    good service, sound

    • Written by from Albuquerque

After a short break-in period, these sound great. My pair was a little metallic sounding or tinny when I first got them, but that went away with a couple of hours of use. The volume control works well, and people I talk to on the phone say that the mike is at least adequate. My first set went bad in about 2 months -- the right side went quiet, just a very faint sound -- and RHA is replacing them. Be sure to keep your receipt, as the warranty is for 3 years and they seem to actually honor it! They come with many different sizes of ear seals and it is worth experimenting to get the best comfort and ambient sound attenuation.

Remarkably good sound for the cost

Love these bad boys, great sound, excellent on the move- not sure about the cord comments, sure there's a bit of a rustle but once the music gets going all you can hear is the song! Class act!

Great for iPhone, not for Macbook

    • Written by from Newton Highlands

These might be the best sounding earphones I've used with my iPhone 4, very clean, detailed sound. However, they don't work well at all with my Macbook Pro, there's a lot of hissing and static noise and they're too loud.

I did some Googling and found that these are low-impedance headphones, which means that they don't need a lot of power to sound good which is why they work so great with my iPhone, but Macbook Pros need a higher-impedance headphone for good sound.

I have a pair of over-ear Bose headphones that work great with the Macbook, I was hoping to have smaller ones for traveling but I guess I'll stick to using these with my iPhones and the larger ones with my Macbook.

    Fulfilled my expectations

    • Written by from Waseca

RHA's MA450i noise isolating earphones generally meet my needs and expectations. These in-ear headphones block a good majority of the surrounding noise. I've used them on stage, in the office, and even mowing the lawn. They are highly portable and easy to have always with you. They lost one star from my rating as the pair I owned ended up with a loose connection in the right ear. However, much to RHA's customer service credit, I submitted my warranty request and was issued another pair within days. For $50, I haven't found a better pair of noise isolation earphones around.

    Broken in 3 weeks

    • Written by from woodcliff lake

Opened the box and fumbled fitting the right sized earbuds.. Once that task was complete they sounded pretty good. Even though the chord was about a foot and a half too long I was pleased with the sound. For about 3 weeks until the left bud stopped working.
Highs- decent sound, bloked out noise
Lows- long chord, fabric sheath that knots easy, weak connections prone to failure

Good sound, disappointed in the quality

    • Written by

Bought these in the spring, after using them for a bit I was happy with the sound quality. After about 3 months of use with them the right earbud stopped working. Thankfully there is the 3 year warranty so RHA sent me a new pair. About 2 months later both earbuds stopped working. Even though there is a 3 year warranty, getting them replaced every 3 months is a hassle.

Just a warning for anyone considering buying these.

Ok sound, cord wore out in 4 months

    • Written by from Toronto

The sound and remote function on these earbuds are acceptable for the price, but the cord wore out at the plug easily (killing audio in one ear). Trying to get a replacement from the manufacturer, but not holding my breath. Sick of spending $10/mo on headphones...

    excellent sound, well built

    • Written by from Boulder

Earbuds are one of those purchases that I usually assume I'll be back to do again within a year. Either they break, get lost or I just get "bud envy" and want something else. Not with these. I've had mine for almost two years and they're still in great shape despite daily use and I'm not enviously eyeing something else. Great sound, built to last, comfortable. And a very reasonable price, especially for the quality.

    Very Disappointing

    • Written by from Ottawa

I had to replace my Apple EarPods and thought since the RHA MA450i earphones are a bit pricier than Apple's, they would be even better. Here is my experience with these:

The first issue I have is the braided cable which is said to reduce tangles. It may just have been my set of earphones but they tangled a lot, more so than most other earphones. Not a big deal, though; I only use them to and from work. I can deal with tangling earphones but to promote a non-tangling cable is not right.

The second issue has to do with the remote; it's supposed to control the volume, skip songs, answer calls, even use it with Siri. The functions of the remote are pretty much the same as the Apple EarPods (ex: click twice to skip song). The problem is the remote was not successful in doing any of them right; it's pretty buggy. It's hard to turn the volume up and down; when you get it to work, it makes a loud clicking sound for everyone around you to hear. When you try and pause the music, it doesn't always work and skipping songs doesn't work at all, no matter how long you wait between the clicks. In 25 tries of skipping a song, it paused 18 times instead, tried to use Siri 6 times, and was only successful in skipping a song 2 times.

