    Don't buy.

These headphone are not worth the 299.99 they cost. They are very heavy and uncomfortable. The sound quality is favorable but compared to others it's not any better. They will hurt you're head from weight and use. They also tend to fall off when I move my head up or down. Overall a waste of money.

    It is good headphone.

I got monster inspiration (passive one, not active) for a week now. On first day I tried, because of it's snug fit, my ears were hurting. It was too tight and kind of heavy. I was only using the ear buds for many years and this one is the first around ear headphone I purchased. I really like the looks. Very solid design. And for sound, it has too much bass for my taste. I really like cool sound or natural sound. When I listen to music I always decrease bass a little and increase treble. For me, Monster inspiration has warm sound, but less than beats studio.

Next day and more and more I use, it feels more comfortable and my ears are not hurting anymore. For sound, I set my iphone equalizer to bass reducer and it sounds way better. I usually listening classical music especially playing piano and it sounds amazing on monster inspiration. I tried my old boss MIE2 earphone to compare the sound quality and I don't want to go back to earphone anymore. After I set my iphone equalizer to bass reduce, I'm very satisfy with Monster inspiration. But my last little worry is I don't think I can use it during hot summer day because my ears are warm because of it's snug fit. But because of snug fit, the music is not leaking to other people and it gives more quite environment.

Honestly, I wish I should tried B&W P5 and Harman Kardon CL before buy Monster inspiration.
Since these two headphones have good reviews in natural sound, I want to try them to compare Monster inspiration. After all, it is good headphone and it deserves 5 stars, but it sounds little warmer than my taste I give 4 stars.

I've been personally buying monster cable products for awhile. Theyre the only instrument cables i've been using. Afterbeing very disappointed with beats and yes I bought the solos and the studios which both broke on me I decided to stop buying Monster headphones. Then a sales rep from monster who I met one day let me try these on and I was blown away. Truly an audiophile product. They sound amazing definitely underrated.

    All around good sound

Theses Monster Inspirations are not the best, but for $299.99 they're probably some of the best you can get.
The bass is loud enough that you will definitely hear it, but not overpowering. The mids and the highs are excellent. The only problem I have with it is the Noise Cancelling feature. There is a low hissing noise and it isn't the best that I've heard.
They are very comfortable, although your ears will get sweaty of you're in a hot environment.
Pros: Good sound (bass, lows, mids, highs), comfortable
Cons: noise cancellation could be better, ears will get sweaty

    Way better than expected!!!

I liked the look of Beats but the comfort wasn't there when wearing them. Loved the noise canceling of the Bose but the style and build quality felt cheap! Sound wasn't all that great for either one.

Monster nailed it! Great comfort, great sound, and good noise canceling. Style is good, with a modern simplistic look. A little heftier than some other brands but I think that helped secure the piece while wearing it. Maybe not, either way the headphone was very secure when wearing it.

Had my doubts about the square cans but at least for my ears they worked perfectly!

well the NC is not very good , sound is like the other monster headphones , BAAASSSSS !
When you turn on the NC, it's sounds like you tuning on loudness control . If you like that kind of sound , this is for you. But if you looking for natural, the way it vas meant to be sound, then look somewhere else

    Really low quality headphones

    • Written by from Bucharest

They look very god on the outside but on the inside they got really bad quality.
They sound okay, but won't last in time. The real price for these should be 99$.
The headband was made of plastic on the sides and it broke after they felt.
Also after the fall the right earcup didn't worked properly any more. Opened it to see if i could see what the problem was and the i got the biggest surprise ever.
On the interior is just low quality paper ductape holding things togheter. And it's put there just like a kid would put togheter something for a science experiment. Truly disappointed with them.
They're just a lie, you think you buy a great product, but in fact it's just the looks.
The NC does NOT cancel any noises, just boosts the volume, very disappointed with that too.
Tried to contact monster a few times before i opened the headphones but no answer, another minus.

After reviewing NC headphones for a long time I went out to listen to them. Reviews had led me to Bose and I have enjoyed others Bose NC headphones before. However, when listening back to back to almost every possible NC headphone in the city I chose the balance of NC effectiveness and still relatively dynamic musicality of the Monster Inspiration NC headphones.
I liked the concept of Beats exaggerated sound to get my feet tapping but found the bass, although powerful and fun, was just too sloppy for my taste. They were also a little too blingy for me.
The Bose did an amazing job of NC but sounded a little thin - maybe as a result of the very good NC? They also look boring.
Now the Inspirations; Look great, feel great, have good NC for sure, and sound VERY GOOD! I got them home, put them on and after a break-in warm up, could not take them off! I was really enjoying my music, from my phone, for the first time. With little kids I do not get to listen to my high-ish end home audio system often and I now do not feel like this is a compromise. If I can't warm up the B&W's in my basement I will throw these on and get a smile on my face anyway. I did not expect this much enjoyment from any NC headphones. They may not be flat or audiophile quality but they seriously do an admirable job of bringing out serious enjoyment of music even as an NC, all-in-one sort of product. Monster did a very good job of creating a sound profile that allows the music to really have an effect on the listener. Good balance of foot taping bass, treble twinkle while still keeping mids and vocals fairly warm and enjoyable. Again, not totally flat if thats what you're after but making me rethink the whole flat thing... Try them from a reputable seller and return them if you don't like them. I think they nailed these.

    Best headphones I've ever owned

    • Written by from Tecumseh

I had originally purchased the passive version when my JVC over the ear headphones broke and needed a replacement.

I was impressed with the quality of sound and comfort of these. After about a week I gave the active version a whirl at the store and was amazed at the increased punch that the feature provided.

They aren't cheap but worth it IMHO. Definitely recommend.

    Monster's Next Gen Sound!!!!!

    • Written by from Largo

The WOW factor is Phenomenal! I mean, I have never felt better about spending this much money on a pair of headphones! Build quality is great, at least these didn't feel cheap and plasticky like my Beats!

Now, for soudn quality, these are way more robust than my Bose or my Beats! Monster really got it right this time...

Included goodies: 3 Cables! Wow, now it covers my iPhone and my Blackberry! How cool is that?

All in all, the headphones are great, sexy, sleek, and I won't feel so embarassed wearing these at the airport than I would with my Beats and I have some style which was non existent with my Bose! Thanks Monster!

    Quiet Inspiration

    • Written by from Scottsdale

Picked up my pair of the new Monster Inspiration headphones last week and they're totally awesome! Unlike my Bose, these work when the noise cancellation is off and with great bass, smooth mids and crisp highs. When I turn the noise cancellation on, the bass is boosted, the mids and highs are incredible and all in a wonderful silence. Comfort wise, these are a bit more snug fitting then some others I tried, but very comfortable to wear...

Great headphones for anyone who loves quality products

    • Written by from Los angeles

Very cool design and comfortable fit but the main reasons I bought these is the superb sound and ANC quality.
You get a great rich bass, smooth mid-range and crisp treble without ANC being active. With ANC turned on, the bass gets a boost while the mid range becomes richer and the Trembe sharper.
I compared these headphones with the similarly priced Beats Studio HPs and I found that the sound quality was about the same but overall I found these gave an more polished, 'smoother' audio experience.
The ANC is very cool and I found the effect very quiet compared to the Beats Studio.
