Great Sound, Comfort Leaves a Bit to Be Desired

    • Written by from Boston

The sound on these is great-while the bass definitely isn't lacking, there is a bit more emphasis on the mids and highs, but the overall balance is good. I've used these for music, podcasts and movies, and all have been enjoyable. As another reviewer noted, sound leak is an issue over ~50% volume, but the only reason to go that high with these would be to drown out background noise that would probably be loud enough to mask the sound leak anyway.

My only real gripe is comfort-after about an hour my ears start to get physically sore from a combination of the pressure (the band is pretty tight) and the harder material under the super soft but super thin foam in the cups.

Overall, these are some of the better headphones in this price range, and worth a shot.

    Great travel companion

    • Written by from Arcata

I bought these headphones in Helsinki airport on my way to Japan. I wanted a high fidelity experience in a compact travel friendly design. I was not disappointed in the least. The audio clarity is excellent and the moderate noise blocking design is enough to isolate noisy airplane or train background noise from your listening experience while still permitting some noise in (like if someone is yelling at you or there is a natural disaster). Lastly, I found the customer service department quick and responsive. I ripped off my cable from an airline seat and was given a replacement in Sydney for free. I then later purchased another one, along with replacement ear pads online and received them very quickly. I like being able to easily repair the wearing parts.

    Pros:
Sound fidelity is excellent, bass not over blown
Moderate noise isolation strikes a good balance
    Responsive customer service
    Portability
    Classy style

    Cons:
    $200 (or more overseas)
    in-line microphone easily damaged
    Case a bit wonky

    Great Purchase!

The sound is very balance and natural sounding. You have to break them in like a pair of shoes for optimum sound. You can hear the depths of songs a lot better than regular Apple earbuds. You won't want to go back to your little earbuds! The bass is just the right amount. The headphones are really tight on your head and can leak sound if you go over 50% of your sound since fabric is used. It doesn't do well in terms of noise canceling. It's best if you're listening indoors or in a place where it's near quiet. It travels well.

I like it better than P5

    • Written by from Pittsburgh

First of all, I want to say I'm wearing glasses. I'm sure that all of you who wear glasses think again before you buy 'on ear' headphones. Yup, I tried my friend's P5 for about an hour and it was total disappointment. I liked the sounds of course but my back of the ears hurt like heck! I just received my P3 today and unlike P5, it is super comfortable. Of course P5 has a better sound (P3 has a bit of foggy sound and I think its because of their pads), but it is so much more comfortable, lighter. Not as luxury as P5 but it still looks very luxurious.

Nice sound; not so comfortable fit

I ultimately chose these headphones over Klipsch's excellent-sounding Image One headphones. These headphones have nearly equal sound but I compromised so I could have headphones that are more portable and less conspicuous for public listening.

These headphones look great too but aren't comfortable. I am still fussing with their adjustment to find a sweet spot that doesn't create pressure on my scalp and jaw hinge. They are tighter than other headphones (I wear a medium hat size) and the padding is almost nonexistent on the headband. The earpads sport a coarse fabric covering rather than the typical sheepskin leather. Interestingly, the fabric allows air to penetrate and don't cause One's ears to get as warm as with leather.

I'm very impressed with how compact these headphones become when folded. The inline mic and controls are very responsive. These probably sound as good as they possibly can considering how small the drivers are. You can turn the volume down somewhat since the speakers are much closer to the ear because of the pads' slim profile.