The last straw were the ear-buds. Sure, they have seven ear-buds of different sizes; I thought they would be perfect for my very small ears (always have an issue with earphones falling out even while standing still). They were perfect; the smallest ear-buds worked well for me until the left piece somehow fell off and was lost. No problem, I'll use the next smallest ones which seem to also fit in my ears. However, the tips do not fit on the headphones. I struggled for 10 minutes trying to replace the ear-buds without success. A bit hard to wear the headphones when you can't even replace the tips.

Maybe I received a faulty set but I do not recommend these earphones. Had to return these for a refund. Thankfully I encountered all these issues within 2 days of purchase. I was happy that Apple was great to deal with and returning them via UPS was not a problem.

    awesome purchase

    • Written by from Huntington Beach

these headphones not only sound fantastic, but actually fit in my ear which is something that I can't say about most headphones. Also, with the 6 extra sets of covers for the earbuds, one of the sizes will most definitely fit you. The remote on the cord isn't too sensitive like other headphones I've tried in the past, but it is still super easy to change the volume and stuff without accessing your device. Also, they are decent noise canceling headphones for this price and if you don't want to shell out a few hundred bucks this is MOST DEFINITELY the way to go.

    Best sound for $50 dollars

    • Written by from Miami

By now you all have read these headphones sound incredible. They do!.
They are really noise isolating. I have a pair of Bose noise canceling headphones and i prefer these ones .
The cord is very long which i like since i ride my bike everyday and i can keep my iphone in my jacket with no problems.
The cord does make a sound if it robs your clothes because of the fabric material.
Wrap Earbuds Over Your Ear and that is solved. They dont get tangle so you can not have it all.
Since i ride my bike i can hear some wind noise ( for those of you that exercise )
They are VERY comfortable in my ear . I can use them for hours.
    The construction is very solid.
The remote control works as expected but i would like a better design in the buttons .Like Apple flat design|
3 Year warranty !!! And i have read they honored it promptly .(Keep your receipt in your records if not you can not claim your warranty )

Probably the best sound you can get for $50

    • Written by from New York

Great Sound, good fit, great cable.
People who complain of "cable noise" should just choose a smaller ear tip so it's not that tight. It will happen in any in ears that are too tight.

    Good sound but that's all

    • Written by from Palo Alto

These are the most maddening headphones I've ever used. The cable rubs on your collar or other piece of clothing and it resonates directly to the earbuds causing extra noise that is amplified.
Nice selection of replacement ear buds but none of them stay in my ear. Never had that problem before.
Avoid these and stick with the regular Apple white earphones IMHO.

great sound, nice fit. Mic didnt work, led to some frustrating calls, returned same day.

    I'll be returning them.

    Plus:
The sound quality was very good.

    Minuses:
-Whenever the cord hit something, it seemed like that sound was transmitted quite loudly and was distracting while exercising.
-Those orange inserts in the rubber ear cushions are long and you feel them when you put the buds in your ears--that said, I didn't seem to notice it with use.

The best earbuds I have owned!

    • Written by from Poway

My husband uses Bose earbuds and I had Sony - these earbuds are superior and cost less! When I went into our local Apple store they were more than helpful! The salesperson took me to the internet to read all the reviews of every earbud that I selected as of interest. He was not as familiar with RHA as the others from Bose, Bowers & Wilkins to Beats Tour etc...... After reading the reviews with him - RHA had a pretty good rating. Well I wanted to add to their rating and give this great earbud a 5 star! I love the fit in my ear and the sound quality is fantastic! So far so great!

    RHA MA450i headphones

    • Written by from Ottawa

These headphones we're actually pretty good at first. The price is exceptionally high for these, because there are a huge number of headphones better than these. They lasted about two months until the cord where the mic is died. I do not recommend buying these, just stick to cheaper headphones as these are probably worth 15-20$ rather than 50$. I hope you find this useful, because if i read this before i bought them, i could have saved so much money.
