    Amazing product!! But.......

Just plain and simple an AMAZING product!

The sound quality is as good as it gets when wireless connected! They are incredibly comfortable! The build quality is just unmatched!! And the wow factor is a sure hit every single time I show these to a friend! ;-) But........

For some reason, and I have now been trying hard for 2 weeks now, I cannot connect these to my PC (Windows 7) at work, where I want to use'em for Skype and just music playing! They work flawlessly with my iMac at home and incredibly straightforward with my iPhone, but for some reason Windows is not an option!!! I have been told by Parrot customer service in an email, that they "can" work (it felt like something they weren't to sure about!!)... but NOWHERE can I find any explanation on how to get them to work with Windows! A REAL disapointment!

I really wanna rate them with not just the 5 stars available here, but 6 stars, since I Honestly enjoy them to bits, but I cannot give them more than 3 before they solve this problem... (and truthfully, but of less importance to me, the battery problem allready mentioned by others)!!

Was this useful? Amazing product!! But.......

    Great Pair of Headphones

If you are looking for a pair of bluetooth headphones, look no further. I have had the beats wireless, and the Harman/Kardon which are two of the most popular brands on the market. Both of them are good solid headphones but they are missing something. The Parrot's have it all. They are Wireless (which sounds amazing) Has wired play back wich some bluetooth headphones do not offer. There is a Application to control the noise cancelation (other bluetooth headphones don't have this feature) and other features (base ect) of the headphone. The Mic for calling sounds good not great. The Headphones themselves are comfortable. These headphones have so many features once you try them you will want to buy them. They are a little pricey but if you use the Headphones daily youll def get you moneys worth

I really like these headphones. They work great. The only downer is the charging through a USB port....they've got to come with a plug. Other than that minor annoyance, they are fantastic. Not sure what other reviewer is talking about in terms of falling off your head...they are probably not ideal for running or exercise but who uses over ear headphones for that purpose?

This is a good product in many ways, don't get me wrong. In some cases it may not be the products fault that it is not a transparent user experience. Here are my impressions...

    Pros
    Sound is good
The fact that you can tether it to a sound system with a stereo cable when batteries are dead is great.
Battery charged with a micro USB
Auto shut-off/pause seems to work well.

    Cons
Bluetooth connections still take too long to setup and are kludgy. Switch from a mac to an iPhone and you'll have to do lots of shutting off and on to get them to work.
The movements across the capacitive panel are just OK. No manual adjustments mean that you are hostage to the panel in the cold etc.
When using the headphones to talk on the phone the voice is not fed through the headphones making you feel like you are underwater. You get no feedback of your own voice
They are constructed well, but also in such a way that you only have one option to wear them; on top of your head. Other comfort positions or less dorky ones like around your neck are impossible.

This product is the best of the best. They really thought this through. I love these headphones. The sound is incredible. You can use with your iPad, iMac or Iphone really easy. If the battery dies then use the plug in. If you really like Apple products then you will like these cause they put the same amount of pride into this as Apple does right from the packaging. These are the Rolls Royce of Headphones! (:(:
    Thanks

    Amazing Sound with Wireless Freedom

Fantastic sound with configurable equalizer and spacial sound environments.
Freedom from wires/cords is truly liberating allowing for a full range of motion 40+ feet from your device/phone. Convenient touch controls on the right ear phone.

The only major disappointment is the short battery life which will not last a normal day's use.

Better Options Out There For The Price

    No case
No wired playback and volume controls
    No wall charger
    No battery life
    Looks better in photos

The Ziks sound great and the iPhone app allows you to tweak the audio to your liking but after a few days I wished I spent $400 on a different set of headphones and returned them to get something with a little more bang for the buck.

Overall I don't think the Ziks are that stylish. The matte finish on the ear cups and the weird asymmetry of the microphones make them look awkward. One ear cup had a chrome finish at the bottom while the other didn't. The bright power light at the bottom does help the look. The yellow accents shown in photos are not that noticeable unless the Ziks are on a table and someone is taking a photograph of them with perfect lighting.

The touch controls work well although I found the auto-pause feature would get in the way while laying down or adjusting the headset. It was nice to have a dedicated reverse action. Unfortunately the audio cable for wired use does not have controls for playback and volume like other headsets, wired and the once included for passive mode on Bluetooth headsets. In passive (off/dead battery) mode the touch panel does not work and you need to use your phone or player to control all playback and volume. Annoying is an understatement.

It was difficult to size the headphones. Not great for sizing up to fit around your next and then back on your head. Also, they are on the heavy side, so your neck should give out before the battery life which wasn't great.

The Ziks do not include a wall charger. Just the USB cable. What you really want for under powered headsets is to charge them by USB for days.

The audio and USB cables are of a rope or shoelace type fabric. Looks perfect for making knots. I don't think I liked it.

Finally, the Ziks do not include a case, just a pouch. They do feel solid enough to survive a trip in a backpack but why not include a case already. Also, the pouch feels cheap. Almost like a potato sack.

