I just started to use this product and I love it! I love how I can be in a different room and print something from my computer, it's absolutely amazing! And I love that it's in color!

    Like the printer however...

    • Written by from Brooklyn

I like the fact that I can print straight from my iPhone and Laptop however that's about all ! It is very noisy and the ink runs out extremely fast. Once it runs out of ink, it will not print in any other color even when you change the settings and the color of the font in the document. I purchased new Epson black ink cartridges from Staples and since I replaced them I can print but the quality is awful and the text is gray. I have to figure out what is going on with the ink and I am really frustrated because I was enjoying this printer up until I started having issues with the ink. Was easy to set up and has no cords.

    AMAZING PRINTER !!!

    • Written by from Lewisville

I bought this printer from my local Apple Store. No order necessary, they had it in stock.
Brought it home, unpacked it, plugged it into the wall. No cables of any kind needed, just plugged the power cord into the wall. Followed the easy on-screen directions to connect it to my home WiFi. It immediately found my WiFi network ... all I had to do was enter my WiFi password. I held my breath and grabbed my iPhone 4S ... boom, printed with no problem. Then I grabbed my iPad 4 ... printed with no problem. Next, I grabbed my MacBook Air ... and I printed immediately!
Can I just say the AirPrint feature is AMAZING and so is this printer. Thank you Apple, thank you Epson.
Absolutely the best $99 I've ever spent. Life is too short to mess with any other printer.

    Wireless. Period.

    • Written by from Charlotte

In terms of its print and scan functions, the Epson XP-400 is fairly basic. There is no duplex printing or document feeder, for example, so if you regularly need to scan or copy multipage documents, look elsewhere.

What is exceptional is how easy it is to install and use, and the number of wireless printing and scanning options it offers for the price. It is possible to install the XP-400 and use all its features without ever connecting it to a PC or Mac via a USB cable. In fact, it's possible to install and use it without a PC or Mac at all, so it would be a great fit for those who use iPads exclusively. Using just my iPad, I installed my printer on my home Wi-Fi network, registered it with Google Cloud Print, registered it with Epson Connect services, and even updated the printer firmware.

I can now print from my iPad and MacBook wirelessly in my apartment. I can print to it from the desktop PC I use at my job, more than thirty miles away. I can scan to Dropbox, Google Drive, or email, and do all this with a machine whose list price is just a hundred bucks, and that took me only a little more time to set up than it did to unpack it.

    Cool.

    Good when working

    • Written by from Durango

I like this printer. It does all you'll need for a home printer. Display screen and instructions for set up of printer, wi-fi is simple and easy to follow.
The only issue I had is the printer died and would not print readable text after 5 months of low to moderate use. But troubleshooting on the phone w/Epson, they determined it died and sent me a brand new one that was also very easy to set up and use. Dont you just love companies who stand by their product and do the right thing for their customers. I'm pleased with Epson customer service and the new replacement printer. I will continue to use Epson product because of their customer friendly policies and no hassles.

    Happy To Have One!

    • Written by from ALHAMBRA

I have a WiFi printer from years ago but it isn't compatible with any of my Apple products; AirPrint makes it very convenient to print wirelessly and it works with PC's as well. This printer is very small (hence the name), so small I can fit it under my night stand. It's also very quiet and prints fast. This printer is a "Small ALL-IN-ONE" I think the only thing it doesn't do that my old WiFi printer did was be able to send faxes. I think this printer is perfect for the home and students (not for Businesses though). I'd recommend this to others

    This Printer is Horrible

    • Written by from Vancouver

I've had this printer for about a month and I already have problems with it.

    1) Although I can always print wirelessly, the wireless scan feature will never work. It always says "Cannot detect computer".

    2) Even though I installed them correctly and only removed the yellow tape (as instructed), the ink cartridges leaked and now I have to replace black and magenta after hardly using the printer.

    3) It will not load paper!!!!!
Now, it will not load paper. I've tried everything and it still won't work. Obviously, this ia a huge problem because I can't use the printer at all.

    4) Their website provides very little support and I cannot find a solution on how to fix my basically brand new printer.

AND I CANT SET IT UP! My iPhone & iPad cannot find the printer when i try to use AirPrint... i thought AirPrint would work out-of-the-box… i shouldn't have to download separate apps just to print, especially when the box states AirPrint is supported… but apparently not. someone help me, please.

It worked when set up now no AirPrint.

    • Written by from Carlisle

I bought this for my mother to use AirPrint on her iPad. She didn't want it so I have been using it. I want to AirPrint from my and my wifes iPhones. Airprint worked great right after I set it up but now a month later I can't AirPrint. I've gone to Espon support and downloaded the update again but still doesn't work.
I use Epson cause they supported apple years ago when HP and other didn't. Now I just wish Apple built the printer cause then it would work.
I also found that you need a computer to do the software updates so my Mother couldn't have installed them as she just has the iPad.
When are these compnaies going to figure the future out and get away form needing a 'computer' to facilitate updates.
    Grrrrr

    XP-400

    • Written by from San Antonio

I use it for 2010 MacBook Pro (Mountain Lion) and iPhone 4. Works great. I'm not one for reading instructions thoroughly. Here's steps I took to have it work on USB cable and WIFI/Air:
    1. Unpacked, loaded paper and set up WIFI on printer. Very easy to do.
    2. What little I read, it said keep USB cable link until program said to remove it. So I did that. Before inserting CD, I checked to make sure it had OS 10.8 listed. It did.
    3. Ran program and got it to work whilst USB cable connected by not wirelessly.
    4. I ran program a second time (no need to remove program from computer) and followed instructions for setting it up like new, except this time I didn;t use cable.
    5. Under "Preferences/Print Scan" I have 2 of the XP-400. I specified the wireless entry as the default printer.
Prints fast, reasonable color for a small inexpensive printer. Anyone want a cheap old HP Photosmart? Was a freebie from Apple and got tired of having to fiddle with it. Had to download special software to reinstall it for OS 10.8 and problems continued. Love this XP-400- simple to install and works flawlessly.

I love this printer. Use it for my iPhone, Ipad and my IBM laptop. It has made life so much easier for me. Use to have to go upstairs and get my printer going, after my 5 year old ocmputer got started. Now I print from my bedroom, kitchen or wherever I am in the house., I LOVE IT>

    So Far, I Like It

    • Written by from Denver

I just set up this printer a few days ago. I bought it to use with my IPad. It was very easy to set up and it works with my IPad like a charm. I have a Canon printer which was supposed to have the Air Print feature but I could never get it to work, so I bought this little guy to dedicate to the IPad. My IPad synced up with this printer with no effort at all. I highly recommend this printer for use with mobile devices.

Just bought EPSON 400 Series Printer from the Apple Store. I am not very techy but i most say that the installation of my EPSON was nice and easy which is exactly the way I like it! I was able to connect it to my wireless system in about 5 minutes and didn't have one glitch. The quality of prints is great! I would highly recommend this Printer/Copier/Scanner to anyone!!! Thank you for making it easy...

    Epson Expression Home XP-400

I had a Canon Pixma MP 500 that inexplicably died on me, and whose ink was terribly expensive, and ugly to print. The Epson was cheap, and has great color. I hope it lasts longer than the Canon.
