My dog jumped the backyard fence 5 hours after we activated this. I grabbed my iphone, opened the Tagg app, and started hunting for her. After running a block east her GPS blue dot disappeared an reappeared 2 blocks north. According to Tagg my dog has the ability to teleport.
After a lot of running around I finally saw her in the middle of the street in the general direction the iOS app told me she'd be. It took over 5 minutes from when she left the back yard until a text alerted us that she left the TaggZone (our back yard). We live a block from a very busy city street. This product doesn't provide the prompt tactical response we need for peace of mind in case she gets out.
This was the first time I let her out with the Tagg on so of course I was sitting in my office watching her gps dot run around the back yard on the app. I was really impressed with real time response while she was connected to the base station WiFi. She got close to the perimeter and the dot stopped moving for a few minutes. My wife walked outside and she was no where in sight. When I got outside it still showed she was in the backyard. A few seconds later her gps dot jumped a block away (detected on the cellular network).
1 star for prompt GPS map updates on the cellular network
1 star for prompt text notifications.
5 stars for tracking your dog on the base-station WiFi while still in the Taggzone
0 stars for how mad you will be running down the street looking for your dog and realizing this product doesn't work as well as you hoped.
One extra star because my dog IS alive sleeping on my feet right now...not sure what the outcome would have been without the app. Lower your expectations if you buy this.
