2 HOURS

    • Written by from Sydney

We got the Soundlink Air forxmas. Set up instructions were clear an process was simple. It worked for about 2 hours. Then the drop out problems started. Now we cannot even establish the wifi link, iTunes cannot select the Soundlink Air device and the AirPlay button is non existent on my iphone 4. First Bose product, also my last. Sorry, but will be returning the product. Very disappointed when you pay a lot of money for something that doesn't deliver.

    Love It

    • Written by from CORTLAND

No issues. I had to upgrade to Mountain Lion OS in order for everything on PC to run through speakers. Previous OS would only allow music from my i-mac. After upgrade, life is good. Easy install. Bose help line was great; got right through and my video sound issue was resolved with the upgrade. Very easy.

    Very good sound... Also frustrating.

    • Written by from Canada

I've never had to turn this thing past about 3/4 of the volume, and the sound quality is reflected in the price; it is superb.

I want to write this speaker the best review possible, but something is holding me back. The setup, although very simple (takes a few mins) has some faults. After setting it up, it pays music perfectly. But after turning it off, the speaker cannot seem to find the wifi when I want to use it again. I have to go through the whole setup process again. Hopefully, Bose can give an update to fix this problem, considering that it came onto the market fairly recently.

The speaker is great, but always having to re-establish the wifi connection is very frustrating.

Same size as SoundDock Portable and uses same battery too

    • Written by from Baltimore

The setup was easy, but you should know is only finds 2.4 GHz bands. Lucky, I have a dual band router. I have AirPlay devices on the 5GHz band and set this up on 2.4GHz band and thought I would have problems, but I don't
AirPlay convenience and quality trump BluTooth.
The is the same size and sound as my SoundDock Portable, essentially the same speaker.
The sound is amazing and is typical Bose (ever so slightly bass rich).
It uses the same battery as the SoundDock. If you don't have a SoundDock Portable, you can buy the battery for $80 from Bose to make this portable.

Jury is still out, but overall, pretty good.

    • Written by from Brampton

I replaced a portable sound dock with this one after the docking pins on the portable were damaged. This wifi version works pretty good. The sound is very good (good highs, good lows, clean, crisp sound). I've had no trouble streaming the music in sync with this unit, another wireless connection and the iMac at the same time, over the wifi in my house. My only frustration has been that sometimes, less than 10% of the time, the wifi connection breaks up - sounding like a radio station that's not quite tuned. I'm not sure why because it happens for no apparent reason and that's a little disappointing. But, it hasn't been bad enough to complain or take it back and I love that it works wirelessly and can be controlled from my ipod, iMac and iPhone.

itune for PC trouble with AirPort

    • Written by from boulogne

I bought the bose SoundLink and it works fine with my iphone.
Try it also with my computer (PC not apple), and for some reason, the music has microCut...
I try to configure Itune but there is nothing for it.
I've downloaded Airfoil and, it is better, I don't have micro cut and the sound is great but i cannot use the remote control, what a mess....

Anyone had the problem and solved it ?

Cannot connect to my TimeCapsule with WPA2 Personal security

    • Written by from San Francisco

My wireless access point is an Apple TimeCapsule (version 7.6.1). This device would not connect to my WPA2 Personal secure network. I was only able to connect to my guest network with no security. That doesn't work for me since all my music is on my secure network. Had to return this device and am looking for an alternative.

    Love the versatility

    • Written by from Miamisburg

The versatilty of this product is awesome.

First of all, Bose must have updated the software from the first units, because the setup was a breeze, and I've connected to a variety of devices easily and really fast.

I can connect to iTunes on my son's Macbook Pro, and easily connect to iTunes on my Windows laptop from work. In addition, I can stream iHeart Radio from my iPhone 4S directly, without having a wifi present.

The Bose sound from a small package is always something that you can count on, and the fit/finish of the product is great.

    Connectivity issues

    • Written by from Pemberton

The sound from this speaker was great...when it worked.

Didn't really get to experience it to its fullest as the airplay connection would randomly start crackling or the sound would disappear then reappear again, in and out for 30 seconds at a time, often throwing me off wifi and causing me to have to reboot my router.

Bose support had a long list of 'troubleshooting' tips to try and I spent 1.5 hrs on the phone to them trying to sort it out, changing ports on the router and so on, but to no avail. Had to return it :(

    Could Not Connect

    • Written by from Burlington

I was excited when I saw this new product which would give me wireless sound in the room I wanted. When I tried to download the software onto my mac, it would not accept my network password so downloading was not possible. It would download only when I removed my password, but that would leave my network vulnerable. Maybe i just got a bad unit, either way it's going back for a refund today.

Sounds great, but can't play on multiple speakers

    • Written by from Washington

Bose sound is definitely one of the strongest for small speakers. This product touts it's ability to play in multiple rooms at once, but neither iTunes nor the iPhone (iOS 6) are capable of streaming music to multiple WiFi speakers at once without a third party device.
