    Could Not Connect

    • Written by from Burlington

I was excited when I saw this new product which would give me wireless sound in the room I wanted. When I tried to download the software onto my mac, it would not accept my network password so downloading was not possible. It would download only when I removed my password, but that would leave my network vulnerable. Maybe i just got a bad unit, either way it's going back for a refund today.

    Connectivity issues

    • Written by from Pemberton

The sound from this speaker was great...when it worked.

Didn't really get to experience it to its fullest as the airplay connection would randomly start crackling or the sound would disappear then reappear again, in and out for 30 seconds at a time, often throwing me off wifi and causing me to have to reboot my router.

Bose support had a long list of 'troubleshooting' tips to try and I spent 1.5 hrs on the phone to them trying to sort it out, changing ports on the router and so on, but to no avail. Had to return it :(

    Very disapointing...Intermitent conection

    • Written by from new york

Absolutely disapointing, as the conection via air play which was the most important issue in my decision of buying the product, simply doesn't wor properly.
I have a network whith an airport extreme amplified by an aiport express.
When trying to use the bose soundlink airplay whith mac os, iphone or ipad, the conection drops intermitently for few seconds, enervating anyone that would like to hear some music.
The result is that it's only used whtih an Ipod through a cable conection.
I strongly do not recomend the equipment.

Sound skips, crackles, drops, and frequently dies

    • Written by from SAN JOSE

The first one we bought was so frustrating to set up. Finally, Bose customer service said it was broken and to exchange it at the Apple store. The next one installed easily, but music tended to skip and drop out. We've had it a little over a year. The problem got steadily worse as months went by until it was unusable. I spent hundreds of minutes on the phone with Bose customer service and my wireless provider. We tried moving it to different locations in the house to avoid interference from computers and appliances. We tried using different wifi channels. I got a new modem/router from xfinity, had two xfinity technicians out checking things, and returned the speaker to the factory for inspection and repairs. At this point, it plays music, but frequent skips and drops are a fact of life. It also just spontaneously stops playing and the playlist needs to be restarted every hour or more often at times. Frequently, you have to restart the iPhone or iPad for it to find the Bose speaker.

So, I tried really hard. Bose says they've tried everything in their play book. Xfinity says they've tried everything. But it isn't even close to satisfactory.

The sound quality is a moot point when it's such a pain in the...
