    Can't get it to work

    I have had my Aria for 10 days and still have not been able to get it set-up. I have been trying to get some support from fitbit but they do not seem to respond with any thing but questions. I really don't think they deserve one star but it won't let me give them none.

    Hours I'll Never Get Back

    Let me preface this by saying that I am an electronics tech and am not new to setting up network and electronic devices.

    I buy it from the apple store, take it home and begin it's presumed quick setup.
    After 3 hours, two emails (because fitbit doesn't own a phone) and two breaks, I packed it up and return it to the apple store and purchased a Withings WS-50.
    The Wthings took 2 minutes to setup and that was including account setup, installing it on two devices and setting up two users.

    Aria is a Hunk Of Junk
    Still no reply from fitbit BTW...

    Great Idea - dangerously unreliable for athletes

    Brilliant Idea, poorly executed with minute by minute variances and daily inaccuracies which make it too unreliable for serious athletes. Prior to a triathlon it was 2kg out from correct weight which lead to miscalculation of fluid and carbo loading.
    Regular download problems and poor support its a gimmick for the lycra set but for authentic training get an analog scale from the pharmacy.

    Won't connect with my iPhone or iPad

    The scale won't connect to my iPhone or iPad. The iOS app doesn't have a way to perform setup of the scale (only their monitoring devices). The web based setup connects the scale to my home WiFi, but the scale immediately says NO SYNC and returns to the beginning of the setup process.

    Purchased this scale as I already had a fitbit and thought it would be a nice addition. Fitbit offers two ways to connect this product to wifi. Option 1 is a download tool that you use on your computer and Option 2 is using your smart phone. I tried both options multiple times over two nights investing about 4 hours of time into it and couldn't get the scale connected to the wifi. The scale at one point was only inches away from the router and it still couldn't find it. In the end the only solution was to return the product to Apple for a refund.

    Dissapointed fitbit owner

    bought this in Canada - was delivered in 2 business days (crazy fast) - was all excited - mac installation failed with a useless error message - was able to do the setup with my wifi using my iPad - all messages from both the aria and the web page indicated success. The aria clearly stated it had connected to the wifi network.

    Now the problem - when I stand on the scale, it senses, then I get off, it starts thinking and after finishing thinking, it gives me a useless error "ERR"

    It fails at exactly the same time every time - using different surfaces and temperatures does nothing.

    I checked the help section of the website - what a joke - if you search for "ERR", you get nothing. Either nobody posts issues or I'm extremely unluck (or fitbit deletes the bad posts). I also find it remarkable that there would be zero documentation explaining what the error code "ERR" relates to.

    I have sent an email to support but I'm not expecting much - it would appear that I paid 130 US for a defective product. I've never had this happen to me with any other brand (including many discount technology brands)

    Bought my first scale, setup went flawlessly, showed up on the fitbit dashboard. All good.
    Step on the scale "ERR" step on again "ERR". Return for a new one. Get home, flawless setup, step on scale "ERR", step on scale again "ERR".

    Return and buy withings scale and it just works. The setup is a little more annoying though.

    Fitbit Aria Scales highly inaccurate

    I am seeking to loose weight on a slow but sure program — I purchased a Fitbit Aria Scale mainly so the data would be tracked.

    However, I am concerned about the accuracy of the scales — occasionally they go haywire and show with a weight that 80+ kilos above, but my main concern is the variation from repeated measures.

    The details below are from multiple weighings over a 10 minute period in which there was zero reason for my weight to vary.

    March 30 at 1:07PM Measurement 98.1 kg 33.2% fat

    The 3 measures yesterday over a 2-minute period were in the range 97.1–97.6 kg

    The 7 measure today over a 15-minute period are in the range 98.1–98.9 kg

    The 1+kg increase over a single day when there was no specific change in diet, exercise, etc indicates inaccuracy.

    The variation of 0.8 Kg in the recorded weights over a 15-minute period today also indicates inaccuracy.
