    Great Headphones

I originally purchased the studios, but did not like how much they leaked music. So I ended up exchanging them and purchasing the executives. Although they still leak, it is not nearly as bad as the studios. On the other hand these are great headphones & the noise cancellation is awesome. The bass does not kick as hard as the studios, but i kind of like that. They feel great on my head & fit around my ears nicely. Honestly I like my Bose in ear headphones a little bit better, but these are a close second.

    Look and sound great!

I have always wanted to have a pair of beats. What stoped me was the horrible quality, becuase of the plastic build in the solos and studios. The executive have that enchanting beats look and now that they are made out of aluminum they are even better. The sound quality is great and in my opinion better than the Bose quiet comforts. Trust me, before theses came outI did not like/supprt beats in any way because i thought it was too high price for the headphones. Now that the executives have active noise canclation, aluminum build and look great there is no reason why this should not be your first option when buying a set of headphones in this price range!

    I really WISH I loved these :(

I really wanted to love these headphones, I promise. I did extensive research on the pros and cons of these and the Bose QuietComfort 15. After previously owning the Beats Studio (and finding them decent but aesthetically pleasing), I figured Beats would step it up with the Executives. I tried them out for a few moments at the Apple Store, and though they felt heavy for the brief moments I wore them, I still gave it a shot. After purchasing them and trying them at home, on a plane, and on a train, I've finally given up on Beats once and for all.
Yes, the Executive Beats are beautiful. The new exterior finish and the fold-up design for storage are really excellent improvements. But the sound...oh the sound. When listening to music or movies, there is a constant hissing sound that runs in the background when there is mild silence. Other reviews online stated this, but after trying it out in person, it's actually much worse than I could have imagined. The bass is pretty decent, but not much of an advantage over the Bose.
Furthermore, they are an improvement in comfort over the Studios, but these are STILL not comfortable compared to the Bose QuietComfort 15. After about 15 minutes on your head, your ears start to get hot and inevitably you'll get a headache. Do yourself a favor if you're gonna drop the $299 and get the Bose instead.

    Overpriced for what you get

The headphones cost twice what they're worth for average drivers and a built in bass boost with a name slapped on them.

This beats all the other beats.

If you are a poor student like me, you have probably spent months considering different headphones and find it a big struggle to finally invest in one. You read up online reviews and ask your 'audiophile' friends for opinions. Your 'audiophile' friends are probably anti-beats and said they were horrible. Well, maybe the older beats headphones do sound bad, BUT..

The beats executive is a truly awesome product. I was given many suggestions by audiophiles and reviewers, but wasn't satisfied with the mixed reviews. I decided to go into shops to test the different headphones out, and lo and behold, the beats executive came out as an excellent decision. It doesn't have as much bass, which I liked, and it makes almost every genre of music sound great (I spent half an hour trying it out). The mids and highs are crystal clear. Music do not sound compressed at all. The metallic build is durable and the style is non-mainstream, for people who like to tone it down a little. Overall, sound and music is a personal preference, and I highly urge people to go try it out for themselves. Nonetheless, I am absolutely satisfied with this product, and I'm sure I won't be looking into any other products anytime soon.

Beats By Dre, all grown up

If you're looking for a pair of noise-canceling headphones that look great with a suit on business class, as well as when you're going on a casual vacation, these are for you. I travel a lot for work and I've gone through a few different pairs. Bose sounds great but looks dull. Beats Studios also sound good but are too hip hop for me. The Executives on the other hand are the best of both worlds. They look and sound great.

The only watch-out is the white noise you can hear on low volumes. If you're a sound snob you might notice it – BUT, it's only on very low volumes which is not how anyone listens to music anyway. Bring the volume to normal and you're in a world of pure sound. Crank it up and you're in a massive concert hall listening to whatever you listen to.

One detail I love: you can unplug the wires and still enjoy noise canceling making your next nap on the plane wire free. Nice touch, Dr. Dre.

These headphones are without doubt the best headphones I've ever used. I've had other different Beats headphones before, but these just beats them all. The sound, the comfort, the noise cancelation and the perfect base for the base lover makes these my favourite headphones out there on the market. The only problem with battery powered beats is that there are always that small irritating sound in the background which can be very annoying if you don't want to listen to the music very loud. Otherwise, these headphones are perfect, my ears doesn't even get warm and sweaty like the beats studio makes them do, and like some other say they do, but I just can't agree with them. If you want really good looking and awesome headphones, these are the ones for you

Love the beats sound, which is similar to the Studios, but a much cleaner and more durable build, and the fact they can fold up and store easily in a bag/briefcase on a plane, make these perfect for the business traveling music lover.

    Hesitant Shopper

    • Written by from Sacramento

I hesitated picking these up after reading reviews about the hissing...it's really not all that bad. The hissing, which I would call more faint white noise is only evident at very low volume levels (I used my iPhone 4s and could hear it at 50%). I don't know anyone listening to their headphones at less than 50% strength. I would definitely recommend these for someone who listens to Hip/Hop or pop type music. The sound is very nice. The headphones are very comfortable on my large head. The noise cancellation is enough for me, although if you want no outside sound, which I don't even know if it's possible, these won't be what you're looking for. I would definitely say though worth the $300 price tag.

Sound quality of these on blast is amazing. The bass isn't muddy nor is it too much bass like on the studios. They are Awsome and in every way. I compared to studios and the sound is a bit more clear with the mids and highs.

    Pretty Good

Bought these bad boys yesterday. Built amazingly, and very sturdy. The aluminum and soft padding feel great. Not super light, but not too heavy either. Good sound but when on, it gives a static sound. Like white noise. Kind of frustrating if you're listening to a softer song. And you can't use the headphones, AT ALL, if you don't have batteries and they're not turned on. The noise canceling is amazing though.

I would recommend everyone that is considering it - try it first. If you can tolerate the strong constant white noise - the sound is fine.

    Great but...

    • Written by from San Diego

Mids and high are awesome and the bass is just a little lacking for my PERSONAL taste. Good thing about these is that the bass doesn't drown out the mids and highs like the Studios. Design is great. Not flashy like the rest of the Beats headphones and really caters to the older crowd like me. Comfort-wise is not so great. Gets hot on the ears shortly after putting these on and not as spacious around the ears like the Studios. Built quality is awesome and the worst I can say about these headphones is the noise canceling feature. The noise canceling circuit is so bad, it doesn't even work. It creates white noise to block out ambient noise. Completely ruins my listening experience. I don't blare my music like teenagers do. I rather prefer listening at a comfortable level (50%-65% volume level) and to get rid of the white noise, I would have to turn up the volume in high levels which is not a comfortable and way too loud for my ears. I could even hear my girlfriend calling me when I was trying to ignore her. Yes the Studios have the same issue in the noise canceling feature but not as terrible as the Executives and the "Monster edition" Beats Studio's noise canceling feature actually works. I really wanted to like them but it just wasn't for me. I was disappointed.

    clarity

    • Written by from Rotorua

The best headphones for clarity i have experienced, the bass is enough for me and the music is so beautiful on these. recommend that you try before you buy to make sure they are what you are looking for. But for me they are comfortable and feel like good quality as well. in some reviews i have read people have complained that they dent or break easily, i beg to differ.
They are like anything else. of course it will break if you are too rough. I put mine back in my case and never have any issues with durability. overall they have a good look and are sooo good to wear, and have excellent sound. I love music and enjoy these beats!! if you read too many reviews you would never buy any . go and give them a good try out in store.