So overall, after two weeks of use I decided to swap them for another $400 headset and I'm much happier.

Was considering 2... these Parrot Ziks and Harmon Kardon. Went through 2 pairs of the Harmon Kardon BT headphones because they kept lagging and dropping connection.

When I tried the Ziks I was instantly hooked... Sound, build quality, weight, connection.... all are good and definitely much better than the HK.

    Parrot Zik Great

I purchase this head phone as it was one of the first on the market with noise canceling and Bluetooth wireless. I made my purchase from another vendor --not Apple-- as Apple did not feature this product at that time. For anyone complaining about Bluetooth cutouts, this is simply user error. I have not had any issues whatsoever with cutout. If I were to place my iPhone in a pocket with metal foil wrapped around it or perhaps have WiFi or another Bluetooth device radiating a very strong signal between my iPhone and the Parrot Zik, then perhaps I would experience cutout issues. The 'Hall Effect' and the iPhone APP provided by Zik make this wireless Bluetooth noise canceling headset shoulders above the others units that are now on the market. And the headset make a great set for wireless phone calls too. On the downside, the unit weights a bit more than I'd like to have them weigh but this is mostly due to the battery pack. While the battery last quite a long time, perhaps in the future a replacement battery with the same performance but at a lighter weight might be designed. Other than that the quality is great and the comfort of wearing them is quite nice with high quality padding and materials, despite the weight.

I got mine about two weeks ago and love it. I think the battery life could be better, but when I turn off all processors and the noise cancelation, it has lasted upwards of 9 hours. For those flights that are longer than the 6 I get with the noise cancelation on, I have a second battery I purchased from the company for $30.

The sound is wonderful. I am have several different wired headsets (B&W in and over ears and some Sure in ears). The sound on Bluetooth is unbelievable!!!

    HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!

I am just amazed by the Parot Zik. The are comfortable as can be (I have a big head). The sound is amazing and on par with Bose. The bluetooth works great 99.99% of time (sure an occassional hicup). I love the auto pause feature and the app gives you so much control on the sound profile. These things are built like a fine car also.

My only negative is the batter life could be longer, but a second batter will appease the international traveler. A+

Went to Millenia Mall yesterday looking for these headphones at the Apple store. Was interesting that no one in the store knew about these. After a bit of searching there they were, on the bottom shelf. Talked to the expert who had no clue, other than the price.

I bought them, and connected them up to my Samsung S3. No problems in the hook up nor with the app. Seems to work great. Best pair of headphones I have bought. The magnetic controls on the side are really cool, and work well. No problems so far. I do agree, that maybe a hard case would be nice for the price.

The headphones are pretty great, the fit the app and the noise cancellation. The only complaint I have is the sound, which is after all why you buy headphones. You have to individually adjust volume on the headphone and on the iOS device. The max volume isn't loud and the bass distorts before even adjusting the EQ. It thumps and makes listening uncomfortable. I am not a bass fanatic but I do enjoy listening to bass without it sounding like the speaker is going to explode. I was pretty disappointed as I looked forward to buying these for a while but I think I am going to stick to my P5's until I pull the trigger on high end Sony bluetooth headphones.

They are awesome. The sound is fantastic. The app works great. They are very durable. I travel every week... and they stand up to travel very well. The noise canceling is comparable, if not better than Bose. The sound, using my iPhone 5 is exceptional. I hear notes, I have never heard. The coolest thing is the touch control on the right ear... so you can do volume, or control your music. Cant stand Bose anymore, after using these. A lot of people are curious, when they see them... not too many people have ever seen them. They are a little bulky... but they have to be, in order to be to be around ear. They are not cheap... but they are worth it.

    Best Wireless Noise Canceling Headphones

PLEASE take those who criticize these headphones as having poor quality sound, a poor bluetooth connection, or hard to use with a truckload of salt. I have owned my Ziks for about a month and they are truly excellent in almost every way. Where else are you going to get beautifully designed, well made, high quality headphones with all the features the Zik provides? And you can control them and adapt the sound quality from your iPhone or iPad. How cool is that! The only slight drawback I would cite is that the touch feature is indeed easily activated by almost any contact, with pillow, collar, etc. It takes some getting used to, but is not a big deal. If you are willing to shell out $400 for a set of noise canceling, bluetooth headphones, these are the ones to get. And read the technical reviews online. They are overall VERY positive.

    Zik Parrot is it!

The negative reviews complain about the performance whilst wired...
wireless is the the reason to buy these!

Love the iPhone app - love the ability to customize my audio space.

Bought a spare battery for longer flights - I'll try out the noise cancelling feature on tomorrow's flight!

I have 2 Bose noise cancelling head sets - and with these Ziks- look ma, no wires!

Try listening to Tracy Chapman's Mountain of Things for a test - customize the bass - wonderful pedal base and sharp highlights.

Don't listen to the complaints about wired performance - that's not the reason to buy in the first place.
