    Not the greatest!

    • Written by from Cypress

I purchased these in Jan 2013. I liked the quality and the sound. For such an expensive pair they don't include a case or extra battery. Also noticed if looking down, sideways or moving suddenly there was significant distortion. They load up quickly but cannot pair to multiple devices simutaneusly. They are also tight on the head, my ears began sweating, and I needed a break from them after about an hour. I travel frequently anf need a good pair of headphones that are comfortable during flights. On short flights i have not been able to get through a movie on my ipad withou removing the headphones to take a break. i hate to see how they perform with flights longer than 5 hours. on a 3 hour flight i switched to earbuds to get a break. They are difficult to lay down and listen to music since they are quite bulky. I took them back to the store in May 2013 and looking for a good pair of noise canceling headphones with great quality. I have the Bose QC15 and looking for something to outperform them on longer flights.

    Awesome Cans

    • Written by from Chicago

    LOVE:
Touch controls...volume and direction are on the right ear can
Bluetooth...Has a backup cable when batteries run down. Bluetooth is better than what I've had in BEATS or PUMA BT headsets
Noise cancelling works with 4 onboard microphones.
Can tell when your cans are on your head and when their on your shoulders - great for when someone stops you for directions - pauses your activity

    HATE:
The cans are great for phone usage but when your using the cable there is no microphone support or volume control when plugged in. You have to go to the Parrot app on your iPhone to control your sound and chat. BAD IDEA.

    just buy them

    • Written by from Naperville

OK i devoted months to reading online reviews of headphones to see what was best. Online, the Parrot Ziks scored well in the "wow" factor, but less on sound quality. I ended up buying a set of PSB M4U 2 cans which are corded and they are great. Great sound stage. I'm not sorry i bought them. But going to the Apple Store last week to buy another Cinema Display and seeing the Ziks in stock reminded me I had never gotten over my love affair with them...so i bought the Ziks. If i had to do it all over again, i would buy the Ziks right away. No problems with bluetooth. Sound is great. Portability with no cords is unbelievably cool at the office, commuting. And the wow factor! I use them every day. The ANC is stellar on the Ziks. Try putting them on your head with them turned off, then turn them on and hear the silence...it's like you're working from outer space. Just buy them! You won't regret.

If these were 200.00 they would be acceptable.

The headphones are pretty great, the fit the app and the noise cancellation. The only complaint I have is the sound, which is after all why you buy headphones. You have to individually adjust volume on the headphone and on the iOS device. The max volume isn't loud and the bass distorts before even adjusting the EQ. It thumps and makes listening uncomfortable. I am not a bass fanatic but I do enjoy listening to bass without it sounding like the speaker is going to explode. I was pretty disappointed as I looked forward to buying these for a while but I think I am going to stick to my P5's until I pull the trigger on high end Sony bluetooth headphones.

They are awesome. The sound is fantastic. The app works great. They are very durable. I travel every week... and they stand up to travel very well. The noise canceling is comparable, if not better than Bose. The sound, using my iPhone 5 is exceptional. I hear notes, I have never heard. The coolest thing is the touch control on the right ear... so you can do volume, or control your music. Cant stand Bose anymore, after using these. A lot of people are curious, when they see them... not too many people have ever seen them. They are a little bulky... but they have to be, in order to be to be around ear. They are not cheap... but they are worth it.

    Best Wireless Headphones I've Found

The sound quality is excellent. They paired to my iPhone quickly and have never failed to link up. The noise cancelation is wonderful. Quite simply the best headphones I have ever owned. I purchased them in Nov. 2012. They are a bit on the heavy side, so if a lighter version becomes available, I will buy them in a heartbeat. I listen to music mostly, but when the phone rings, it is easy to answer or ignore. The mic works very well in phone conversations. Thank you. -- jwp in Topeka

I have barely taken my Zik headphones off since I got them. I LOVE my Ziks. They have an amazing sound that can be customized with the equalizer on the iPhone app. I love the multi-touch controls. They fold flat so I can easily pack them for air travel. They are super comfortable. Parrot has thought of everything. I have recommended them to everyone.

Great looking headphones. Great concept w Bluetooth and touch controls. I wanted to love them but inconsistency w Bluetooth connection and constant pausing and restarting music is very disappointing. Will be returning soon.

    Like-None-Other

These headphones are spring-loaded in the headband, rendering the device virtually weightless... the sound quality rivals that of the any high quality headphones, and the overall compact design and technology is a great addition. Without any effort there is immediate recognition by bystanders--of whom you don't recognize until physical contact is made because of its outstanding noise cancellation, this makes the Parrot Zik indeed like-none-other.

I have owned the headphones about three weeks, they are stylish, very comfortable and work well my my iPad, iPhone 5 and MacBook. The free software gives you amazing control for any type of music you may wish to enjoy. The noise cancelling is awesome !. Used them in flight for the first time yesterday...wow ....amazing ! fell asleep almost immediately. I was told that Bose might just clinch it for sound quality but I am more happy with this product. Superb.

