    Not for bass

There are no amps or bass effects so this input is of limited use for bass guitar (out of the box anyway). Other apps can be bought to work with it, I'm sure but it's disappointing that line 6 does not include at least a couple of amps & effects

A great little device for home / practice use - which it is designed for!!
    1. Although the item is made out of plastic, the build quality is absolutely fine, I wouldn't want a "higher quality" HEAVY adapter hanging out of the iPad / iPhone connector! This is small and light and seems just fine!
2.Battery drain seems to be a none issue and the iPad 3 - lasted hours and hours off half a charge!
3.Works on all the apps I've tried it on... Mobile pod, GarageBand, Amplitube, Ampkit+... Splendid!!
    4. Sounds awesome... Miles better than the audio jack type devices - really, it's night and day by comparison! (I have both!)
    5. Did I mention it sounds awesome!? :)
    6. "Guaranteed" to put a smile on your face! :oP (IMHO)

While it would be nice to be able to charge your iPad or iPhone while using the plugin, the choice of amp heads and cabs and effects makes this an awesome tool. I have used it for over one month now and have found no lag in the app, the rig is very quiet, unlike other devices that have a very loud hiss, and the factory and user sounds are awesome. For playing with headphones or plugging it into a home studio, this app/plugin combo is fantastic.

    Lag/battery drain and finicky controls

I bought the Line 6 Mobile In with the hopes it would be a good on stage utility. However after opening the product and plugging it in, I found that it would be next to impossible to use on stage.

-Lag. This is a few milliseconds of delay from when you hit the guitar strings to when the sound comes out of your speakers. Timing is everything on stage and this would throw everyone off.

-Battery Drain. There is no external power source for this gadget and it seems to quickly drain the battery, this would be a serious problem if you were attempting to play long sets on stage.

-Sticky online presets. Finding presets isn't too hard, but you have to wait almost every time you touch the screen to scroll up or down which makes it very difficult to navigate online presets.

-Only one cable. It comes with only one cable for your guitar to your iPad/iPhone. The first question I asked apple was, "Do you sell 1/4 in to 1/8 in cables?" I shouldn't have to go to radio shack and spend another 10 dollars.

-Flimsy connector. The connector is made out of cheap plastic that doesn't seat very well. This could turn out to be a big problem.

-Great selection of amps/effects. I gave it two stars because it has such a wide selection of options and it does sound really good when you get over the lag part of it.

Overall, this is a great pocket/practice amp, but I wouldn't recommend it for anything other than practice and garage band. By a POD if you want live sound.