If you want a pair of headphones with great design, the ZIK will be the one you are looking for.

    BUT

If you want at least good quality, well i will suggest you to look for something else.

the bass is decent, but it just not powerful enough to deliver just a little bit more when you are pushing.
the high range is enough aswell, but the sound "breaks" like glasses when you turn up the volume.

mid range is quite good, nothing to complain yet.

I currently own this ZIK, B&W p5, and the sennheiser Momentum, sound quality wise the zik is the least excellent. or should i even use the word excellent ?

    Best Wireless Noise Canceling Headphones

PLEASE take those who criticize these headphones as having poor quality sound, a poor bluetooth connection, or hard to use with a truckload of salt. I have owned my Ziks for about a month and they are truly excellent in almost every way. Where else are you going to get beautifully designed, well made, high quality headphones with all the features the Zik provides? And you can control them and adapt the sound quality from your iPhone or iPad. How cool is that! The only slight drawback I would cite is that the touch feature is indeed easily activated by almost any contact, with pillow, collar, etc. It takes some getting used to, but is not a big deal. If you are willing to shell out $400 for a set of noise canceling, bluetooth headphones, these are the ones to get. And read the technical reviews online. They are overall VERY positive.

    Best I Have Ever Used

The Parrot Zik Wireless Headphones are fantastic! I have been searching for headphones for a month prior to buying these ones. At first I tried out the Wireless Beats, but did not enjoy the controls, the cheap sound, and the faulty bluetooth connection. I returned them and purchased the Parrot Ziks. The sound was beautiful for the various styles of music that I listen. The Ziks handle wonderfully; classical music, rap, jazz, R&B, and pop, in addition to being wireless! I am very picky when it comes to the quality of my classical music, but these headphones exceeded, and raised my expectations. The free app needs to be noted as very easy, and convenient to use. I have had these headphones for a month now, and I can easily say that they were money well spent. Everything functions perfectly, they look fabulous, and sound crisp. You will not regret purchasing them!

The sound for this price range is greatly lacking, the bluetooth connection is unreliable and the touch controls are overly sensitive. I'm going to buy a pair of Grado's RS1's a little pricier but far better sound. I think tech and cosmetic design came ahead of sound quality with this headphone.

Great design, but the sound doesn't match

Right out of the box, everything seems magical. The design is incredible, the feel is high end, and it seems like you'll be keeping these forever. Every inch of the design from the speakers to the wires, the look is like no other. However, when turned on, it's another story. The sound isn't terrible but it's not great. It lacks the wow factor, in others words, it does not pack a punch. Great headphones, if you're not into high quality sound, but who isn't at $400 a pop. In conclusion, at that price, I expect a lot more. The Bose QC3 is a much better buy.

    Parrot Zik Great

I purchase this head phone as it was one of the first on the market with noise canceling and Bluetooth wireless. I made my purchase from another vendor --not Apple-- as Apple did not feature this product at that time. For anyone complaining about Bluetooth cutouts, this is simply user error. I have not had any issues whatsoever with cutout. If I were to place my iPhone in a pocket with metal foil wrapped around it or perhaps have WiFi or another Bluetooth device radiating a very strong signal between my iPhone and the Parrot Zik, then perhaps I would experience cutout issues. The 'Hall Effect' and the iPhone APP provided by Zik make this wireless Bluetooth noise canceling headset shoulders above the others units that are now on the market. And the headset make a great set for wireless phone calls too. On the downside, the unit weights a bit more than I'd like to have them weigh but this is mostly due to the battery pack. While the battery last quite a long time, perhaps in the future a replacement battery with the same performance but at a lighter weight might be designed. Other than that the quality is great and the comfort of wearing them is quite nice with high quality padding and materials, despite the weight.

Bluetooth cuts out every 30 seconds or so. Sound quality with Bluetooth is not great.
I would expect that for the price the product should work. Battery life is very good.

    Zik Parrot is it!

The negative reviews complain about the performance whilst wired...
wireless is the the reason to buy these!

Love the iPhone app - love the ability to customize my audio space.

Bought a spare battery for longer flights - I'll try out the noise cancelling feature on tomorrow's flight!

I have 2 Bose noise cancelling head sets - and with these Ziks- look ma, no wires!

Try listening to Tracy Chapman's Mountain of Things for a test - customize the bass - wonderful pedal base and sharp highlights.

Don't listen to the complaints about wired performance - that's not the reason to buy in the first place.

These headphones have great design, technology and sound. I compared them to Bose QC 15. Parrot's bluetooth and touch controls make it win over Bose.
Bose QC15 do sound a touch better but it isn't a significant difference.
Wish Parrot included a hard travel case for such a beautiful product.
